Desiderium

Kugane law, culture, and tradition reigns
As a Hingan establishment, and registered with the authorities of the port city of Kugane, from the gates, to the interior of the establishment proper, our grounds are considered 'Hingan' soil. Due to this, Desiderium is bound to Hingan law, much in the manner a foreign embassy would be despite it's location within Eorzea. The most prominent of which is the law of neutrality.

Courtesy and respect are expected
In all interactions. Be it with the owners themselves, or the members of the enclave who work and dwell within. We expect the same honor, respect, and courtesy we offer upon our guests during their stay within our establishment. Any brash, abrasive, or aggressive acts made against another within our walls will earn the attention of our security, and possible intervention.

Consent is required, and to be honored
In all things, be it public or more private interactions between individuals, the requirement for consent is law. No individual is entitled to simply take what they desire, or make demands of another, no matter their social standing or rank within or outside of Desiderium. If you ask, and are denied, then that decision is final. If you feel such a ruling is unfair or biased, you are welcome to take it up with the owners. Likewise, if one of our community has violated this rule - report them to the upper management.

Explicit acts are to be kept in privacy
We are a social establishment, and while exchanges of affection or light sensuality isn't frowned upon within our walls. We do not under any circumstance tolerate overly sexual advances, or carnal behaviors within the public eye. If you are unsure of what may, or may not be permitted, speak with us. If we feel things are progressing into such territory, do not be surprised if you are approached and asked to take it somewhere private, or tone it down.

No fighting, or offensive magic is permitted within establishment grounds
To maintain the environment we wish to offer to our guests and abide by the laws of neutrality embraced by our establishment, no conflict or acts of aggression will be tolerated within our grounds or walls, no matter the reasons you may have for resorting to it. Our intervention in the matter will be swift, and depending on its outcome, may result in your immediate removal and potentially being barred from Desiderium. If you feel a situation you have with another may escalate, or if you feel another may cause trouble with you, then please inform the nearest member of security.

Security intervention, removal, and banishment
By default, we place faith within all who reside within our walls to honor the rules and regulations set forth by the Establishment and its management. However, there will be times when violations will arise and intervention is necessary to return things to the way they should be. In these cases, the following is what all may expect when it comes to how these things are handled and what options are available to you.

1. Only members of our security will handle any violations. They alone are specifically trained to handle these situations, and ensure that things go both smoothly and effectively. Working with them, rather than against them, will be to your benefit as they will do what is necessary to keep the peace.

2. The punishment will always be equal to the crime. All actions have consequences, and depending on the severity, some will be more heavy than others. No matter the ruling on your 'case', it will be fair and equal to the nature of the violation and your actions during its handling. Repeat offenses will always lead to more severe consequences - and if seen as necessary can get you barred from the establishment either temporarily or permanently.

3. The duration of your removal will be made known to you. Once outside our establishment and its grounds, the member of security who escorted you will be your point of contact. Through them, you will be made aware of when you can return to Desiderium.

4. Banishment is final. Only the owners can ban a patron permanently from Desiderium, no other member of staff has that power. The ruling is final and will be treated as such by all members of the Desiderium staff from that moment onward. If you wish to speak with the owners about this ruling, then you must make an appointment through our security staff, but you will not be permitted to linger, or patron the establishment while that ruling is in place.
We are a Non-Profit Establishment
Though we may list prices for our goods, services, and wares, we will never charge real gil for anything within Desiderium or associated with it. If you have been charged actual gil, or have been expected to at any point during your time with us, please report the incident to the upper management to be investigated. If you wish to genuinely donate to us in order to help us grow, develop, and improve, simply let a staff member know and we'll see it straight into the FC chest.

We are not an ERP based establishment
We are a social establishment, and a community FC. Due to such, the majority of the rp that happens among our lot is laid back, social, story driven RP and meet-and-greet RP for our patrons. If you’re specifically looking for, or browsing for a companion for the evening in that manner, there are many adult entertainment venues and brothels that will fill your needs. We will not.

All RP is to be consensual
No matter the setting, story, or plot you may desire to have with us, our guests, or our members. We ask and expect proper communication to be used to ensure that all parties involved have agreed to the actions and consequences that may come from a scene. However, non-consensual RP such as rape, torture, and abuse is in no way supported or tolerated by the establishment, or the free company. It's fine if that is part of a characters backstory, but if you wish to use such scenes for your characters present development - do so privately and do not involve us.

IC and OOC are handled and treated separately
All in-character actions will be handled through in-character means - even in situations where our security staff intervenes, or the owners may need to be involved. However, if a problem crosses the threshold into OOC, then out-of-character involvement will be necessary and any actions needed will be taken.

In addition, a character's interactions are not to be taken as representation of the player’s own opinions, views, or mindset. Harassing a player for the actions of their character, or punishing someone for their OOC interactions through IC means will not be tolerated, and will be handled accordingly.

Staff are there to help, not hinder
From casual interactions and helpful communication to security interventions, our members are there to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and gets the most they can out of our establishment and community. We ask that you be courteous and respectful in your interactions with them, both IC and OOC, as you can expect the same from them in kind. Feel free to send them a tell if you have any questions, or throw a post at them in Rp if they haven't done so already.

OOC chatter is to be kept to a necessary minimum
Given the nature of our establishment as an Rp venue, and to preserve the environment within as strictly in character, we ask that all OOC chatter and interactions be kept to tells or party chat as to not disrupt any rp that may be going on. Any information that must be given OOCly by our members will be brief, and contained within ((brackets)).

Harassment and reporting OOC issues
While disagreements may arise from time to time between individuals, Desiderium will not tolerate harassment in any form - IC or OOC - against those of our Company, those within our establishment, or those attending our events. If you find yourself unable to handle a situation on your own, and are in need of OOC assistance to reach a resolution, or wish to report a violation of the rules, speak with a member of staff, an officer, or one of the owners. However, please keep in mind that we can only aid in matters that transpire within our establishment. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, please take screenshots of the encounter so that the officers know exactly what it is that they will be looking into.

All Staff are bound to the same rules and expectations as our patrons and guests
Though they may be a direct part of the company and have permissions and capabilities above our guests, no member of Desiderium is above the guidelines we have set forth for the establishment as a whole. If you find that one of our company is in violation of the rules, or feel that power is being wrongly used - please inform a member of the officer core or the owners.

The Free Company is not a Dating Service
Due to the nature of the Free Company we understand that in-character relationships may happen and, while we support you in those endeavours, the FC in and of itself does not exist for your character to find love or a casual fling. It is also to be understood that, should your character start a relationship with another member of the FC and things do not work out, both parties should be mature enough to not let this affect their enjoyment of the FC, or their involvement within it.

You represent the free company both within and outside of the establishment
As a member of our company, you become part of making our desires to offer a positive, fun, and friendly environment to the RP community of our server. Both within and outside of the establishment, the way you interact with others is not only a reflection of yourself, but our values as a free company. When interacting with others on our behalf, we expect you to carry yourself positively and to avoid negative or hurtful interactions when dealing with other players.
