Noboru taiyō no basho (place of the rising sun)

This is a relatively peaceful place located in Virtus lands three days travel south the border of the Kinn dominion. The town has a mixed Virtus population of about 5oo people with a concentration on those who are “combat oriented” given their proximity to the Kinn border. A notable deviation of this town which attracts a fair deal of attention is its deviation from the norm having a definitive Japanese culture base as opposed to the more common Nordic towns and cities. Noboru taiyō no basho’s layout has the outer walls of the settlement in the shape of an octagon, and has three main shrines, with a fourth “hidden” behind the face of a waterfall. The largest and most prominent of the temples is located at the epicenter of a town, the shrine itself begin rather large its architecture being a mix between a Bhuddist temple and a castle. This shrine pays homage to a “sun dragon” deity. The other two temples adhere to a more common architecture. One of them honors a god of law, order, justice, and creation. This god often referred to as “The Jade Emperor” and is located in the northern center of the town. The other temple honors Guanyin who is a goddess of mercy and compassion, her temple located in the western center. The temple that is hidden behind the waterfall is in the southern center and honors Yan Wang, who presides over the judgment of souls and decides whether they will be punished for their crimes in life, go on to live with the gods, or be reincarnated. A temple is also currently under construction in the eastern center though has yet to be dedicated to a deity.

The center of the town is where the bulk of the housing is and displays what is often called “breathtaking” scenery, both serene and beautiful, spotted with various coy ponds and rock gardens between the houses. The outer edge of the town is where the bulk of various shops, trading stalls and the eight barracks of this place. Each barracks built into the defensive wall, centered on each of the eight sides. This outer area in cases of invasion serves as a buffer of sorts for the housing which holds more business oriented citizens and their families. Aside from its temples and notable derivation from the more common Nordic roots are the attractions of its two hot springs. One of which is a sulfur spring and the other is a mineral spring, the sulfur spring being located at the north eastern interior border, the other being located near the waterfall in the south. Both places are valued for their medicinal qualities.
In order to reach Noboru taiyō no basho one must ascend into the mountains where this place is tucked away in the relative safety of a small valley in the harsh terrain in the mountain tops. The outer wall which stands 20 feet high and is made of a combination of stone and lumber has four gates. The gates of the town are white ornate Torii with a golden inlay of protective Kanji, one on each of the cardinal direction of the town, each of which has a detail of 5 guards posted at all times with overlapping shifts to assure the security of the town.

Ten's Arrival

A small town, but vibrant. Full of life and flourishing families with well-known businesses. Protected by valleys and mountain ranges that extends over three days worth of traveling. A fine journey for some who enjoyed, even for one such as this man who currently resides with in the Virtus city. He lived here, he even trained for combat here. The light of this city, a source of hope and power. Most have come to know him as the *Nensho Yoake(Burning Dawn)*, but in the world of combat he is often referred to as the *Sun Touched Warrior*. Even with such titles, those who have known for so long simply call him Tenshi or Ten.

A male of average height, five foot seven inches. A lean, but also a muscular build with a plethora of tribal tattoos to cover his upper body mainly. No facial hair to be noticed, having the luxury to shave. His jet black hair is styled, but short, giving him a to die-for sex appeal that most women in this town enjoyed seeing. Though he not only had a stylish hairstyle, but even his choice of clothing. Black and silver, his go to color scheme. Black pants that resembled the fabric and make of a suit, but at the knees there are openings that were cut purposely. Dress shoes of the same color as his pants, both polished and clean. His belt the same with a silver buckle. and a short sleeve shirt being black as well. Over the top is a thin silk coat, black in color, trimmed in silver. A design of a silver dragon is presented to appeal to the will and tenacity that warrior gives. The short sleeve shirt would turn out to have a turtle neck that covered his neck from view. Gloves are black as well as finger-less with an opening that exposed a small portion of the back of his hand. With in his left hand, he carried a Katana. A black blade housed by a steel and stainless black scabbard with a silver and circular guard and a black cord-wrapped handle. For now the entirety of the Katana is concealed beneath a black cloth with the same dragon design that is upon the silk coat he wears.

The Dawn of day still upon the Town, it was too early for children to be out playing. The wind carrying some and even clouds still visible, but gave the impression of a rain shower. However, stores and the such were beginning to open, but Tenshi’s stroll or rather casual pace would venture him elsewhere. To a waterfall located on the southernmost side of the Town. The Virtus city held a most japanese and chinese culture to its making and craft, even to its people who are dressed in robes or even kimonos. Of course, Tenshi would be the odd ball, but still enjoyed the serene lay of the land from the ponds to its roads and even housing… Once he arrived at his destination, his silver eyes and collected personality accepted the peace and tranquility of the sight. A temple was hidden here, secluded from most. He made it a vow to visit each temple located within the town daily and spend time meditating. Taking his seen upon lushes grass that even decorated the rocky sides of the waterfall. Flowers still bloomed and so he takes his seat, crossing his legs. He positioned his katana across his lap as he folded his arms firmly across his chest.

From all sides, the scenery began to brighten, giving off a light that is both calm and seemingly refreshing, bringing a sparkle and gleam to the waterfall. To outside observers it proved to be beautiful and unforgettable. It is likely that Tenshi planned to remain here for an hour or two.

Tenshi had been living here for a while so he had for the most part familiarize himself with the town, all of the various shops and temples were well known to him by now, even the one behind the waterfall. He was popular with the ladies, his looks and the way he carried himself saw to that, most of the men were fond of him too his battle prowess a thing of local legend now. Every so often he even found himself leading a small caravan of amorous children when he went out about the town and its people. He had chosen to go out early today, likely to avoid the children, where he was going was a place they were not supposed to be. His luxurious stroll was a peaceful one, there was no real clamor to be heard, the scents of the various food shops in the town wafting their smells of various delicious foods, most of the people here would just be waking as he reached the hidden temple. He took a moment to take in the various sensory input taking some joy in them before he centered his mind for meditation. It was a ritual for him now, each day visiting all of the temples meditation in their presence, this helped to curry favor with the townsfolk, they appreciated greatly his respecting their ways and customs. He took up a proper position and as he began his mediation to emit a soft glow that complimented the scenery here in a beautiful way adding to the breathtaking beauty of the place. Yan Wang took notice of Tenshi, and as one of the gods here knew the man, and his value. He wished to gift him for his efforts here, and bringing more beauty to his hidden shrine. As such as Tenshi sat in silent meditation he would almost certainly feel the gods influence upon him, but more so his blade. Impressive as it was it was “missing something”. Yan Wang being who and what it was hated the Kinn and what they stood for, and knew that Tenshi would likely be instrumental in a great many battles in the days to come.
That being what it was, and Yan Wang being a god of death and judgement would bestow the blade with a very rare gift. The blade could already pierce through much that stood in its way, but it could not touch the soul. Yang WAng would change this, his powers working their way into the balde to a specific end, to pass judgement on the souls of those it slashed. From now on Tenshi’s blade would become a thing of retribution punishing the soul(s) of the wicked of those wom its edge would bite into. Tenshi though was not the only one whom came here to meditate, though usually he would carry out this ritual of his without intrusion today was a bit different. Someone was watching him, though they kept their distance (75 yards) and remained as silent as possible. There was nothing special to this person at all, just a random villager who had also come to pay homage. They were treated to the sight of the enhancing glow of Tenshi’s aura as he meditated and rather than advance, or interrupt they instead watched in silence enjoying the beauty of it. The villager would interpret this as a good omen and hope this chance encounter would bode well for himself when he took his turn to worship here.

Tenshi Kodai Mitsumi12/08/2019
The feeling was the same, as it is at every shrine he visits. Always being watched. By whom, Tenshi could only guess that it would be a random villager or the spirit that resides here. Though, he never expected the likes of a GOD to share even a glimpse of their vision upon him. Today however, he is more than just watched over, but now gifted. At least the Katana he carried would receive such a blessing... Closed eyes opened, Tenshi revealed a sliver of his silver hues to the environment before him. Though, his attention did not fall to the waterfall, but instead to his choice of arms. He bare witness to the entity of his katana glowing purple, shimmering so even through the fabric of the cloth. The light gleamed from his eyes as they widened just enough to show that he is indeed surprised. Humming, the soft buzzing it gave as well quickly alerted him to grabbing the handle with his right and the scabbard with his left. He did this not to quiet it, but to understand why this is happening. He removes the katana from the cloth that concealed it and draws the sword, slowly. Every inch revealed as writing began to appear in the same color that outlines his weapon.(edited)

Tenshi Kodai Mitsumi12/08/2019
The blade fully draw, the writing written in kanji as it reads "Punishment and Judgment to the profane, wicked, and evil." The same is stated upon both sides as he rotates the sword. Tenshi stood to his feet, sheathing his blade. Doing so, caused the scabbard to change in visual. Scales, trimmed in a purple outline. Mimicking the scales of a dragon as a way to appeal to Tenshi's liking of such a mythical creature. Taking notice of this, he quickly conceals the sword back inside the cloth. Finally, his eyes moved from his sword, to the waterfall. The light that was once prominent and extended from his body to ensure a higher quality of beauty subsides to his being. The glow no longer present. Tenshi bows. "Thank you, Yan Wang." His presence felt surely now, and his understanding allowed him to realize that this is the work of a GOD who held absolute trust in his skill and ability.(edited)

From a side-eye glance, the presence of another was noticed. It is likely that the Villager noticed everything that just happened. Possibly astonished and at a lost for words. Tenshi allowed a smile and so he turned away from the shrine as he positioned his body accordingly to walk away. However, Tenshi now sought to visit the other shrines. Were the other Gods watching him as well? Is there a chance that they would bestow him with another gift? Surely the Gods of this planet knew that Tenshi is not from this world. His pace did not hasten at all, instead there was more care to his steps. The power he received only humbled him more. In his life, he has met many that allowed for their growth in strength to supersede their character... He needed to tread lightly, but also he needed to test this blade to better understand the way it works now.

Tenshi was quite surprised to have a god bestow a gift unto him, rightfully so, such things were exceedingly rare. Tenshi, he was surprised, the random villager which also saw this (the villager would not hear the hum nor see the finer details) was awestruck. The villager immediately placed his offering down in front of him and kowtowed, his head firmly against the ground until Tenshi had walked past...and for a considerable time thereafter. As Tenshi finished giving thanks he ascended the hill back into the more populated parts of the town it was entirely plausible the scents of food might distract him for a moment in his travels. By this time more of the town had awoken and set about their morning routines, meaning it was only a matter of time till he was flanked and flocked with the children, they adored him and were fascinated by his relative oddness. As he was walking he came across two that he had met previously, acquaintances more than friends. two twin warriors which had their own renone here, named after gods Rijin and Fujin, who were also gifted with weapons from the gods. They were playing a rather intense game of shogi that had two other soldiers from the town enthralled trading whispered comments back and forth. The nature of the intensity of the game was apparent once Tenshi drew near enough to see that the brothers had a small some of money bet on the game, and apparently the other soldiers had also made bets as they watched. Tenshi may have gone past without taking too much notice of the game, his mind more focused on the other shrines and the possibility of rewards or gifts from the other shrines.
It was entirely possible though that a squadron of soldiers forming up may well distract him entirely, as it was a gathering of roughly 15o soldiers, the bulk of which were “volunteers” with only 75 of them having any formal military training. They were easy to pick out from the group as they had finer arms and armour. There was an officer who stood out quite a bit, the quality of his equipment as well as a “yellow” faint glow made him exceedingly easy to identify. He was from this town and would lead this group, they would be heading out soon that much was apparent, though where this group was heading was as of yet unknown by Tenshi. It was too large a group to be a patrol, and possibly concerning because it was the bulk of the soldiers from the town. It was perfectly reasonable given their number to assume they were being deployed to a battle, the border was not far from here after all, and tensions outside this place were almost always high. If he kept his current pace and had not stopped to look over the game of shogi he would encounter them just as they were finishing the pre deployment inspection.

Tenshi Kodai Mitsumi12/09/2019
His steps proceeded back into Town. His stride held purpose and beneath his feet, each step held value to it as well. The shrines seemed to be his focused at the moment, but as the life of the Town grows near, his focus there slipped, coupled with the giggling and singing of children that quickly flocked and approached him from all sides. Trapped, made the prey so easily, Tenshi couldn't help but smile and laugh as they joked and danced around him. They all announced their joy, happy to see Tenshi as if he had been gone for some time. "Tenshi's home yay!" The youngest of them all called out and as she ran to hug Tenshi, he would kneel immediate to return such affection. The kids here, he obviously cared for. Nothing in this world shined brighter than the light every child here had. Their innocence knew no bounds. Once the girl released her hold, Tenshi would stand with a wave of his hand. "Behave. All of you. I Have things to attend to." The kids nodded and scurried off.
Tenshi’s path continued further into town, deeper into its livelihood and came across two familiar faces. Acquaintances, nonetheless. Formidable opponents in battle, but together, they were seemingly unstoppable! Their blood and bond to one to one another, showed well, even in the game of shogi they play. Intensity, focus, and patience. A game that required this and strategic play to win. War, often resemble such a game and so did a mere battle between two individuals. Though, Tenshi never got a chance to play or even saw an interest in playing, but he enjoyed watching it. Mainly the elders. He pushed up, there was likely money at stake here, even between the others that watched the two brothers. Moving on leads him to a gathering of warrior, troops, a squadron. There numbers great and oddly enough, it was too great for a mere patrol. ”This is far too large a group. What are they planning?” Tenshi wasn’t one to step in to such matters, unless she is seriously needed. For now, he had put the journey to the shrines to rest as his curiosity would carry him closer.
One who stood out, the sense of leadership which showed in his attire and overall look for that matter. Tenshi had no problem approaching authority unannounced or even uninvited. Tenshi is not a mere villager and there was likely chance that most of the men gathered here today would recognize him. Afterall, just like those who were combat experienced, he stood out quite easily. ”What’s going on? Must be a heavy matter for this many bodies?” A question he asked without hesitation.

Tenshi’s focus on visiting the other temples was interrupted, the distraction of the children and their adorations was short lived, but by now they were seemingly a staple in his day, a thing that always happened while he was here. His pause over the Game of Shogi was a small one, a momentary distraction. The games were most amusing when played by the elders, their life and battle experience reflected in their tactics, the twins had skill to be sure but the deeper philosophies of the elders and their games only faintly imitated in their own, though it was not at all a game bereft of tactics. It did not take long before he noticed the gathering force. Here is where his intentions to visit the other temples would vanish, replaced with wondering why, the force was being gathered. Normally, the commander here would not even bother to acknowledge his existence, he was not a soldier, at least not officially, and he had not volunteered for this. Ieyasu (the commander) was garbed in fine armour, which was the source of the glow, it had been gifted, the glow was often able to repel projectiles from their cused enemy, the Kinn. Its defensive prowess was also enough to ward off damage from the Fallen, “lap dogs” of the Kinn, they too were much hated. Their wicked ways a thing of repugnance to the Virtus. The look of it (Ieyasu’s armour) was quite similar to the traditional armour of a shogun, albeit with a definitive influence of the heavier plating of the Fallen. The sword at his side dwarfed most other traditional ones, a Nodachi. This style of weapon often reserved for those whom held rank or office. Most of the men in this group, to include the officer were familiar with Tenshi and his prowess. Were he an official soldier he would certainly have been in this group, his skills would help to bolster their chances at victory.
After Tenshi asked what was going on the commander turned his head to look at Tenshi, his face hidden behind a faceplate, his expression was not a visible one, it was the commanders attendant that answered his question. “There are battle lines forming at the border, the cursed gather their lap dogs to press further into our lands and profane them with their presence...we can not allow this to go unanswered. We have gathered all of our forces we can spare and taken volunteers to oppose them pressing forward. The lines are gathering and forming only four days travel north, it we do not answer their challenge and stop their advance they may be here, in our lands within the week, we can not let them reach the town, they would destroy, it defiling all in their path”. The attendant paused, turning his head to look back at Ieyasu whim gave him a silent nod before the attendant turned his head back to face Tenshi. He clasped his hands in front of him and gave a bow, a sign of humility before continuing. “Sun Touched Warrior, Ieyasu has given his blessing so I ask you, please, come with us. With your strength surely we can not fail. Please, join us, you could save many lives, allow many of these people to return home to their families, to their wives and children”. The desperation of the attendants words growing with each syllable uttered. Ieyasu grunted loudly, interrupting the attendants plea, a clear sign for him to stop his groveling. It was not that the attendants words were wrong, but his continued plea was quickly beginning to turn to begging. The commander would not allow that, it was shameful. Such begging might instill a sense of fear in the volunteers, and that would damage the morale of this group, something Ieyasu could ill afford. He was already depending on other settlements to bolster the numbers of their lines to oppose the oncoming forces of the Fallen.

Tenshi Kodai Mitsumi12/10/2019
Tenshi expected the commander to respond using the voice of his attendant. His eyes were the only thing to shift as gin of acknowledgement to his positioning and response to Tenshi. The fallen, once again their name popped up. They will always be a frequent disturbance in the world. However, Tenshi had confidence in his power to relieve them from this world and send them on to the next. If he got involved, maybe he could send a message to those above the Fallen. Noticeably, his eyes narrowed, mainly at the fact that they were pushing towards his home and in so little time. The terrain getting here is treacherous and not an easy task. These Fallen had to be equipped with some form of transportation that would allow them to venture here with in the week. Even so, Tenshi did not plan to allow a single one to set foot with in this ground. There were kids, the elderly and respectful individual. In his eyes, everything good about this world is here, the only place where a light can shine without being swallowed and smothered by darkness. The attendant looked to his commander for confirmation. For what? A raise in Tenshi’s eye-brow as a questionable look appeared. Is he planning to…?
And as he realized, the attendant returned with a bow and hands clasped together. Humility is indeed shown in this action as he requested the aid of the Sun Touched Warrior… The grunt from Commander Leyasu did not go unnoticed and Tenshi understood the reason behind him. The attendance’s fear is understanding and he was absolutely right to ask for help from a man such as Tenshi. However, his own eyes would carry to the crowd of soldiers. Taking another look… Most of them needed far more training. He was sure the Fallen will not be hesitant in their attack, a wicked nature that likely instilled lack of patience and tolerance on the battlefield when it came to simply or drastic mistakes. No… Tenshi couldn’t allow these men to die, that much is true. They did have families, children, a business here. Now, a choice had to be made here and so his eyes fell shut, contemplating his next response. His next course of action… ”Commander.” Followed by a pause... ”With all these men here, there are some who are simply not ready for a battle such as this. This is just my opinion in the matter and have no intentions of telling you how to run your men.” Tenshi well that such a statement would decrease their motivation, detach their minds from a strong morale, but adrenaline alone and temporary will power will not take out the fallen so easily. These men needed more time to develop their skills. This was a game of Shogi and the move is on them.
”Understand my words or not, but I will not be standing by. I suggest you tend to the defenses here and just allow me to take out the Fallen at the borderline. The Sun is out and the Gods are watching over me.” Tenshi spoke out of a trust in his own ability and his power to vanquish the evil that persists. He could not be tolerant, not now, not ever. So, what will be the response of the Commander? Will listen to a man who is known by all, or follow his instincts as a battle born warrior? Surely he knew full well that most of these men would die. There will never be victory without sacrifice. Tenshi, simply did not want to see the tears fall from the ones that cherished them.

Cardinal Sinn12/10/2019
Tenshi was surprised, perhaps caught off guard, with just how close the battle line was going to be formed. He was set against allowing even a single fallen to make it this far and so steeled his resolve and decided to join in the coming battle. He could not in good conscience allow them to destroy this place that he had grown so fond of in the time he had been here, living among these Virtus people. He had already decided to join before the attendant made his desperate plea for Tenshi to join them. Thenshi looked through the gathered force and noticed that a great many of these men were ill prepared, and likely a great many of them would die in this fight. He also knew this was simply the cost of war, there could be no victory without sacrifice. He was also right in his assumptions of the Fallen it was entirely possible they would offer no quarter (no mercy/no prisoners), they were known for that particular practice. The being what it was Tenshi addressed the commander directly, telling him he did not think most of the men were ready, and he was right. He offered to go alone, without the others, confident in his skill and ability, the commander going so far as to lean back looking down on Tenshi at the offer. Ieyasu was an experienced commander, and fairly well cultured, he imagined Tenshi’s offer was not intended to shame any of them men, his motives were likely ones of compassion in Tenshis mind, but Ieyasu could not and would not allow it. It would shame the bravery the men had shown already, and neglect the duty to defend the land as a whole. If Ieyasu did not contribute to the battle the other Virtus would chastise him for it, and tax him heavily for neglecting this duty, possibly even going so far as to remove him from office. Because of the bravery Tenshi had show as well as the generosity, despite his unintentional insult to the soldiers and volunteers the commander addressed him directly now.
“I understand your words, and have heard of you. Your talents are impressive, and much needed here. You are welcome to join”. He paused for a moment lifting his right arm motioning to the meager gathering before continuing. “ But these brave men that have gathered have honor and obligations to fulfill, your presence may well save many of them, their wives and their children owe you thanks.” Ieyasu at this point took the time to ride his horse around the formation weighing the worth of the gathered forces. The commander did not yet know just what horrors await them in the coming battle but he was sure that it would test these men, some would not return home, others would be maimed and scarred for life. Even with Tenshi among them there was no way they could hope to come away unharmed. It would be a miracle if even half of this force returned, it was the sad fact of it. Even Ieyasu went into this battle with a premise of Bushido at the forefront of his mind ( if one goes into battle expecting to live they shall surely die, if one goes into battle expecting to die he shall surely live). Tenshi’s confidence would bolster the men, but it worried the commander. Tenshi’s battle prowess was quickly becoming a thing of local legend, but his confidence, it was hubris. The smallest number they could hope to face was no less than 5oo men. Ieyasu having finished his inspection rides off towards his manner, the attendant releasing the men telling them to go spend this last night with their families, they would leave with the rising sun for the battle lines.(edited)

Tenshi Kodai Mitsumi12/11/2019
It seemed, from his point of view, the commander felt disrespected or maybe the disrespect towards his men is what made him look at him a certain way? Unsure of this, still, Tenshi did not falter. His earlier statement of heading out on his own to protect the lives of these men and shield them and their families from the pain to come. These humans, they were emotionally, dangerously so. While it is their greatest strength, it also their greatest weakness. Tenshi has been around long enough to have realized this and even now, his emotions show… Does this also mean that he is a strong and weak at the same time? The theory, the concept rather is very complicated. That is neither here nor there, the Commander addressed him directly. He spoke words that made him see things in a different way. That made him look at the gathering of men a third time… Despite their lack of experience, they have worked hard, maybe this is what they needed to give them power. This would be a battle that everyone will learn from… including Tenshi… Like himself, they had their honor to and he needed to respect that.
Respectfully, Tenshi responds to the Commander, not in words but with a bow of acceptance. He will aid them in this fight and do his best to keep the men here alive. The Commander moved accordingly, looking over his men, analyzing what he had and able to work with in the coming fight. The dismissal came from the attendant and now everyone was given a chance to spend what could be their final night with their families. Everyone left… Except for Tenshi. His eyes only traveled to the sky as the stars were infinite in their expansion. His world so far away and out of reach… Despite the life he has made here. He has no real family to go home to. All he had was himself… There was silence where he stood, but eventually his steps would be the only thing to carry him further through the day. He remained out of sight for now, his steps now becoming fast and light, he utilized the flash-step to get to where he needed to go. His destination is the the Sun Dragon’s shrine, at the epicenter of Town.
Beautiful craftsmanship, years of planning and many years of mistakes, though this place has turned out alright in the end. Made to be a castle, but all the same a temple where the main entrance would lead Tenshi to the Dragon’s head that watches over those who enter and leave such a humble and divine space. Simply stepping through, the natural energy and feeling held a great power and pressure to it. Even for such a collective and calm man such as Tenshi found himself a bit hesitant in entering such a place. The same feeling, every time. To think he would overcome such feelings… Nonetheless, Tenshi approached, eventually kneeling before the Dragon sculpted into the wall of the building. His sword placed on the ground beside him as he performed a kowtow with his hands at the forefront and both his knees upon the floor at this point. The front of his head gracefully making contact with the floor. ”I ask for your guidance and strength in the battle to come. Not just for myself, but for the men that are fighting alongside me. Please, grant us strength and the power to keep everyone here safe from all things that oppose us.” The southern shrine gifted him, but will the Sun Dragon be as compassionate and generous?

Soldiers, fathers, husbands. All titles bestowed upon men who risked their lives to protect their home. Indeed, they will be honored, unforgettable, and cherished by many. They took a victory over the Fallen forces, and though they won the War, they lost many. Many that would leave the 12 that survived scarred, sad, and possibly unable to cop with what transpired. Of course the fallen warriors had their ceremony, along side their commander. Tenshi was there to console families, the children who had lost their father. Though he did not feel the sting as most here did, he understood lost. He expected loss, even before the battle, before he even came to this world. There was no way to escape that kind of pain... After the conclusion of the funeral, he stepped away, exiting the area for the time being. He passed by the Western Temple that even now is still under construction... Instead of stopping as he normally would, he instead made his way towards home, but not before stopping at a tea shop. Able to scavenge some loot, he decided to give away the Ginseng roots since he figured their expertise with plants and any thing of the sort would allow them to prepare something spectacular... From there he moved on home to store his Gauntlet that he decided to taken from the Fallen Dragoon. A formidable foe, but the unlucky warrior had to face Tenshi in the end. A fitting end for such a skilled opponent perhaps.((C))

Tenshi Kodai Mitsumi12/15/2019
The doors opened to no light or sound. Quiet, solitude and peace, just how he liked it. Unfortunately, he did not plan to stay here long, so for now he would place the Gauntlets inside of a wooden case, keeping them aside for another time that he may need to use armor. Stepping back outside, closing the door behind him. His next step allowed for his body to flicker, disappearing completely. The wind picked up in a few locations, all leaving a single foot print. Once again, he found himself, back at the Sun Dragons Temple... His katana on his back, finally utilizing the strap to keep it as so. "Will we interact now?"((E))

The town would be a rather morose place for a while, which is understandable given the loss. A great many of the men whom left, did not return alive, losses were to be expected, but this, this was devastating. Tenshi’s consolations would help many, but not all, some were well beyond consolation, some would take their own lives, unable to cope with the loss. This of course would do nothing for the social climate of the town, death would be a plague here, the battle being only the first domino in this chain of deaths. When tenshi left those who were still mourning he passed the western temple, it was still under construction, though nearing completion, sadly the deaths and mourning would stall the process. His home offered some respite from the grieving, though he had not stayed long, storing the gauntlets he had acquired before setting out once more, visiting the Sun Dragon temple once more he would see this evening the temple was full of offerings, and prayers still burning on a small pyre, the scent of agarwood and sandalwood incense still hung heavily in the air. There were even a few people still awake, composing and offering prayers. Again he would speak, attempting to get some response from this dragon, he would again receive none, at least not through any “conventional” means. Tenshi would hear no disembodied voices, be gifted no boons, what he would receive thought was a bit of inspiration, an epiphany of sorts. The temple was filled with a few things but the ones that stood out the most to him at this time, were the many offerings, the heavy scent of incense, and of course the paper prayers, which once written were thrown into the small pyre, their smoke assuring the prayers ascent into the heavens, and the offerings left by the people in an attempt to get this dragon's attention so that it might answer the many prayers.
A great many of the temples followed this “ritual”. In asking for a gods blessing, or for some form of boon it was traditional to leave offerings, and then give prayers. Incense was also common as it was believed the sweet and preferred scents would help to further acquire the temple gods attention. The particulars of these things tended to vary from temple to temple, different offering, different incense...and of course different prayers, each god having their own dominion.

Many converged here and he would be among them. He had no offerings to give to the god. This being the one part of their culture he did not understand. These people gave their cherished belongings to the gods. Things they needed possibly and though he is unsure of such necessities, Tenshi still would not give up the things that held the memories of his home world... It is the only thing he had and kept dear to him. However, he respected the gods and culture here, he would never dishonor them after being welcomed by many. Still, the Sun Dragon remained silent, no form of communication will be made today. NO signs of giving, his perseverance will show the next day. Tenshi set off, walking passed those who would mourn their families and pray tot he god to give them safe passge through the gates of heavy for the valor and honor.((C))

Tenshi visits the northern temple where the Jade Emperor lies. He always enjoyed being her as the scent of sun flowers bloomed and gave such a relaxing feeling. Beauty is bestowed upon this temple. Order, functionality, as well as purpose. Tenshi respected the design and what the God represented. His feet touched the cobblestone walk way towards the Jade colored doors. He pushed them open once near and as he stepped inside, here he could feel environment bending and contorting to the will of the God. There was dominance, fortitude and unstoppable sensation of justice here. It provoked a militant persona out of Tenshi, he only bowed, removing his weapon and placing on the ground in front of him. The Jade warrior statue, present before him as he clasped his hands together, interlocking his fingers.((E))

The Sun god would not acknowledge him today, at least not in any way that he could make sense of. Tenshi didn’t understand the nature of the offerings that the populace gave to the gods, the way they gave up things which were precious were seemingly beyond him. He would not dishonor them, but at the same time he was failing to honor them, which was the nature of their silence as of late. The town was still in mourning, Tenshi took care not to disturb or interrupt them or their proceedings as he made his way to the northern temple. The town was strange now, the morose atmosphere a very noticeable deviation from the norm. Most of the shops were closed, and the streets were almost completely bereft of the people that commonly frequented them. He took a moment to take the temple in, admiring the architecture and design while noting the palpable power within it. The domain of this god invoked in Tenshi a military bearing, as he offered his respects to the edifice and the god it represented. As tenshi sat before the idol a person entered, in nearly perfect silence, they would be incredibly difficult if not impossible to hear enter. They stood in immaculate silence, watching Tenshi, choosing not to interrupt him incase he was in the midst of prayer. Once Tenshi would turn they would offer a very small bow, more of a nod really. The first thing to stick out would be that this being was not a human, it was in fact i six tailed Kitsune. His fur as well as kimono were primarily white, and graced with golden highlights and detailing. Unlike the prior magistrate this person was not a soldier, they were a tactician. This was insinuated by the “lavish” style of the garb they wore, as well as the fan they held in their right hand, which was currently obscuring the bottom half of their face.
Those keen eyes a focus point, nearly forced, were staring at Tenshi in such a way it was obvious the Magistrate was taking measure of Tenshi. Tale of his deeds in the last battle were a thing which only furthered his renown, his name was actually becoming a thing uttered now in other Virtus settlements, tales of his battle prowess were growing. Mugen(<the name of the Magistrate) would wait for Tenshi to finish what he was doing before addressing him.
