Breeding Basics
Mates are Chosen by the Females - As spoken of on the previous page, females tend to collect males for breeding purposes. More often than not she will select more than one male in order to breed with in her own personal harem. Infighting in these harems occurs if the signs of the males clash but more often than not, males will attempt to impress the female the most in order to become her 'favorite'.
Family Units - The aforementioned collecting behavior is generally how a family unit comes to be, most especially if a female chooses to share her males with another, a very high honor. The average family unit is four Myclyx, as any larger increases the likelihood of infighting. It is usually made up of two females and two males, but the numbers may fluctuate depending on the female. Units can only be broken by the females, at which point the males are released back to their pack.
Sexual Reproduction - Myclyx reproduce sexually, peg A into Slot B. Sperm tends to have a glittery nature to it due to small shards of the male's particular gem. It is incredibly difficult for one to reproduce with a different species, but not unheard of.
Oviparous - Female Myclyx lay eggs, further detailed in the gestation section. -
Gestation
Gestation lasts for 11 months in two stages.
Stage One - Pregnancy - Pregnancy lasts anywhre from four to five months. The sign the Myclyx is concieved under will also be the sigh it is born under. Complications with dates during conception will cause a myclyx to not become pregnant.
Stage Two - Egg - Post the four or five month window, Myclyx will lay an egg. Generally males under the fire sign are coveted for their warmth during this stage. The remainder of gestation is in this stage.
