New Versailles University

New Versailles University, often referred to as NVU, is located just beyond the city border. It is a medium-sized campus university that boasts over eight thousand students, and averages twenty students per class. A wide range of classes and programs are offered here, taught by some of the most respected educators in the country. The campus has multiple regions that include the main university building, teaching and research facilities, student dorms, and grounds where students can participate in sports and leisure activities.

NVU's main building has been in use since 1845 when it was first founded by President Gerald W. Preston. As one of the oldest buildings in the city, it has remained standing against all odds, be they a lack of funding, or a natural disaster such as Hurricane Katrina. Over the years it has been renovated and expanded to hold thousands of students and is now rated one of the top universities in Louisiana. Its current President is Cayne Tinker, a well-established archaeologist whose reputation and experience in the field of historical education have continued to grow since he obtained his position at NVU.

Daytime, online, and evening classes are available. However, like many places in New Versailles, there is a certain supernatural atmosphere that surrounds the campus after dark. The University takes every precaution to keep the mundane teachers and students from discovering the preternatural thread woven through not just the curriculum, but both the student body as well as the faculty and staff as a whole. While text book studies of the supernatural programs are quietly allowed as eccentric curiosities during the daytime classes, programs that consist of a more 'hands on approach' are only permitted to be taught during the evening hours, and are hidden away from the prying eyes of the general student body.
