Genre
Nisi Isles is a Fantasy RP server with your characters primary object being to survive the harsh, untamed territories of these isles!
With that said. Fantasy, Survival, and Adventure are the key roleplay genres at play here. However, more casual and/or "slice of life" roleplays are certainly doable within the 2 major and 2 minor settlements. This is an ever changing and ever growing world, both in roleplay and out. You're by no means limited in what manner of roleplay you desire to participate in. There is something here for everyone!
Setting
Picture, if you will, the famed lands of Middle Earth. Though Nisi certainly takes it's own dark turn, much of what you would expect to find in Tolkien's work, you'll find here. Your character, if not a current denizen, with find themselves in a realm that lay pocketed away within it's own dimension by the mysterious Aether that surrounds and shapes the isles. Amongst the Eastern, Western, and Southern Isles, you will find a variety of biomes ranging from grasslands, to deadlands, and even a volcanic hell-scape.
Technology
As mentioned before, medieval fantasy might best describe the basis for rp here in Nisi. Drawbridges and crossbows are abound as standard "state-of-the-art" technology. As it stands, Flint-Lock revolvers, muskets, and a few cannons are by far the most peculiar weapons that have survived the Aether's destructive culling of technology. You will not find any form of modern firearm here, nor any form of digital technology. There is some precedent for what might be mistaken as "modern technology" in the form of magic powered suits or firearms that are magically enhanced, but they have limits directly tied to the magic that made them. It should also be said that, even if modern firearms made it past the aether, they wouldn't be a boon. Most beasts here are more than capable of handling themselves against such weapons.
