The forest was more lively as Titania made her way back into town. The sounds of chirps and Pokemon rummaging in the distance met her as she barreled through. The townsfolk were all performing their day-to-day activities, only some taking note of Titania's hurried movements.

Upon returning to the Pokemon Center, she was greeted by Nurse Joy, who looked to be more restive than their last visit, "Oh, hello there! How may I help you?" She brushed her outfit off, "I was just dusting the machines off; they were offly dusty."
Titania would relax a little upon seeing the friendly face of Nurse Joy and would quickly hand her two pokeballs. "My Sylveon is badly hurt and the Rufflet isn't that much better off. On top of that something is...wrong with the rufflet as well. I only just caught him and he was in the possession of Team Rocket beforehand so I have no idea what they could have done to him." She would point to each ball when talking about the pokemon inside so Nurse Joy would know who was in what ball.

Then having given all the information she could, she would take a seat and release Lagi before putting him onto her lap. She would then hug the Charmander and stroke his back as she did her best to wait patiently. The teen so badly hoped that Oberon would be ok and also that Nurse Joy would have some answers regarding her new Rufflet.
"Almost there!" Phoenix cracked his knuckles before unbuttoning the holster on his belt that revealed a collapsible baton which he flicked out with one swing of the wrist.

"Hades take point. They start reaching for their Pokemon or any weapons be sure they don't succeed in doing so." His heart raced as they proceeded towards the mine. They had been taught every in and out of a raid during the academy, but typical procedure was to move in with local law enforcement, and there was no time to wait and see if they even showed up.

"Chris," Phoenix stopped but did not turn to her and kept his eyes in the direction of their objective, "it is pretty possible if not likely one of these guys may be armed, and I very well may be on the losing end of all this. If that happens you flee the scene and escape to safety." Hades turned to look at both of them, his body still facing forward. "We signed up for this, right, Hades?" He rubbed his partner's head for what very well could be the last time depending on how events unfolded.

"One promise, he'll need a good home." Phoenix took a pokeball off his belt and tossed it to Chris. With that he nodded his head to Hades and continued on up towards the mine. Just outside of it he would stop and see if any back up was even being sent let alone close to arriving.

Roll for back up?

Nurse Joy frowned a little, "Those poor dears. I will make them right as rain again. You may have a seat if you wish." She gestured to the seats behind Titania, before collecting the Pokeballs, "I will see to them and hopefully give you an answer on the Rufflet's condition." She went into the back room and didn't come out for a bit.

Lagi would look about once he was released, and then up at Titania. Hugging him close, his small body was warm and he curled up into a ball in her embrace.

When she did come out, the Pokeballs rolled out of the machine up front and she picked them up, "They will be feeling much better now, but I have never seen anything like your Rufflet before. It may be a rare strand of a Pokémon disease, so I would keep him away from your other Pokémon, just in case."
Chris eyed the baton, “Woah, that’s snazzy. Wish I had a fishing pole that did the same, sometimes, you know?” Smiling to herself, she busied herself with walking along the path to the cave entrance. She wasn’t in a rush, and Hades went ahead of her easily, with a “Right!”. Chris looked over, as did Kitty, and she shook his shoulder some, “You don’t need to worry about me, I kick bad guy butt all the time. I’ll help you out though, if they prove too much for you.” Chris caught the Pokeball and looked at it, then looked up at Phoenix, “I’m not exactly great with other types of Pokemon, just so you know…but, okay. But just in case, because I’m not keeping him if you get a lump on the head.”

That was when they stealthily approached the cave entrance. Chris waited on one side, her back against the wall. It was a large entrance and it was very dark inside. Chris squinted her eyes, but shook her head, whispering, “I can’t see a thing.” She glanced towards Phoenix after a while, whispering, “What are we waiting for?” It was at that moment that Phoenix recalled that he didn’t see any stations in Whalerdrake, and that this path that they took led from here to Whalerdrake. If his call had been well received, they would have to enter from their side or fly over the mountain to his side..
Titania would continue to stroke Lagi's back and talk to him as she did so. "You did a very good job Lagi, I wouldn't have been able to catch that poor Rufflet without you. Thanks to you maybe we can find out what's wrong with wrong with him and help him get better. Maybe one day you may even be friends with him. Of course that is if he chooses to stay after all this."

Soon after that, Nurse joy would come back with her pokemon and she would be elated to hear that her pokemon were all right. She would then gently set Lagi down and then take the pokeballs. "Thanks so much Nurse Joy!"

Then kneeling on the floor, she would release Oberon and immediately hug him when the second she could. "I'm so glad your ok Oberon. I was so worried about you. However we did it, you and lagi made it so I could catch the Rufflet." She would then pull Lagi in for a group hug.

Then after a minute or two she would say. "I love you both, but now I have to do something alone. However I promise to let you both out as soon as it is done. " Titania would then recall both of her pokemon and then look at Rufflet's ball. She couldn't just keep the eaglet pokemon in a ball forever after all, she had to try working with him after all. However that didn't mean that she couldn't take precautions.

So the teen would stand up and after thanking Nurse Joy again, would leave the center. Then she would head back to the forest so she would be away from other people. She would then get out a small portable bowl and fill it with pokemon food. Then stepping about ten feet away from the ball, she would hold out Rufflet's ball. Carefully aiming the ball so that the Rufflet would materialize next to the bowl, she would call him out.

Once he appeared, she would offer him a warm smile and say. "Hi Rufflet, are you hungry?" She hoped that keeping her distance while offering him food would be a good way to start her interactions with her newest teammate.

(Btw I'm hoping to soon have Titania make her way back to Chris and Phoenix.)
Looking at the screen disappointedly Phoenix saw that if any help was going to arrive it would be well too far out to at this time make any difference. With the knowledge of an uphill battle, metaphorically and physically due to the incline that led up to the mine entrance, the ranger could not help but think that it was such a beautiful day to end up underground, either by six feet or thirty should this arrest go as planned.

His calm more quiet tone would give way to a deep authoritative shout that was more a roar than a call, "Reddel Rangers, come out with your hands where I can see them!" His badge was lifted up over the rock putting its golden glare in clear view without putting him in harm's way immediately to do so. Since Hades was hidden behind the rock with him and already out of his pokeball he could deal with any wiseguys who came their way with gunfire, that was always one good thing about having a lighter faster partner - he could outrun most people and their reflexes.
Chris was staring into the darkness, her fist clenching as she shook it, "Yeah, whoever is in there, you better come out! We'll kick your butt if you don't!" Of course, the mountain was rather large...Nobody answered Phoenix's challenge and after a little while of waiting, Chris peeks in again, "What if they're lifting their arms up in the dark and we just can't see them? Or they're tied up or something?" She shrugs, "If I had a bunch of bad guys around, I'd tie them up, or...beat them up and then tie them up."

Kitty walked into the darkness, half in and half out, before Chris pulled at his tail to draw him slowly back to her, "Not yet, not yet."
Lagi wiggled in Titania’s arms, his tongue taking the chance to lick Titania’s chin and released a small fount of fire into the air. Once released, Lagi would move to settle himself underneath the chair that Titania had occupied. Nurse Joy smiled and waved away Titania’s words, “You’re very welcome.”

Oberon, once he appeared, drew his feelers to touch Titania’s cheeks. He rubbed his head along the side of her’s. Lagi scooted from underneath the chair and touched his small hand to Titania’s leg, making a soft sound when squished in with Oberon. They both looked up and returned to their Pokeballs. Nurse Joy would wave to the teen, “Come again, any time.”

Then, in the woods, the Rufflet sprang out of his ball and released his screeching cry into the wild, open air. He attacked the food with sharp, stabbing pecks and gobbled all of it. He lifted his head and swallowed the last morsel, before hopping about with his wings spread wide open. Eventually, he saw Titania and screeched at her, hopping with his black wings wide, his talons making threatening, clawing motions at the air. When he got close enough, he’d rush at her in a fit of violence.
Phoenix started coming out from behind the rock slowly. He placed his badge back onto his jacket and replaced it quickly with his taser. "Here, turn this on and flash it in there as I go in." The ranger tossed his companion a flashlight. "Something seems off about this, so be ready for a battle."

Now at the mouth of the cave he made sure his voice would echo, "Reddel Rangers! Come out with your hands up and drop whatever is in them, I am armed." The taser was in his right hand while the baton was in his left and held in such a manner that his wrist was used to steady the taser. Provided no bullets came his way he had the upper hand in a fight, if it turned into a gunfight however he was by far at the disadvantage.
Titania would watch as Rufflet quite viciously eat all of the offered food. Such behavior was hardly a comforting sight, tho perhaps it might mean that the Rufflet was at least willing to tolerate her presence while he ate?

However that small hope was quickly dashed when the Rufflet screeched at her and started approaching her threateningly. It apeared that the more likely explanation was that the eaglet pokemon simply hadn't noticed her out of hunger.

However while someone else might just give up and recall the pokemon, Titania wasn't ready to give up yet. Thinking quickly, she would side step in order to grab a stick off the ground. She would then throw the stick into the air as hard as she could. Then she would try to redirect the Rufflet's aggression onto the branch by commanding him to attack it with peck.

She hoped that by offering an airborne target, the pokemon would be more inclined to attack it instead of her as well as hopefully release a little of that pent up aggression.

Chris caught the flashlight and turned it over, and over again, "Sure thing." Eventually, she locates the button and presses it, startling herself with the sudden light. Clearing her throat, she waves the flashlight around, "This is great! I wish I had one of these."

The flashlight revealed many large passageways in the shape of tunnels. Each tunnel was man-made and large enough for mining carts to be pushed. The two tunnels immediately to the left and to the right were short, as Chris walked into them, illuminated a cart and a tunnel down, and then walked back to the mouth, "I don't think anyone's around here." That was until a flock of zubats erupted from one of the tunnels, the left tunnel from the center, and Chris had to cover herself with her hoody, laughing, "Ah! Bats!" Kitty melted into a puddle around her sandals.

The Rufflet screeched, but it was a short sound as its attention was on the stick. Taking a quick look between Titania and the stick. He flew off and pecked at the stick, once, before he descended and folded his wings close to his body. He looked up at Titania, quiet. The stick fell on the ground and the Rufflet waited. He didn't turn his attention on anything else, didn't make any other sounds, and sat perfectly still.
Titania was very pleased to see the Rufflet choose to attack the stick as she had commanded. She then watched as the Rufflet landed and then looked at her as if he was waiting for another order.

"Good job Rufflet!" She would sweetly praise him before looking for something else that he could attack. She would then spot a half broken branch on a nearby tree. The branch looked like it could one day break completely and when it did it could hurt someone if landed on them when it did. It would serve as a perfect target for Rufflet and knocking it down now could prevent a future injury for someone else. "Rufflet, use wing attack on that branch and knock it off."

If the eaglet pokemon listened to her once again, she would praise him again and retrieve some pokemon treats, one of every flavor like she had for Zephyr. However she didn't want to push her luck, by approaching him so she would show him the treats and then toss them towards him This way he could choose which ones he wanted to eat and she could still tell which one he seemed to like best.
The Rufflet let its beady eyes snap to the branch that Titania pointed to. At her command, the bird flapped its wings a few times, taking flight. With a mighty beat, the wind snapped the branch mentioned and the branch across from it, both falling to the ground at the base of the tree.

The Rufflet released a screech, but stayed where he was. It wasn't until she approached him that he made a movement, just his head, watching her. Being tossed the treats, the Rufflet screeched and hopped out, eating each treat in turn. His wings were a little dirty, but he stared at Titania in waiting. In his eyes, there was malicious intent, but he remained calm.
Titania would watch the Rufflet gobble up all the treats with a happy expression on her face, but would also notice that his wings were getting a little bit dirty. She could see the malice in the eaglet pokemonn's eye, but also saw how calm he was being. So she decided to give him a little trust. She would fetch her pokedex and look at the map while keeping one eye on Rufflet.

She was looking for a river in the forest and would quickly find one. Then noting what direction it was in, she would put the dex away and then say to Rufflet. "Let's go for a walk Rufflet. As long as you stay in my sight and remain calm, you can remain out of your pokeball. I bet you would enjoy the exercise after all."

Titania was offering the pokemon a bit of freedom as long as he behaved. She was banking on the fact that the eaglet had been caged up so long that it would be inclined to agree to her offer, but she kept his pokeball on hand just in case.

Then while watching him, she would start to walk and see what Rufflet would do.
The Rufflet sootd as tall as it could, keeping still as Titania checked her map. He would look up at her, when she looked at him, as if waiting. As soon as Titania spoke, the Rufflet focused his attention onto her and walked after she told him to. He adjusted his footsteps to carry him in front of Titania, his dark feathered head turning to look at her every so often.

The two walked for a bit, until they neared the river's edge. There was a pile of Sentrets snuggled up on the other bank, and one of them was looking about. The Rufflet, upon spotting the other Pokémon a little ways away started to flap its wings, screeching in a drawn out manner, like a thin line being forcefully dragged along a chalkboard.

Titania was pleased to see that the Rufflet was willing to join her on the walk, but would still make sure to watch him closely. Every time the eaglet pokemon turned to look at her, she would give him a warm smile to reassure him. She would also take care to walk at a speed that would be easy for Rufflet to keep pace with as she wanted him to be able to enjoy the exercise.

The two of them would soon approach the riverside where a pile of sentrets were cuddled up with one on watch duty. Her rufflet would instantly screech upon spotting the scout pokemon. It wasn't hard to guess that he wanted to fight, but the tough choice was whether she should permit him to. On one hand, letting Rufflet fight could only help improve their relationship and hopefully work out some more of that aggression. Besides a trainer was supposed to fight wild pokemon in order to help themselves and their pokemon grow stronger. However...Nurse Joy said that Rufflet may have a rare disease that could be passed to other pokemon, but the chief word was may. Then there was the fact of just how vicious the eaglet was in battle.Well she might be able to control that to a degree and she could recall him if he tried to continue fighting after the sentrent was clearly defeated. So that the issue of the possible illness, but surely if it was very communicable, then the Joy would have seen it before. So it was probably ok to allow him to have brief contact with other pokemon for the purpose of fighting.

So having made her decision, she turned to Rufflet and then pointed the watching Sentrent. "I'll let you fight the Sentrent, but you have to back off when I tell you. Now Rufflet, use Wing Attack!"

The Sentret was looking over the river's edge, perking his ears at the strange being's words. The Rufflet screeched its compliance to the order, hopping into the air and sending the water of the river and the concentrated air to cut into the Sentret sentry. Taking most of the damage, the Sentret was pushed back, up and over the pile of Sentrets. Hitting the ground, the Sentret decided to curl into a ball and roll into a better position, while the other Sentrets awoke and scattered into the woods.

Another Sentret, who had been sleeping, made a surprised yelp and wiped the sleep from his eyes. He looked wildly about and decided to join the other, showing off its small claws. Both Sentrets were beside each other, preparing their next move no doubt, in quiet chitters.

Titania would watch as Rufflet attacked the Sentrent and couldn't help but feel bad for them. However fighting wild pokemon was an inescapable part of being a pokemon trainer and she had to do what she could to forge a bond with the traumatized eaglet.

"Good job Rufflet, now use wing attack again!" She would command him to continue his attack hoping to end the battle quickly and thus reduce any possible risk of Rufflet transmitting whatever problem he had. At least he was listening to her...for now anyway.
