The Rufflet spread his wings wide and turned to each side in turn, screeching in his off-key cry. But this gave the Sentrets enough time to observe their foe, so when his attack sent up dirt and water as its force cut along the ground, the injured Sentret hopped onto the other's back and they stood as one. The force cut to the left and to the right of the Sentrets and when it passed, they unfurled and began their advance.

They hopped onto the rocks, one by one, and rolled onto the river bank. Then, with their small claws, they charged the Rufflet!

The second Sentret was still drowsy, its claws batted away with the Rufflet's wings easily. Even missing a few feathers didn't move the Rufflet's destructive motives. The first Sentret was taking a defensive approach, aware of the Rufflet's power. They fought in a curled form, striking out when opportunities arose.

[The last defense roll is for Sentret 2, not 1, defense roll for Sentret 1 is 7.]

Titania had hoped that Rufflet's last attack would end the fight, but apparently that had been too much to ask for. Well she had started this fight and had to see it through.

However now that Rufflet was on the ground, she needed to change tactics. "Rufflet, use peck!" The eaglet's beak was a potent weapon in such close quarters which meant that now was a good time to make use of it.

(Sorry it's short. Been a while since I posted, also any ideas what to do plot wise now that Avalon dropped out?)

The sentrets tried to snag the Rufflet's feathers in their vicious claws, but even with the bird's forsook defense, their attacks only caused insignificant wounds. Rufflet's wings bapped them away and he closed the distance with his beak at the ready. The first sentret takes point and puts himself between the other.

Luring the Rufflet into a false sense of empowerment, the Sentrets launch their counterattack! Taking the Rufflet's beak, the first Sentret buckled under the bird's power, but soon returned the attack with a raking claw up the Rufflet's front. The other attacked from the side, claws at the ready, but swiped too early and stumbled along the rocky shore.

Titania was growing more concerned by the minute as the fight lingered on. The two sentents had taken quite a bit of damage and one even looked like it was ready to collapse at any moment. However both were still up and it was still two vs one. She kept rufflet's ball close in case she needed to recall him and debated against sending out another pokemon to help.

However the decision was made for her as one of the sentrents scored a critical hit that knocked out rufflet. She gasped out loud as the poor eaglet pokemon went down and quickly recalled him. Not wanting his effort to go to waste however, she would call out Zephyr. She would have to return to the center after this to care for rufflet and desperately hoped that it wouldn't blame her for what had happened.

The sentrets ready themselves for their next opponent, their claws ambushing Zephyr as soon as he appeared. It was a ball of fur and feathers for a bit, but Zephyr gained some ground between the other Pokemon enough to be prepared for combat. After attacking, the first sentret curled into a ball and seemed to be on guard from counterattacks, while the sleepier sentret was less so.

Titania knew that Zephyr wasn't the most reliable of her pokemon, but he needed to get stronger and hopefully fighting the weakened sentrent would be good for him. That is if he was willing to listen to her.

"Zephyr use peck please!" She would attempt to command him and hoped that he would be willing to listen to her. Then briefly turning her attention to rufflet's ball, she would mutter a silent apology and hoped that the fight with the sentrents would be ended quickly.

Zephyr was scratched by the two sentrets, squawking in surprise. His wings batted the sentret's claws, but his belly was lightly scratched by the other attacker. His beak caught the sentret that attacked him, right between the eyes for a solid hit.

Both sentrets looked to be heavily damaged from the constant fighting, the sleepier sentret holding his head as he stumbled back. Zephyr held his wings up high and at the ready.

It seemed that Zephyr was willing to fight for her once again and for that Titania was grateful. "Good job Zephyr, just a little more! Use peck once again."
She could tell that the sentrents were nearly down and hopefully the battle would help Zephyr grow stronger. Then once the battle was over, she would have to go straight back to the pokemon center and get her poor Rufflet tended to. The teen desperately hoped that the loss wouldn't make the eaglet pokemon hate her even more. After all, she already had a massive uphill battle with it to start with.

(I am rolling Zephyr's defense because it was forgotten!)

All three of the battling Pokemon seemed to miss their actions. Zephyr flapped his wings in warning to the other Pokemon and they seemed reluctant to near the sharp beak. Each Sentret in turn neared and retreated just before Zephyr could connect. The two injured Pokemon stumbled, dazed, over the beach side. Their small paws slipped in the sand and their tails got in the way of each other.

Titania would watch as all three pokemon would fail to land any of their attacks. It was almost sad to watch as she could see just how tired the sentrents was and felt bad for them. However it would all be for nothing if she stopped the fight now so all she was could do was once again order Tailow to use peck and hope that the fight was ended quickly.

The two tired Pokemon's swings were greatly ineffective, wary of this new challenger that also happened to have wings, talons, and a sharp beak. As Titania commanded, her Zephyr pulled back his head and one of the sentrets immediately rolled to avoid too much damage. But the other one didn't realize the danger fast enough and Zephyr's peck dropped him with a blow between the eyes.

Zephyr squawked, performing a flare of his wings and lifting his right talon up menacingly like. The sentret eyed the bird, but turned to flee across the river instead of continuing the fight.

Titania would watch as one of the sentrents finally fell to Zephyr's sharp beak and would feel a wave of relief. Then the second sentrent would flee and Titania decided not to persue it. "Good job Zephyr." She would praise the Tailow before turning her attention to the knocked out sentrent. The teen would pick up the defeated scout pokemon and hide it in some nearby brush to help protect it while it recovered.

Then allowing Zephyr to remain out of it's ball to stretch it's wings, she would head back to the pokemon center in order to tend to the unfortunate Rufflet. It felt like she had taken one step forward only to get pushed back two steps. After all, she doubted that the eaglet pokemon would be at all inclined to trust her since he had fainted so quickly in her care.

Once she arrived at the pokemon center, she would recall Zephyr and head inside. Then she would find nurse joy before handing over both bird's balls. "I was trying to bond with and train the rufflet, but he got knocked out by a lucky blow. I thought I was making baby steps with him too until that happened."

(Slowly going to start getting back into rp.)
[Zephyr is now level 7! And we will move Titania into a fresh forum, the Whalerdrake Shoreline thread.]

Zephyr puffed out his chest and strutted about, as he watched the other Pokemon flee, cawing out his challenge for the Sentret to return and battle him once more. Turning his head and watching Titania start to leave, he cleaned his wings a bit and flew after the teen, landing upon her shoulder and casting his eyes before the woods around them.

Once the Pokemon center's doors slid open, there were two other trainers sitting around the lobby. One of them was Chris and the other was a young man. Nurse Joy took the Poke balls and placed them in the machine, pushing a few buttons, "At least you're safe. I'm running low on medical supplies.."
