On that day, the young trainer known as Jay was indeed outside the practice arenas. His young Eevee whom he's affectionately named Sylvia rests upon his shoulder as the cool, morning sun beams down on them. This young trainer has dreams of one day opening his own Pokemon Sanctuary and research facility, however before that day comes, Jay has plenty of things he wishes to cover. Most specifically, he plans to conquer the Unova league and potentially capture the legendary Dragon of Ice, Kyurem. It was his father's goal, however his father settled down and started his family just twenty years prior to Jay's journey.

Wearing his signature outfit of the red tank top, black jeans, black jacket, and his usual Guns N' Roserades hat along with his golden bag. His Eevee wore his signature Silk Scarf, worn around her neck with style. In addition to his Eevee, he had a Beedrill on his team whom he'd simply named Bee. Despite Jay's intelligence, he never had the most original names. This 'originality' often causes Sylvia to groan and sigh at her trainer. Jay and the little Normal-type shared a rather powerful bond between one another; though it's a bit surprising Sylvia hasn't evolved yet, Jay's never used an Everstone on her.

Jay had now arrived in the battlefield, calling out Beedrill as he decides on his plan. After he finishes his training for that morning, he has plans to return to Aspertia City to take on Cheren and obtain his first gym badge. Cheren was a Normal-type leader, so Jay really didn't have much of an advantage thanks to the fact he does not yet have a Fighting- nor a Ghost-type Pokemon; though, he's working on teaching his Beedrill Brick Break. Hopefully Beedrill's combination of Fell Stinger and the potential Brick Break, he'll have enough to take out Cheren's team.
A young trainer walked iut of the town's Gym, ticket in hand, for the ferry to a new place. This young trainers name is Crimson, and to his side, a Shiny Kirlia, whom he named, Lancelot, who also had an Everstone around his neck, to prevent an evolution to a Gardevior. Crimson looked back at the Gym, his fathers Gym. Thanks to him, who speciallices in Ghost Pokemon, gave Crimson a Decidueye, one if his fathers strongest pokemon. He walked around the town, seeing as he still had time to kill. He decided to go the the training fields to watch some of the trainers spar to pass time.
Being the son of the Gym Leader here in Flossy certainly has its pros, some respect, admiration. And then there were the cons. Sure, his goal was to be known throughout the lands, but not as the son of a Gym Leader, but, as his own person. The crowds and questions he'd get asked about his father tired him to no end. "What's his weakness?" "What Pokemon does he use the most?" Etc.etc . Like he'd give away his fathers secrets. As he watched the trainers, the boy with the Beedrill, Lancelot, Crimson's Kirlia, sat in the grass watching as well.
Jay was most certainly looking forward to battling he gym leader, though he just wasn't sure how ready he was. Beedrill currently had Poison Sting, Fury Attack, String Shot, and Twinneedle. It likely wouldn't be enough against the gym leader, especially considering he didn't even know what kind of Pokemon the gym leader had. Beedrill was far more suited for battle in comparison to Eevee, he was still pretty weak. Beedrill had great speed, but terrible power and defense; it generally couldn't deal with things stronger than a Deliberd sadly. Eevee was like Beedrill, though she was a bit faster; she'd likely be stronger once she evolves. Perhaps Jay should look into capturing a third Pokemon prior to heading towards the gym... But, what Pokemon could he go after? He had absolutely no idea what awaited beyond Flossy Town.
As Crimsons pokedex beeped of a rare sighting, he checked his watch. Hmm...still some time left, he could use this time to check Mt. Blackcloud. "Lancelot, come on." He called to his Kirlia, who, in response, hopped up and followed Crimson as he made his way out of his town.

After exiting the town, he dug in his bag, searching for the scarf he usually carried for stuff like this. Soot covered grass? Don't want that getting in his mouth, nor Lancelots. He fished it out, wrapped it around him, and fished our a smaller scarf he made specifically for Lancelot, and wrapped it around his neck as well.
