Hello dear readers, and today we will discuss how to capture Pokemon.

What do I capture Pokemon with?

Pokemon are captured by throwing Poke-balls. Most Pokemon must be battled before they can be captured, but not all of them! Poke-balls range from basic, ordinary Poke-balls to Great balls, Ultra balls, and even Poke-balls with custom purposes.

Where can I buy Poke-balls?

The Poke-Mart has all common items that you will need for adventuring! Poke-Marts can be found in almost every town and city!

I've encountered a Pokemon that I want to catch. What do I roll?

When you wish to throw a Poke-ball, you will want to find this button! d4c9604974db5819db1b3675680fd7de.png

You will want to roll 1d20 for the Accuracy Check and a Capture Roll. This is your trainer's ability to not miss the Pokemon that they are trying to catch. If a Pokeball is missed, it can usually be picked up again. The mechanism will still work in most cases.

The Capture roll is a 1d100 roll. Smaller numbers are better. If the Capture Roll beats the Pokemon's capture rate, then the Pokemon will be yours!

Pokemon who are small in level are easier to catch. Pokemon who have been damaged and/or are affected by a Status Effect (burning, frozen, poisoned, etc) are easier to catch.

Pokemon cannot be captured if they reach 0 hitpoints and faint!

rolled 1d100 and got a natural 85. After the modifier of +10, got 95
Capture Roll

rolled 1d100 and got a natural 89. After the modifier of +25, got 114
Target Roll

Shouldn't you mention that negative stat modifiers also help your chances to catch pokemon?
I have included Stat Lowering Moves as an option for granting bonuses, within this line:

"Trainers get +10 to the Capture Roll if the Pokemon has a Status Effect on it or the Pokemon was hit by a Stat Lowering Move."
Oh my bad Miss. I guess I missed it.
It is always good to point out things I may have missed! It isn't any problem at all.
This has been updated for the current rules. Negative stat modifiers no longer factor into catching Pokemon, but Pokemon no longer get bonuses due to how much hitpoints they have left.
