Tumbling for what seemed to be forever, over and over, Umbrie fell from one dimension and into the next with a sudden bright light and the smells of farm life. The falling stopped and Umbrie was deposited into a pile of hay, in the midst of a field where several such piles were scattered among the field. A few farmers were busily raking up stray piles. They didn't seem to notice Umbrie, for the time being.

Along the east side of the field, there lay a barn where a few trainers were tending to their Pokemon assistants. They were busily grooming Ponytas and milking Miltanks. On the west side, there lay a series of buildings, most likely the farm houses of the families that lived here. Wherever here was.
it was fairly recent since the Time Umbrie followed her Espeon through the Blue Moon Ruins of Syrrus. a pale girl with long black hair and deep blue eyes rose from a pile of hay with a Rather Oddly Colored Espeon.

the Espeon Outside of the Ball had a Teal Coat with a Metallic Sheen, the coat nearly Matching the Teal and Black Dress of the Trainer. the girl nervously examined her new Territory. her Espeon Perking up out of Curiosity as it Led her along a Row of Ponyta's. she had never seen Ponyta of this color before. the ones back home had a White Flame Coloration and this was her first time seeing a red flame Ponyta.

well, she was Neither in Blue Moon Ruins or Syrrus League Anymore. the colors of the Ponyta were enough of a Clue. as the small statured girl of 155 centimeters walked around, a weight of only 43 kilograms. she peered around, keeping a fair watch of the Area around her.

some kind of Farming town. where she came from, one could Drink thier first Alcoholic beverage as soon as they got thier Pokedex on thier thirteenth birthday. not that she was an addict, but she came from a region famous for Lavish Parties and Massive Feasts with Drinking and Dancing. the Syrrus Region, she was quite accustomed to the smells of Various Grain Farms, so the stench didn't bother her too much.

maybe they might offer hospitality the girl thought to herself as she wandered hungry with her hungry Espeon that failed to catch a Bunnelby for her meal. the Espeon enjoyed the taste of a Bunnelby cooked over an open flame or really most forms of meat and dairy, being a predator and a consumer. even if it ate anything. in fact, the teal 2 tailed quadraped was so hungry it stared longingly at some potato plants.
One group of farmers were talking about the big game as they approached, "Did you see the Chefs? Them KC boys sure do throw a good pitch." The others agreed and were about to add to the conversation when one pointed out, "Woah!" The others followed his finger and they agreed. Umbrie's clothes were very strange, bright, and colorful.

The farmers wore jeans, jackets, and white-ish work shirts. The Ponyta's snorted at the girl, sniffing her hand if she neared close enough to pet them. Soon enough, the first farmhand approached and held out his hand for a shake, "Well I'll be! We don't get too many fine folk around here. You from...Flossy Town?" The lad raised a brow, glancing over the strange material Umbrie was wearing.
Umbrie allowed the Ponyta to sniff her hand while her Espeon gave the potatoes a longing gaze, it would normally have tried to steal one and hide in a bail of hay for a handful of hours, but she was clever enough to piece together that she was in a new world and likely the only Espeon with her coloration here, so the Sun kissed Vulpine turned to the Farmhands, hungry and putting up a rather canine begging gesture.

Umbrie herself wasn't one to dismiss the farmers. "i was in some Ruins, my Partner Dawn was Tracking a Bunnelby as a meal, and it led us into a Bunnelby hole, there was a flash of light, a fade to black, and i ended up in a bail of Hay missing most of my stuff." it seemed her accent was quite high pitched and quite cheery. she sounded more like someone who came from a fancy central trade city where contests were held alongside parties and feasts. not that she herself would be wealthy, but she came from a wealthy area. and Dawn was clearly a reference to her Espeon. likely a reference to the time it evolved.

"my home Town is called Pinot Noir, and is a major staple of the Syrrus Region. the trainers there usually cosplay, do pokemon theatre and it is a huge contest center. the Gym is also the contest hall. after beating the leader and heading to the Blue Moon Ruins to do some further high risk training and eventually hunting Bunnelbys and Ratattas for food in an area loaded with Powerful Diggersbys and Raticates, i ended up here."
One of the farmer's kneeled down, "Aw, who's a hungry lil' fellow?" He grabbed a few sweet treats from his pack and held them out in his hand for the Vulpix to eat. The farmer lad drew his hand up and through his ruffled hair, "Oh, well...I guess you're not from around here after all." Smiling some, "My name's Mark. We were about to head in and have some lunch. Y'all welcome to join us."

Mark shook his head in amazement, "Poke cos-wha? Never 'ave I heard of Pinot Noir. Must be a long ways off." The other farmers looked up from taking turns, petting the Vulpix, when the meal bell was rung. They started walking off towards the farmhouse, putting their rakes in a pile of hay to return to them later.
as the Strawberry coated Vulpix was petted, the Metallic Teal Coated Espeon also did some desparate begging. Umbrie gestured to the Espeon, "this is Dawn" then she gestured to the Vulpix. "This is Strawberry." she followed the farmers and headed in their general direction as she talked with them, describing things.

"Cosplay is a form of acting you do in the costume of the character you are pretending to be and is a huge part of pokemon Theatre. Trainers and pokemon wear costumes and do plays with music in the background." Umbrie did her best to explain,

"since i just got here and haven't much to spare let alone a place to stay, is anyone willing to provide a room until i learn enough about the surrounding area to adventure in a world i never experienced?"

One of the farmer gave a half-laugh, "Cute names." He gave the Espeon some food as well, "Don't worry lil' fella, we'll get ya somethin' to eat." Mark made a thoughtful noise in his throat, "Hmm, we don't have much of that around here. Marblewell's a quiet place. Though I heard some tusslin' around the mountain mine the other day."

Mark opened the door for Umbrie and the other farmers were already seated around a large table, food being served to several plates. Mark smiled some, "We have a few spare beds, since some of our workers are seasonal. We'll bring you a pillow and some blankets after lunch."

Lunch was quite loud, as all the workers and the family sat around the same table and ate mashed potatoes, sweet yams, farm meats, vegetables, and some delectable berry salads. Someone brought a few dishes for Strawberry and Dawn. After dinner, Mark led Umbrie to a spare room in the attic. It wasn't much, but it was small, easily heated, and relatively clean.

Mark dropped a bundle of blankets and a pillow onto the handmade bed, "This'll be here when you need to retire. Don't worry 'bout comin' in late, the door to the house'll be open. Not much crime around these parts."
Umbrie nodded and smiled as she stepped inside and enjoyed lunch. her Espeon really enjoyed some of the strips of meat she gave her. Dawn cheered like a good teal coated sun Pokemon.

as Umbrie drank milk with her meal. she smiled and giggled. letting Srawberry try some of the berry salad. making the vulpix cheer.

the trio filled up rather quickly and headed to the bedroom to nap for a bit. Umbrie cuddled her two mammilian pokemon. they hoped to stay here for at least 2 hours.
Mark left the girl and her Pokemon be, closing the door and descending the steps. As Umbrie slowly slipped into a dreaming state, she dreamed of a meteorite falling from the sky. Then she too was falling, aimlessly, into a pile of fluffy Pokedolls.

The two hours pass by without hassle and a fresh set of clean clothes, a packed meal, and a few Pokeballs and Potions were set outside her door. A little note was on top of the pile, "A little extra to help you get by, from the Marblewell ranch." There were two Pokeballs and Potions, in addition to the leftover items Umbrie already had. The sun was still high in the air, but in an hour or so, it would fall.
as Umbrie awakened at the end of what was supposed to be a two hour nap turned into a three hour one. she accepted the fresh change of clothes, the potions and the pokeballs quite happily. searching around for a card of some kind to write a simple thank you note on. with the acceptance of the packed meal to save for the road.

a simple note, "thank you for your hospitality. i hope to enjoy it should i return. i intend to explore the world and learn about the new world where i am today. i promise to eventually return with at least a mark of my growth in some form, possibly a gym badge or a third pokemon."

it seemed the girl had a specific goal, to learn about the new world before her, to hopefully establish a foothold and become one with the populace. learning piecemeal. one step at a time.
The note was easily turned over and a pen was lying around on the room's floor. Downstairs, the table had been cleared and a few farm hands were finishing up the last of the dishes in the connecting kitchen. When they noticed that Umbrie was leaving, they waved, "Come back whenever, ya hear?" The other farmers, including Mark, were back to being busy outside. They were working a machine that collected the hay and turned it into bales.

The fields of Marblewell stretched far to the west and east. The small city was wedged between the fields and included only one road. South of the road, the peaks of the mining mountain could be seen and up north, the fields cut off and a thick forest spread outwards, its trees holding a very dark green hue.
Umbrie would continue her way down the road, heading south towards the mountain to find a clue about the new world or at least another town or even some new adventuring friends. she liked to learn new things and was quite the information sponge. hoping to avoid extremely suicidal encounters and instead look for new companions she had a chance of capturing or at least persuading with minimal risk. maybe a cute new companion would be on its way.

the girl gave a smile and a giggle, speaking once more, "Dawn, Strawberry? you ready to seek some new friends?"
Umbrie's Pokemon gleefully answered her and the road south was fairly quiet. The fields of plants and farm Pokemon carried on until the mountain edge grew close. The tunnel entrance was lit with the setting sun and a few workers were having dinner outside of it.

They were seated on stumps and waved at the girl, "Ello there!" Once she was close enough, one of the workers cleared his throat of food, "We're almost done fixin' them lights. If you don't have a bright Pokemon, I would suggest waitin' a lil' bit. Probably be up by tomorrow."

The lights were partially working, along the entrance walls. Some flickered on and off and another worker explained, "Some thugs came in and darked the whole place. Caught us by surprise and we had to get out before someone got hurt. But some brave youngins chased them away. Bless 'em."

"Helloesies" the girl greeted as her entrance into the mountain was interrupted, she was brave but not foolish.

"i guess i should wait a bit while you fix the lights." Umbrie did her best to answer the question. "Strawberry, is a wonderful source of light but i wouldn't desire to leave her vulnerable in the darkness." the girl was gesturing to her extradimensional strawberry coated vulpix, that had the ability to create artificial sunlight like most others.

"since you seem to be eating and seem to have a place to rest, is it okay if i rest under the supervision of the staff here?"
The miners looked between each other and gave a laugh, "That's the cutest name. If you wanna, you can camp with us. In fact, our tunneler went home. It's why we can't work right now, but if you want to try your hand at getting through the rubble left behind, we could finish up by the night."

The other miner piped in with, "Marblewell would be mighty thankful. Could earn yourself a few yen too."
"i'd be willing. Strawberry could serve as a Light Source and Dawn could help clear the rubble with her mind, would that help?" Umbrie curiously asked, knowing that she herself wasn't very strong, but she had a fire type with drought and a psychic type.

"i might not be able to do much with a pick, but i will do what i can to help, but i did earn 3 badges back home before i fell down that bunnelby hole, even if they are useless trinkets here."
The miners grabbed their helmets, adjusting the lights attached to them, "That sounds like a plan, lil' missy." The miners looked between each other and grabbed their pickaxes, "Haven't heard of anyone falling down no bunnelby hole, but 3 badges! That's quite a fair bit. My son's been trying to get his first badge, but our gym is no pushover."

As the two miners led the way into the mine, taking their time through the twisting pathways of unlit lights and wood trusses, they chatted about gyms, "I heard the gym leader in Whalerdrake ran into the woods. Something about his wife. Real tragedy that is. My son wanted to get his first badge there, because he'd have an easier time." The second miner tapped the other, pointing to a pile of rubble, "Here we are. We just need to get to the power box on the other side. We'll try to make a small hole for you to fit through."

The miners started to pick at the rubble, the lights on their helmets bouncing as they worked. The rest of the tunnel was very dark, with the sounds of Pokemon echoing down the tunnels.

though not very strong herself, while Strawberry dig some digging and Dawn moved stuff with her mind, Umbrie herself joined in with a borrowed pick, watching the effort her pokemon went through and seeking to emulate it, following the Wisdom of Pinot Noir Gym Leader Madison Tailor from back home. "Pokemon perform best alongside thier trainers. Madison would do this too. i must learn this."

Umbrie's Digging.

Strawberry was a little distracted in her digging pursuits, but Umbrie and Dawn moved enough rubble in due time. The older miner had to take a break after a bit, leaning against the cave. He checked his bag for the replacement wires and proper tools. Once a pathway was made, he placed a hand on Umbrie's shoulder, "That's enough there. Plenty of room." He slipped past the girl, towards the fuse box.

After replacing the wires and flipping the switch, the lights flickered on, starting from the closest. The light traveled down into the depths of the tunnel and the miner wiped sweat from his brow, cleaning up the cut wires with his gloved hand, shoving them into his bag for now, "Well, I reckon that'll do it." He gave a cheery smile towards Umbrie, "Thanks a lot, lass. I'll be sure to put in a good word with the mayor bout this."
"Thankies." Umbrie happily cheered with a playful smile. giggling some more. "i could use a meal and some Sleep before i continue on. is the offer for Accomodations still Valid?" the innocent small girl was quite cheerful as a front to her fatigue.
