To avoid cluttering story threads with combat posts, this is a suitable place to host Pokemon battles. This is a PVE thread, so posts regarding encountered Pokemon will go here. There are only a few rules.

1. Everyone except for the challenging Pokemon Trainer can control the NPC Pokemon.

2. Pokemon are type-aware. They will use more favorable moves (ie. Water moves vs. Rock type, instead of Normal moves).

3. Pokemon can use stat-lowering moves if they know them, but not twice in a row. They must use a damaging move in between.

4. Pokemon try to utilize their strengths. This includes attacking with Attack or SP. Attack, whichever is higher, unless their move frequency states otherwise.

5. Pokemon NPCs will use Set Damage instead of rolled, for their moves' damage. This number is in red in the Set Damage chart.
Karrablast vs. Totodile

HP: 15 (6+45+10 = 61 hitpoints)
Attack: 14
Defense: 7
Special Attack: 4
Special Defense: 5
Speed: 2

Moves: Scratch, Water gun, Leer
(Speed determines who goes first. Karrablast is much faster, so will have the first action).

The strange Pokemon waddled towards the Totodile and jumped at him, attempting to poke at the other with its strange shaped horn. The small bug charged and poked Totodile square in the chest, sending the little lizard back and tumbling over himself.

(On crits, just add the red number again. 11+11+13. 35 damage! Minus the 7 defense. 28 damage!)

11+13 if hit. AC: 3 needed

Totodile pushes himself back up and uses his small claws to steady his spinning head. He waddles up towards the bug and uses his mighty, yet very small claws to swipe at the karrablast. Slashing the bug and spinning it around, Totodile laughs in his triumphant return.

26 damage! Minus 7 from defense. 19 damage done.

rolled 1d20 and got 7
AC:4 to hit

rolled 1d8 and got a natural 6. After the modifier of +6, got 12
+14 if hit.

It was Karrablast's turn to spin around and it fell over for a bit. Once it returned to stand, he lunged with his horn. The bug bopped Totodile, as it pushed the other slowly backward.

24 damage! Minus 7 is 17 damage!

rolled 1d20 and got 8
AC: 3 to hit

Totodile grabbed onto the Pokemon and his small feet slid along the sandy beach. He lifted one final claw and bapped the bug over the head. The Karrablast lays face down in the sand and Chris recalls her Totodile, "That was close.."

Totodile gains 4 experience! Totodile levels up!

AC:4 to hit

rolled 1d8 and got a natural 7. After the modifier of +6, got 13
+14 if hit.

Totodile ends the fight with 20 Hitpoints, after his rest.
