So here is the conversation that some of you might have missed:
Lone_Otaku Nov 10 2017, 11:58pm
At this point we're at a "call and response" system which is slowly falling apart, so I'm trying to respond and correct as many posts as I can, as well as send a call to the rest of the players to write in cohesive sentences. Not a requirement, but it would make it an easier read.

To be totally honest, and I don't mean this to offend—well, not to a severe degree—we really need to do a bit of research on campus layout, maybe some dust use, a bit on the Emerald Forest, and a lot of the lore. We can make this a barebones RP on RWBY but if it's a setting that has lore then it has to be included at some point.

robinnroserobinnrose Nov 11 2017, 12:12am
We established post order on RWBY page 9 by Jence except nobody posted according to post order and that was several pages ago.

Well I rather incorporated the dust but dust wasn't really explained by the people of RWBY so much of the plot holes must be placed by us.

Also I said this may happen(the lack of activity part)

SINDragon Nov 11 2017, 12:59am
You know, I've kinda lost interest in this game due to a lot of things at this point.

I've had troubles in the past with my writing- it's difficult to post for me because I feel like I'm not enough. I felt like I was going good with this until a little after my last post, so forgive me for not being active. Large groups tend to intimidate and stress me even more, so this never was that great of an idea on my part.

A lot of my confidence in Roleplaying also derives from partners. Jence, you've been wonderful in that regard, but I must admit sadly due to it being an open group roleplay, I've kinda fallen apart. There have been a few posts by certain people that's made me feel like I'm not enough. I could point these out, but I feel like doing so would only inflate this all into an unwanted drama.

I still want to do this with you all, in some way. I think either we should hurry this introduction along quickly so we can get to the individual teams, or something similar. In my own opinion, the most fun we'll have in this is within Team interaction. Now, with that in mind, we should strive to reach this point so all parties get enjoyment out of it.

The question is how we achieve this point in the game. Should we skip forward to this point? Should we continue down the path we are? Or should we just redo this entire shindig so that it is more friendly to newcomers and friendly to the players' interest?

Jence Nov 11 2017, 8:17am
I’ve started to lost interest in the RP too... not because there no post order, or that no one posts, just because I feel like right now, there is nothing happening. And I know it is an introduction, but for sone reasons I find it boring, which does affects my creativity...

Sin’s idea is not that bad, we could indeed skip to the emerald forest. Though, when I’m looking at the RP, I feel like it needs more "work". Like Alex said, we need a map, maybe a list of the grimms that there would be in the Emerald forest, and other things, like an overall plot, that we don’t have right now..

Plus I feel this RP is just going to turn into a Slice of life/ School RP, which I don’t really appreciate. I mean, I’m not against it, it’s just I feel like there’s more to do with this RP, but with what I’m seeing, meh.

Not that anyone posts are bad, nah that’s mot the problem. It’s like we are lost. And being lost tends to make the RP kinda... meh. If we REALLY want to continue the RP, I suggest that we start all over, but instead of having the speech and everything we should skip to the Emerald forest immediately. Like that, we jump into the story without being bored.

Sin, you are such a nice person, I’m sad to see that you feel intimidated by groups. If that’s really the problem, why not create small groups and just make out a RP out of them? Like there is a forum for each team, and they go through the same days, but separately? I really don’t know if it would be a good idea...

Anywho, I’ll get going; have a horseback riding lesson soon!

Love and unicorns ~

Jence <3

As for a map of the Campus, I found a fan-made one online. I think we should use it as an easy reference to ease all of our souls, yes?
B-_Map.png
I mean, not everything on this map needs to be followed like religion- again, just a small, easy reference.

If my memory serves well, the Grimm we see in the Forest is the Ursa, Nevermore, Death Stalker, King Taijitu and Beowulf. One could assume the Boaratusk thingy is there too.

About an overall plot- I guess we could to tie in the Super Duper Ultra Most Definitely Amazing Certainly Evil Team Of Pure Chaotic Prowess. We could throw in the White Fang- but I feel like that isn't much of a good idea. The White Fang holds an important status in the show, so to put them in with the general bad guys is probably not a good idea. We can't touch them in a way that affects them greatly.

So we should make our own. Like I said, Super Evil Team one, they can be bad. Heck, we can form so many different villains. Maybe we start off with one organisation, then let it grow out as our characters develop more and more. Some of them can become jaded, unable to trust each other, corrupted, blackmailed, threatened, hurt, so many things that leads into so many different paths. We can meet bandits, more organisations, mercenaries, assassins- heck, let's fight pirates at some point.

Sorry if I got a little off topic, haha. Thank you Jence, I'm sorry I didn't bring up sooner to be honest. I think that should work out well, actually, then people could go at their own paces and focus on one thing, rather than others moving the plot along quicker than a rabbit on roller skates.

Ah, I hope you have fun riding Jence! :D

RaewaffleNov 11 2017, 8:59am
Honestly I have to agree with Jence and Sin. I too have been slowly losing my interest in the rp, it’s just getting quite boring and off topic. While I do love to play with you all, I think we should start over.

I like the idea of different forums for each team, and then we all find a time to bring every team together to fight a big boss or something. And we should refrain from making into just a slice of life, while I do like those, I like them only up to a certain degree.

Sin, I too feel intimidated by the large groups. I was never really a huge fan of being in groups as a kid, and still aren’t today. But I love everyone in here, though there are times ya’ll can make Momma mad. Nevertheless I love this group, but the amount of people in here is frightening. It’s gettibg out of hand, mostly since some people are on more often. Lately I haven’t been able to go on as much thanks to drama, school, and life in general. But I still try to go on, so my posts may be smaller than usual.

As for information not known. I can look for the Grimm, Jence can you look for a map, Sin about dust, and Phoenix about anything else I neglected to mention?

Why is 4? Because we all have done our own little RWBY RP together before. We know how eachother works, and I trust you 3 so much. You up for it?

Jence Nov 11 2017, 9:26am
I am definitely down for it, RaeBae !
I even thought of an interesting plot regarding the Super Evil Satanic Malicious and Scary team, I’ll be talking about it to Sin later~

Anywho, the map has already be found, I’ll try maybe to look for an Emerald Foret’s one? Don’t know yet.

We should talk more about the plot, like Sin said, we could tie together something about the Super Evile Malicious Squad, maybe we could invent a holiday/festivity that holds the school? If we can, I’d like to create a PM with a « plot » goal? Probably have Sin, Rae, Phoenix, maybe Corban, and other’s that are interested in making a plot?

Clayfire12 Nov 11 2017, 1:39pm
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been up here as much as I wanted to, works got me constantly tired and school doesn't help. But honestly, I do agree that we need to at least restart and because yeah, it has kinda slipped off from the original course. Also, yeah, a plot goal would help, unless we just want to do a day by day what happens type rp.

But count me in on the plot building Jence

Jence Nov 11 2017, 2:14pm
Don’t worry Clay, everyone is pretty busy right now. Its nice of you to take the time to tell us your opinion on the RP’s status!

So I will create a PM right away with the people that I find are worth to be there; if for some reasons you really want to be a part of it, just say it! I’ll add you to the conversation. For now, there will be me, Sin, Rae, Phoenix, Clay and Robinn who showed their interest in the plot making:3

For now, let’s pause the RP, and see what we will do with it.

From my point of view, things should go that way:
- Find maps to locate ourselves (School, City, Forest, dorm, etc...)
- Create an interesting plot where both good and villains shall interact
- Determine what kind of RP do we want this RP to be ( slice of life, action, romance, etc...)
- I do think that we should create the teams, if we choose to restart everything. Since we are 12, we can make three teams of four
- Maybe we will need to pass over the rules, just to make sure that everyone understands them (because yes, there are rules for the RP)
- Have a post order (I’ll take my original order, and then make some changes to make sure everyone is ok with it)

I think that’s enough for now, I don’t see anything else to add. If you want to propose a change, just say it ;)

Remove this ad

All I hope is that the others see this.
Well, that’s why I talk in PM, cuz they see it. Here some of us don’t have the reflex to come here. I warn them by Pan, hope they’ll come here ^_^
But here, everyone is in the conversation :’)

So how you’re doing Alex ? Had a great day? Also do you see anything that is missing concerning everything in my last message?
Corban, answer my pm about my room group
B-_Map.png
Here's the map I referenced in the conversation.

Here's the map of Vale (the city), the one Roman had at least.
310.png

Emerald Forest doesn't seem to have a map- I find that understandable considering it is meant to test the new students' abilities such as directional skills, durability, stamina, strength, speed, etc. It's meant to be confusing and like a labyrinth, though we could make a 'map' if we need. For it, though, I suggest that before the relics that A. Characters land, B.Character 1 meets designated partner, C. The two interact before fighting a Grimm together.
After A, B and C, they reach the Relics. Here, they take a relic and the teams will be decided. Then, all students fight Grimm together, similar to the show. Why should it pan out this way? Because it's an easy plan that also somewhat references the show in some way.

As for Dust, I'll list off the known types. I could be lazy and just give you the page, but it's long and somewhat annoying with their debates.
Wind/Air - Seems to be green
Fire - Red
Water - Blue
Lightning - Yellow
Ice - Dark blue
Steam - Combination of Fire and Water
Gravity - Black Crystals (releases purple and black energy)
Earth - Seems to be white
Bright Orange - Unknown, speculated to be Magma or something due to being used in the Vytal tournament's Volcanic biome.
There's also a Cyan one but no one really knows what it is used for so.... Let's just forget that for now, yeah?
Welcome back everyone. It's good to see the Group OOC is keeping the group alive and active. Lets just hope that no one forgets to subscribe to the group so they can get newsfeed notifications and or e-mail notifications if and when there is activity within the group.
would any one like to rp with me
whats good >_> i wanna offer help in plot development but im not very good in that area. Hope u guys dont mind...
Don't worry!
I had a question for everyone that is concerned by the plot development: Do you want the conversation to be on here, or in a PM?

Thanks for letting me know :)
i think pm is better just because the people who arent involved in the plot wont know what to expect. I think it will keep things interesting
If it pertains to the group, please say it here so no one gets left out. But as for the plot, I think having a defined point to work toward would take away most of the fun. Just my opinion though.

And if anyone needs a break from RWBY stuff, I invite you to look on Sevio's profile. I have a number of other plot themes we could use to make a different type of RP, whether that be 1 on 1, or small group. There's no shame in wanting a little break.

Sorry for the EXTREMELY late replay, I've had to code something for my Career Prep. A class. Either way, the past few days have been mind-bogglingly stressful.

The message seems to entail all that we've been talking about, so it's good. However, I will look through the posts after to see if there's anything unclear.

Let's smooth this out a bit, I'm getting my info from the FANDOM wikia too so...

Wind/Air: As of Vol. 3 it has been changed to White

Fire: Red, as proven by Vol. 1, Ep. 2

Water: Lighter shade of blue, as proven by Vol. 1, Ep. 1

Lighting: Yellow, as proven by Vol. 1, Ep. 2

Ice: Darker shade of blue, as proven by Vol. 1, Ep. 2

Steam: Unproven color, secondary dust type created by the mixing of Fire and Water dusts. (Assigning color as translucent grey)

Gravity: Black, as proven by Vol. 5, Ep. 2 (Floating islands of Lake Matsu)

Earth: Originally white. Should probably be switched to green (maybe brown?).

Bright Orange: Speculated to be Magma or another Fire dust, as it is utilized in Cinder Fall's outfits and also the volcanic biome in Amity Colosseum.

Cyan: There is a speculated purpose, which has been proven in the animation. It seems to be used for creating solid, constructs or being used as fuel. It hasn't been utilized by anyone but Weiss Schnee and Velvet Scarlatina and has also been seen in the pipes of a train engine and generating the shields in Amity Colosseum. Weiss uses it to create "lasers" and shields with Myrtenaster, and Velvet's temporary weapons are seemingly made out of this dust. I would like to utilize this dust however if it is allowed, there should be a logical explanation of how it is generated/used/fired/whatever you are doing with the dust.
As for Auras and Semblances, we should smooth the information about those out too, so instead of writing paragraphs I will copy and paste paragraphs. Four AM people, four AM.

Auras.
Aura is the manifestation of one's soul in the RWBY universe, and can be used for a wide range of abilities. The specific abilities and their strengths differ from individual to individual and are dependent on a number of factors, such as experience, training, and innate skill.

Aura is an ability that all those with a soul can use, at least with enough practice. A person with a strong Aura may radiate bright colors when using it. Because Aura is the manifestation of the soul, it can appear very differently depending on who is using it. For example, the color of Aura differs from person to person: Pyrrha's is red, Jaune's is white and Ren's is pink.

It is mentioned that anything with a soul has an Aura, including Humans and Faunus; even synthetic persons with souls, such as Penny Polendina, can generate an Aura. The Creatures of Grimm, being soulless, are the only known form of life that does not have Aura.

Skilled users of Aura can create their own barriers or even increase their own abilities in some way. Weapons and armor can also act as a conduit for Aura, allowing for an even wider range of offensive and defensive capabilities.

It has been shown that the strength of an Aura degrades with continual use. This limits the applications of Aura in combat as, with time or heavy use, a person's Aura will decay to the point where they are left weakened or even incapacitated. Aura being completely depleted is visually represented as a colored sheen passing along the length of a person's body, indicating that they can now be physically injured.

Aura is a necessary energy source for all Huntsmen, being a powerful ally in battle. It is also required in order to trigger the use of Dust. Aura, as demonstrated by various characters, has the ability to do the following:

Defense: Demonstrated by Lie Ren in the Emerald Forest, and explained by Pyrrha Nikos. Aura is mainly used for defensive purposes. Ren used his to block the fangs of a King Taijitu that was attacking him. While users of Aura will not be hurt as long as their Aura is up, they can still feel sensations such as pain and heat. It requires training to always subconsciously have a cloak of Aura on.

Offense: Demonstrated by Ren in the forest, as he sends a shock wave of force propelling a fang through the snake's head, causing it to explode. Fox Alistair demonstrated a similar ability during the fight at the Breach, where a shock wave from his fist blew up an Ursa Major. Additionally Pyrrha has stated that all tools and equipment are conduits for a person's Aura.

To Unlock other Auras: One's Aura can be used to 'unlock' the Aura of someone else; as shown by Pyrrha, who unlocks Jaune Arc's Aura. Doing this appears to take a toll on the user however.

Healing: It also seems that those with a strong enough Aura can heal minor wounds. Jaune used this directly on a small cut after having his Aura unlocked. However it appears that the healing is automatic and not caused at will.
It appears that Aura is able to manifest in different ways when in use and takes on the color of one's inner energy. It appears as a slight glow around the body.

It has been stated that the activation of an Aura requires training and willpower, though someone with considerable training can unlock the Aura of another person.

Semblances.
Semblance is the manifestation of one's innate and personal power as an ability unique to each individual, with the effects varying greatly from user to user. The nature of one's Semblance is noted as representing an aspect of their character. However, a person's Semblance can be similar to the Semblances of their parents or other family members. For instance, the Schnee family Semblance, summoning glyphs, is completely hereditary. According to Winter Schnee, a Semblance that remains exactly the same between family members is something very rare.

According to "Aura", the fourth installment of RWBY: World of Remnant, Semblance is a more tangible projection of one's Aura. Pyrrha Nikos implied this connection when she told Jaune Arc that the use of Aura can help him to discover his Semblance. Miles refers to Semblance being "fueled" by Aura.

Those that use Semblance are able to manipulate certain physical phenomena according to the nature of their power. Some individuals, such as Weiss Schnee, are able to use their Semblance to create "glyphs" that generate some desired effect - the most prominent being sudden disruptions in movement and bursts of momentum. Ruby Rose is able to move at incredible speeds, while Pyrrha could manipulate magnetic forces. Some have Semblances that depend on external factors, such as Nora Valkyrie's ability to convert electricity in the environment into physical strength.

Using Dust, certain individuals can modify their Semblances with elements, such as Weiss using Myrtenaster to change her glyphs and Blake inserting Dust vials into Gambol Shroud to make her Shadow clones take on elemental properties.

Overuse of one's Semblance for prolonged periods may adversely affect its user at certain times. This was demonstrated by Weiss on one occasion after using a series of glyphs in rapid succession to assist Ruby, subsequently collapsing afterwards. This is also seen in "End of the Beginning", when Glynda Goodwitch shows signs of exhaustion from using her Semblance to fix the city.

It seems that emotional turmoil or stress can affect one's use of Semblance, as exhibited in "Destiny", where Pyrrha Nikos' Semblance activates while talking to Jaune Arc and accidentally slams him into the stone wall. Later, in "PvP", Pyrrha temporarily warps her weapon and shield for a moment during her tournament round. This phenomenon is exhibited by Weiss in "Tipping Point", when she accidentally summons a Boarbatusk, which then attacks a party guest. The earliest and most frequent example of this phenomenon is Yang Xiao Long's habit of accidentally activating her Semblance when she is angry.

A user should not be able to still use their Semblance even though their Aura has been depleted. Weiss could still use her glyphs in the "White" Trailer after being knocked down and bleeding, something that would imply that her Aura had been drained. However, this is an inconsistency, considering that the "White" Trailer was made early in the planning stages of RWBY, when even the concept of Dust was still in its prototype stage.

In the case of Qrow Branwen, it is possible for a Semblance to be uncontrollable and/or permanently active. Additionally, it may even be possible for a Semblance to effect one's surroundings.

If you want more information go Here.
We should create a forum just for those informations, so anyone can have access to them
I could see about putting the info on one of the groups pages for quick reference.
Since I do not know if the one forum for the info is up I shall post the information I gained about the emerald forest that we know of.

It is unknown exactly how many types of Grimm live in the forest, but it is revealed that Beowolves, Ursai, King Taijitus, Nevermores, and Death Stalkers are among the inhabitants. There is an abandoned temple at the northern end of the forest from which the students have to retrieve relics and bring them back to the cliffs.

That is what I have managed to find so far, not much is known about the Emerald Forest. I think the creators did it like that on purpose for mysteries. Besides, it is a forest, not much is really known about every forest.
o-o
Knowledge
It's obvious that we shouldn't have any information on the Emerald Forest, as that's the point. You're supposed to get lost. Although, we can set up some landmarks that are within the forest if you guys feel we should.
