BEASTFOLK
The Wild Reflected
The beastfolk, animal folk, beastkin, wildshaped, furre - they have many names and come from many worlds, their origins as diverse as their forms. These anthropomorphic peoples are many and varied, in large part seen as a subset of humanity in the mundane east due to being recognizable animal species, but ones having gained distinctly human traits (or perhaps it was the other way around for the ancestry of some).
They have scattered populations due to their variety in form and origin, generally smaller villages and in some cases towns - it is believed large populations live on the far western coasts, of very different types than those seen in the east.
In general the beastfolk of the east have struggled, having a harder time adjusting to Hy-Brazir due to their variety and competition with larger groups (with many needing select environments to thrive). It was long ago they began to arrive and try to find their footing, but not all made it; those who did were often assisted by others and subsequently many have found their place in those cultures - beastfolk can be found all over, living amongst humans, orc, dwarves, and even centaur.
There are many in Thornmouth due to the part they played alongside humans in the war, in addition to the proximity of the Kasurian gate - numbers have risen significantly in the past century.
Racial Details
*those who have come through the moongates in the east have lost much of their magical ancestry over time if they arrived with it, encouraged by both cultural pressures and the difficulty in passing the knowledge of such things on after being cut off from their home worlds. It was much the same for the human population, who have welcomed them into their ranks for centuries - a great many in fact live in the empire of Naldrima and consider themselves Neutralists.
