Some days after the clans arrival, Ganu calls the clan together for a meal and a meeting. At first they catch up and he asks about how they've been settling in and what help people still need in securing homes, but then onto the reason he called the meeting. He stands at the head of the table to present his point.
"A little backstory for those of us who are new faces. Prior to the clan leaving England we dealt with a threat by the name of 'Amalia', A woman who was found guilty of posing as a doctor and sapping lifeforce from innocent civilians. Her punishment under our previous clan lord was that she have her soul trapped within this."
Ganu presents the black soul stone.
"That I ... procured before we parted with Belsthame. It still doesn't sit well with me. This goes against everything that this clan stands for. There are some among us now that found redemption after a far more tainted past and those people are shining examples of what this clan stands for. This is not"
He flexes the stone.
"Our old clan lord didn't even try to help this woman and neither did we. I cannot sleep at night knowing that I didn't try. So ... I ask of you all now... let me take this souls stone to the earth plane, let me release her... let me work on her for a little while. I want to give her the chance she deserves. I will aim to be gone a maximum of two to three days. I will give her the chance, the rest is up to her. The earth plane will reveal the truth."

Quinne had been away for maybe a couple of days, but on his return, he had been absent in his new house. He entered the hall, looking better (atleast to those who had seen him after his return), but not great.
"Dralt was afraid of her magic, I believe, given what she could do to the Undead. I dealt with that personally, but I feel like that's the only real risk we have...outside her ability to drain people's energy, but that needs contact. Her old body is gone, though."
He pointed out, leaning into his chair. "Will you be going alone?"
Emroidz — 05/19/2020
Roylen and Ganu had spoken previously about Amalia’s imprisonment, as well as his hopes for her rehabilitation, so his partner—their leader—knew he had the satyr’s support. The dangers that existed in this endeavor existed with any quest beyond this mortal coil; Roy knew Ganu undertook an inherent risk with any venture he made to the earth plane.
“I too have a past I am not proud of, as well as a redemption since which I owe largely to Ganu. It is my firm belief that everyone deserves a second chance.”
That being said, the demon turned his attention to Quinne, who made a point to point out a logistical problem they may have—not immediately, in regards to Ganu’s endeavor, but for the future, should this initial undertaking be a success.
“I mean...not to be morbid, but...even in the best circumstances and the most prosperous of towns, there are dead and dying to choose from. If her powers are what you say, it should be a non-issue...right? Her eventual raising and revitalizing a deceased body to occupy?”
Roy turned back to Ganu now as Quinne asked if he should be going alone, as that was a question he concerned himself with as well.

Maxie would eyeball the black stone critically. The beastly man lounged in a chair suffering under his weight, a stubborn air about his person as he worked his way through a bowl of unidentifiable local fruit. It did not seem like he was enthusiastic about the situation and only so supportive in that he wanted to believe Ganu was doing the right thing, but he didn’t seem wholly convinced.
She would not be getting her mask back, he’d snidely add at some point.
The energy vampire had grown from a nuisance to a proper threat that Maxie seemed hesitant to accept was worthy of a second chance. That being said, he trusted Ganu not to make any regrettable decisions with the assistance of the Earth Plane to render due judgment. While he could grudgingly admit that she had not received a fair hearing (not that he fully grasped the concept) or a chance to consider another perspective, it seemed like he wasn’t entirely against the punishment she had received.
Ganu’s words about a tainted past took him down a few pegs. While the man was doing well when it came to finally embracing his supernatural nature, there remained a great reluctance to accept redemption had been attained just yet. A soft spot in his bitter armor, it turned him from sour to sulky.
“The difference is we sought t’ change, I wish y’ the best o’ luck in sellin’ ‘er tha’ idea. How can we be sure she won’ jus’ play alon’ t’ seek vengeance?”
Roy earned a startled and disbelieving expression. Who said anything about her occupying a dead body, that wasn’t the plan was it? Maxie sharply snapped his attention back to Ganu to fix him with a questioning stare.

When it came to magic, Onnushi did not understand it. He was learned and quite intelligent by human standards, but magic, despite it being technically very natural (as it pulled from the threads of the universe to manifest, therefor magic was everything and everything was magic depending on how it was viewed. The business of soul trapping was a very foreign and strange one to the creature, if not somewhat unnerving, as despite not considering himself magic, he did technically contain many 'trapped' souls in his 'being'. The idea of something like that being done with magic was a baffling one, primarily due to his understanding of magic being comparable to that of an idiot child with a virgin mind to it's (dare I say) sorcery.
Alas, Onnushi did his best. His contribution was simple, though it may not be met with enthusiasm. He was, after all, the experimental one.
"Is it out of the question to suggest this soul be freed and let to it's own devices? It may be capable of creating a vessel for itself." he may have sounded dumb, or not. He did not know, for he did not know how these things work. "Or finding one, as suggested." his tone dipped oddly, losing that gentle bordering-on-friendly warble. If someone was out to abduct the sick or their corpses, they may be soon faced with a competitor. That went for necromancers as well.

Evren had argued for a trial and something akin to service and indentured servitude at that time, the idea of redeeming even the worst having germinated back then, idea and curiosity tumbling uninhibited into her questions for Cassius the following morning. Having read the energy-thief's tailing of their group as an act of desperation, she had not been altogether keen on Dralt's 'manor law' judgment call, that day.
But unlike the men directly affected, she had no want for vengeance, and consequently had not actually witnessed 'Amalia's' end.
Ganu received no pushback from her - indeed, he even got a slight dip of the head in affirmation, though she watched closely, stare lambent and owlish, seemingly assessing and reassessing her own judgment call. Whatever hurdles existed in her own mind, Ganu appeared to have cleared them.

Arron, however, found that he still had quite a bit of axe left to grind, that he'd no intentions on helping that woman at the time or during their hunt on the Dralt compound - and that he was in full and surly agreement with Max (one for the history books)! Semi-consciously, he fidgeted with a pin he wore; one once-stolen by this woman and one that had a twin among the possessions of his assistant.
"She had been a clear and present threat to us at the time," in addition to those civilians "one that had followed us through the divide to England after causing several present a good deal of trouble." Himself, of course; he was far more worried about the outright-dead, in this case and would withhold from any self-centered dramatics, this time! "But as master Quinne has said, the body is gone and the magic with it." And hopefully, the immediate threat to their undead.
A nod to Max when he'd mentioned that those present sought change - didn't Arron know it! - before piping up. "With the choice between limbo and freedom-with-conditions...in a position like hers, with a history as ours and likely a good thirst for vengeance, how true could that 'want' for redemption be?" It was all hypotheticals, of course, let whatever happen on the Earth plane, happen - but Max's surly old man corner was not without company, today!

Aldo hovered in this meeting again further towards the back of the crowd still yet feeling out-of-place, the word still out on whether he'd be anything more than a nominal ally. Didn't recognize 'Amalia,' but didn't expect to. Said nothing yet, though would shift restlessly and curiously on occasion as talks of corpses and resurrection grew wilder with each voice.

Zaffre accompanied and arrived with Quinne, if only to keep a close eye on him and to help if needed. Despite him looking better, the event still left her shaken. She was understandably reluctant to stray too far from his side. Sitting near to him, she awaited the message the clansleader wanted to give—and it was an unexpected one.
The talk of redemption earned the courtesan’s cynicism. Still the new blood of the clan, she did not feel comfortable to let her voice be heard, and kept her silence, choosing instead to watch, listen, and learn. She did not know the soul residing in the stone, but she felt that she could trust Ganu and Arron with her very life when it came down to it. Quinne would feel a light grasp of slender fingers on his arm, to show that he was heard by her. Clearly the Sorashi preferred to readily trust people she knew and was well acquainted with, but she was not ungenerous to give her clanmates a dutiful listen.
Degu — 05/19/2020
Ganu listened to each of their concerns without reacting, he's just quiet like a statue as he lets everyone state their case. His amber eyes rest on each person speaking in turn and even those that do not.
"I do not wish to speak so bluntly, but I must remind you all that there are some among us that were a very present threat to us before they joined us. Some, while they've been with us. These are threats we've managed and aided with to a point at which they are hopefully under control. There may be times when I am a threat to you...I can never guarantee that it won't happen after the events of Eileadora. I feel we haven't given this woman the fair chance she deserves."
Cassius looks aside and down to the side. He nods his head and adds "When I started here, it was as a slave. At least, under the previous clan. I had made...attacks. I had cruel intent. I've made a great deal of mistakes even within the clan, let you all down and you still keep me here. It...wouldn't sit right with me either." he admits with a slow look between Arron and Maxie "But I can admit that I have a personal bias on the matter."
Ganu listens and nods "No dead or dying body would be needed, I have plans to take the soul to a location on the earth plane where it can take a new form. Of course, I have no idea what that form will be but the earth plane will pick what she needs, perhaps her soul will. Then I will work with her on the earth plane as we travel to a fountain of truth. By the end of my journey...I hope to seek the guidance of the fountain to judge whether it is safe to bring her back with me. I would not feel right to let her soul free simply because it should not have been within the stone in the first place... in my opinion."
He takes a deep breath.
"I only ask you all to trust me. I wouldn't bring her back here until I was absolutely certain. We've been endangered so many times. I understand the concerns."
Rook — 05/19/2020
"While there are those who can be considered a threat, what she can do with her magic, if it's kept as it was, is much more dangerous. Controlling undead like myself puts both other people and myself at risk of being killed. She's done it once before and I almost killed someone because of it, I'm not sure how that'd even be close to being seen as a 'non-issue'."
Quinne rested a hand against Zaffre's, attempting to relax. "That is my issue alone, being one of the only undead in this group right now. I want to put my trust in you, Ganu, but I don't want to be around someone who uses that sort of magic to torment others."

““…to a point at which they are hopefully under control.””
Max sank in his chair with crossed arms and no further input, giving in to the matter with a grunt and inclined head.
Ganu would be trusted to know what he was doing and be wished the best of luck more genuinely later. There would be a rather guilty avoidance of Cassius’ glance between himself and Arron. If he was willing to forgive his transgressions in the light of rebirth, the least they could do was give ‘Amalia’ a solid chance.
That being said, the man would most certainly be keeping an eye on her once returned. It remained to be seen just how receptive she’d be to the idea of reformation.
While well distracted by both food being at hand and the subject of the meeting, once they adjourned he would approach Quinne to ask if he was well.
