Bugge
"I find their strength and dim wits to be refreshing. Unlike furres, they work day and night, without a complaint simply because they enjoy working."
- Darien Stonehoof, Mine Foreman
Bugges are social insects, originally created by the Prime Jujinka to tend the Garden of Immortal Beauties. Bugges are only fertile with other Bugges. There are a number of different colors of Bugge, and they tend to equate color with "hive" or "heraldry" rather than personal identity. Furres and Wyrmmes sometimes think Bugges all look alike!
When living in an underground warren, only one Bugge, the queen, is fertile. Her subjects are both male and female. Bugges aren't interested in sex; the act of procreation is fatal for the male. They experience brotherly/ sisterly love, and are fiercely loving when it comes to their children. Only one male fertilizes the queen, and she then lays hundreds of thousands of eggs. These are light dry spheres that keep for a long time. When they need to be hatched, they are soaked in a kind of special broth made by female Bugges. In a few days, they grow and hatch into larvae- caterpillar-like kids the mental equivalent of a human 7-year-old.
Under Imperial Drakorian rule, Bugge larvae are given to Furres to be slaves. True to the insect stereotype, most of them grow up very industrious. They tend to be kept away from weapons and are generally not aggressive.
Bugges raised under Kasurian rule, on the other hand, may be fed a special secretion from the wrist-glands of female Bugges, which their bodies concentrate, that makes the young ones grow larger, stronger, and more aggressive. These "soldiers" are very loyal to their elders, and sometimes a bit naive, as they retain a childlike perspective on the world.

Canine
"Pick your sword up, soldier. You'll have time to sleep once you've sweated blood and given hell to your enemies."
- From the popular myth, Evan the Great.
Canines are a race of furres injected with a deep sense of pride and honor. They come in many shapes and sizes, ranging from large wolves to smaller breeds, and are often found in adventures and professions requiring brawn, rather than brains.
Canines are found everywhere in Kasuria, doing what they can to make a living. While most of them keep away from the seedier jobs one may aquire in many cities, some canines have been known to take up the darker arts if the pay is right and the odds are good.
Canines are generally human sized, with sharp facial features. Their voices tend to be sharp and barking to harsh and growling, and their actions are often far more blunt than most other furres. They get along well with equines and svallfurres, and as a rule detest rodents and felines.

Dragonne
"The dragon soared overhead with majestic grace, its wings flapping lazily and keeping it aloft. With a big, slowy turn it began to make its way towards the village, and that's when we knew that it was time to stop gawking and start running."
- The Elder of a recently burned down village.
Dragons are strange, mystical and rare creatures. Few, if any of them venture out of their solitary lairs and into the world in order to adventure, but those who do often make a name for themselves. Ranging in size and color, dragons are a versatile race. They are large quadrupeds with scaly bodies and leathery wings, large maws and sharp teeth.
Dragons are not too widespread in Kasuria, as they often live alone, or with their immediate family. Each color of dragon (chromatic and metallic) seems to have a different mindset and behavioral pattern. Their alignment also changes, and it is a known fact that the metallic dragons are good, while the chromatic are neutral and evil. The life of a dragon is immense: smaller dragons are usually children who have only lived a few centuries, while the greatest dragons have lived for milennia.
The size of a dragon differs depending on it's age. They are always covered by hard to penetrate scales, and have the dragonbreath ability which lets them spew different materials from their maws (depending on their color). Their wingspans also differ depending on their age and type.
Note: This is a restricted race and requires special approval before applying.

Elvenfurre
"What ye fail t'realize eis, I've 'ad ten o'yer lives to master this game."
-Keiden Wulfhund, Elvenfurre Erish Skirmisher, over a game of chess.
These are the offspring of Elementals that interbred with Furres. They are primarily found in Kasuria, although their roots go back to Eriu (Eire, Erin, Ireland) in the Olde World. They have become numerous enough to have a small kingdom of their own, existing in the forests of County Raideth in Kasuria.
They are always thin, and sometimes tall (although never more than a head taller than regular Furres. They are often graceful, and favor archery over hand-to-hand combat. They prefer to fight with spears.
Dahna Shee have a few tiny cities deep in forests. Although by far the most numerous of the FeyFurres, they are still not nearly as common as regular Furres. When someone in the Dragonlands says an "Elf" or "Elven Furre", it is the Dahna Shee and not the other Ilks they are talking about.

Equine
"Stupid horse? Stupid horse?! I'll show you stupid horse!"
- Roderick Hammerhoof, mercenary.
The equines of Kasuria come in many shapes and sizes. They have colonized nearly every reach of the continent due to their endurance and adaptability. Equines are a noble race. Though usually never rulers, they are well known as knights in the service of the Counties of Kasuria.
Perhaps not the smartest of all the furre races in Kasuria, equines make up for this deficiency with their remarkable strength. This, of course, makes them a suitable race for fighters, and it is not an uncommon sight one of them clad in a suit of armor at the front lines of any army. It is uncommon, however, to see an equine mage, for obvious reasons.
Equines are known to be tall, muscular, and somewhat brawny. Their voices are generally baritone and strong, though some sub-species of them have been known to be somewhat more "gentle."

Feline
"Well, two things could happen at this moment. I could either slip out a dagger out of the pocket sewn into my left boot - yes, you see it? - or you could give me that fat pouch of gold hanging from your rather unfashionable belt, and hand it over to me.
... Good decision."
- Jaden Swiftpaws, Catolian rogue.
Perhaps the most versatile of the furre races in Kasuria, felines are found in every nook and cranny of a properly civilized city. While somewhat prone to vanity and lack of patience, felines benefit from an extremely agile and lithe body, making them perfect rogues or archer-type fighters.
Many sub-species can be considered feline - cougars, panthers, lions, and many more. For this reason, the spectrum of felines which dots cities like Wulfraech is probably the widest of any other furre race.
Felines are generally shorter than humans, albeit a lot thinner and far more agile. Their voices and hand gestures are perhaps a bit more subtle than the other furres, but a good looking feline often is the opposite of that. They get along surprisingly well with rodents and musties, who share their chaotic bent, but tend to regard most other races as 'stodgy' and 'uptight'.

Gryffe
"The gryffe stared at us, contemplating, it seemed. Her axe dripped with the blood of a recent kill - whom it was, we knew not. With a battlecry akin to a screech, she charged at us. Until then I believed I knew not what fear was."
- Endorllain Galanodel, elvenfurre ranger.
Gryffes are big, strong avians with incredible endurance. They are most often found in the northern reaches of Kasuria, preferring to make their lairs in cold climates and high elevations. Skyhaven and Hawkmount, therefore, are an excellent habitat for this race.
Taller than the biggest humans, gryffes tower the landscapes of the cities they choose to travel to as adventurers. They are not a common sight in the south, though most people are acquainted with them farther north. Due to their amazing strength and endurance, most gryffes who leave their homes in search of adventure end up becoming fighters or barbarians of brute strength.
A gryffe's movements are graceful, yet bulky at the same time. They obviously prefer flying to walking, and a majority seem to want to avoid entering any sort of cavern.
Note: This is a restricted race and requires special approval before applying.

Lapine
"You see, my friend, it's quite possible that you could enter my shop and threaten me, and take my goods and my gold, and I alone couldn't stop you. But you forget one thing. We lapines are never alone."
- Kezzer Kumquattle, shopowner in Sephion, addressing a thief immediately prior to his bi-daily family reunion. His wife in the back was cooking a meal for sixty, and expecting most to eat before arriving.
Lapines are a prolific race, but generally live quiet lives, prefering farming or business persuits to adventures or danger. Lapines are most often found living far from cities, as they have simple goals in life: A nice burrow, fresh greens and a comfortable, quiet existence.
Lapines stand slightly shorter than the average furre from footpaws to head, but their ears, when perked, can sometimes reach upwards of 8 inches or more. It is fairly uncommon to see a thin lapine, most are slightly chubby around the edges, as a consequence of their mostly quiet lifestyle.
Lapines have a love of song and good drink, though they don't hold their alcohol quite so well as the Furres do! Lapine Bards are praised and eagerly saught out by nobility, however, and many a large family has been enriched by one talented individual.

Musteline
"Just because I'm unarmed doesn't mean that I don't have weapons"
- Rika Swayde, Mongoose Agent
Mustelines are sometimes and unfairly compared to rodents, as both tend toward living in the underbellies of society. Musties, however are far more noble than rodents, at least in their own minds, and usually are found running organizations ranging from Robin-hood like bandit groups to monasteries for martial arts.
Mustelines are tall and thin, with arms and legs that seem slightly short for their body length. Since Mustelines run the gamut from Stoats to Ferrets to Skunks, Civets and Binturongs it's very hard to classify them with any one particular physical type.
Musties prefer city living, or at least living within the bounds of a civilized land. Rarely will more than a couple of mustelines be found deep in the forests of Kasuria.

Where did these winged wonders, with their ability to burst into flame intense enough to melt steel, come from? As yet no one knows, but it is said that the eldest among them can disappear, reappearing at their own familiar nest. Phoenixes themselves tell of a floating forest island, the Land of Lifted Woods. Alas, where this fabled and beautiful place is, even they cannot say. Perhaps it is gone forever, or maybe it never ever was... Phoenixes call themselves the "Children of Saligor". They say that Everflame, the first Phoenix to ever see the Olde World, was given gorgeous gifts from the crowned heads of Europe and she received many offers of marriage when she traveled. She was kidnapped and almost forced to marry an evil baron. Phoenixes relate this tale as the reason they tend not to travel there anymore. A more likely reason is that their power of "Fire Recall" doesn't *work* in the Olde World!

"Well, well. You've found our subterranean fortress! No, no, I'm afraid you're mistaken. These aren't your average sewer pipes. This, my friend, is our secret lair! So, what news from the surface? Are furres still busy up there? Hmm. Might be a good time to rob the bakery. What do you mean, take his gold? We're only after the cheese. Hmph. You surfacers are always suspicious, aren't you? Why are you here, anyway? What? I'm supposed to be down here, this is my home!"
--Snari Shadowtail, sewer dweller
Rodents consist of mice, rats, and other similar furres. They are generally similar in appearance: they are short, and have long tails (whether they be long and thin or upright and bushy). Their incisors are longer than the rest of their teeth, giving them the ability to cut through ropes and other materials with ease. They move particularly fast on all fours, and are able to move with great agility like this.
Mice and rats prefer to live in dark places, such as sewers, and usually feed off of the remains of disposed or dropped food (however, they'll always go for some fresh cheese!).
Rodents generally have larger ears than the other furre races, and speak in squeaky, treble voices. They possess a curiosity that often proves to be too much for their own good.

Scuirine are characteristic to the forested areas of Kasuria, and most often come in gray, brown, white, or black colors, with long, bushy tails. They will usually reach no higher than five feet in height and are much like their rodent and musteline cousins. They are often most comfortable living above the ground, whether in tree-houses or on the second story of their local tenement and can climb very well. Their quick reflexes are shadowed only by their often diminutive attention span, though they do make wonderful scribes and rogues.

"I will let you run, but only because I like the chase. I may burn you in your armor first, I may just eat your head after I pull your mind apart and pick my feet with that little knife you call a sword.
... I love when they run."
-Arjzak, Wyrmme Liberator to a bandit
The word "Wyrmme" is what the bipedal talking
dragons of Drakoria call themselves. The
noble-born Wyrmmes have wings but the
commoners are land bound and wingless.
To make up for this, they ride non-sentient
quadruped dragons, called dracosaurs.
Known for their use of psionics to control
the minds of furres, the race of Wyrmmes is
not well-loved in Drakoria. Those Wyrmmes
who live in Kasuria tend to be very nice;
they are the ones who rebelled against the
harsh Drakorian empire. Wyrmme psionic
powers are visible as a subtle rainbow
shimmer in the air from forehead or jaws,
(as if they were breathing it out.)
