After the 2024 United States presidential election in which Donald Trump won a second term, some American women expressed interest on social media in following the 4B movement. Shortly after the election was called, TikTok videos mentioning 4B were viewed hundreds of thousands of times, and Google searches about it spiked by 450%. American women have called the movement the "4 Nos" and "Lysistrata".

4B (or "Four Nos") is a radical feminist movement which is purported to have originated in South Korea in 2019.

The "Four Nos" are:
  • no sex with men (Korean: 비섹스; RR: bisekseu),
  • no giving birth (비출산; bichulsan),
  • no dating men (비연애; biyeonae), and
  • no marriage with men (비혼; bihon).

To be honest? I've been reading everything I can about American women's opinion on this subject since hearing there was a renewed interest. In my previous thread, the rise of extremism in young men being a direct result of this election as well as women's reproductive rights being put into jeopardy makes this movement seem not only a viable solution for safety and sanity, but also a rational response to being seen as nothing more than brood mares. Especially for young Gen Z women.

For Discussion:

How do you all feel about American women adopting a 4B movement? Do you feel a movement like this could even take root in American society?

Obviously my opinion leans favorably. Unfortunately, however, I can already see the beginnings of American in-fighting threatening to quash any thought of adopting a movement like this before it has the chance to begin.
I think that the movement won't be successful in America.

Those opposing abortion see that most of the people who are pro-choice as those who'd participate in the 4B Protest.

For them, this gets them exactly what they want.

Women who once engaged in open dialogues of sex outside of marriage and sometimes got pregnant are no longer doing this. This means there will be fewer abortions engaged in. This also means they aren't enticing men who might be neutral on the subject as partners

Then if they refuse to marry the opposing abortion side sees this as a good thing - their sons won't accidentally marry someone who would abort as they see it their future progeny. No marriage and No Birth means this movement would die out if they held to this because soon the only people engaging in these practices are those who hold the opposite viewpoint.
The only thing I see happening is that instead of complaining about women getting abortions, that they'd complain that women weren't doing their god given duty of marrying and bearing children. That and making the incel movement worse. Just the goalposts being moved once again.
