This NPR article was an interesting read about how the U.S. government deliberately targeted the BLM movement in the wake of George Floyd's death. So yeah, the black leaders were correct in their claim at the time that they were being heavily pressured. When put beside the January 6th insurrection, it is quite clear that the scales of justice are not equal.
