I know you can change the font colour via BBCode but... when roleplaying from multi-character profiles (many of us have them) it would be very convenient to have a button with a palette attached to be able to change the default font colour and pick a different one for each character, as well as be able to simply switch colour by clicking the button rather than using code editor which is more time consuming (especially from a phone/tablet)
I wouldn't mind having the colour option in the editor bar thing either.
I find it tedious to have to go back and fix the bbcode when I realise I spelt it colour instead of color, which hurts my soul by the way.
But yeah I'd like this.

So... this has always been possible to add, and I've always said no, I want it to be tedious to change font colors. Why? because it is so easy to pick colors that make it tedious/painful for others to read what you said. The colors of the RPR were picked to provide contrast that is easy to read even for people with eyesight problems, but not have such high contrast that they cause eyestrain when reading over a long period of time. Making it quick and easy to make everything yellow or hot pink encourages people to do exactly that, without considering that other people's eyes don't work the same way as theirs. There are, of course, legitimate reasons to want to do it, and ways to do so respectfully, which is why it's an option in BBCode at all. But I'm very wary of making it super easy to do for anyone without having to think about it.
My fear is that it would get even easier to pick unpleasant colors to read when there will soon be multiple versions of the site layout - what if you picked white, and it looked great to you because you use the dark background, but forgot that others use the minimalist white background?
Color is fun and useful, but also very, very powerful in ways we don't always consider.
Now this I can probably do!

What about account-wide settings that strip certain BBCode and/or force default templates that are contrast approved for people with visual disabilities? That way people get to use font colors and other customization options, but people aren't subjected to the hindrance aspect of it.
I personally would really prefer that everybody just takes this stuff into account, but since that's impossible, I feel providing users with disabilities with some extra tools might be an easier solution.
(This is also a bit off-topic for the suggestion made, but since the response addresses a concern I thought it would fit. Let me know if it doesn't/should be its own topic.)
