While for now, the rebuild is being called as RPR 2.0, a lot of us don't actually want to use that name.

So I figure why not make a thread here to suggest potential project names. Then perhaps Kim can pick some of her favorites and put those to a vote down the line if she so chooses.

I personally have a name I rather like: RPR Plus. It stands for all the cool new features and tools RPR will be able to now host. It also makes not one, but two cool acronyms. RPR+ or my favorite; RPRP! Because we all need more rp!

So what are your ideas everyone? Come on share and I'll be happy to add them to the list.

RPR is fine by me

I've been confused why a new name is needed beyond it's status as an in-development project. Once it's incorporated, we'll still be the RPR community. *shrugs*

I agree with nova. The name is just the 'project' name, and once the new version of RPR is up and we are using it, it's not like the site won't just be called rprepository like it is now, so I think RPR 2.0 is a perfectly fine project name since we aren't actually renaming RPR.

I saw this forum topic earlier and I wanted to reply but I didn’t because I didn’t feel like I could write a response that I felt explained my thoughts well.
So, I want to give my two cents and say that I agree with this; I think it would be a shame to sort of wipe rpr out of the name because of its history. ^^

Yes, it's just a project name. The site will remain the RP Repository.

I just want a project name that makes me feel triumphant saying it. RPR 2.0 just feels very... dry and technical for something that's so super awesome and downright challenging.

It's the name I originally suggested when Kim began this journey, and scared me into thinking she was changing RPRs name (glad that's not going to happen). Anyway it's kind of grown on me since then.

Added everyone's ideas to the first post.

...I mean, would it be reasonable to offer patches (or pins) as part of a fundraiser? Real ones for those who contribute at least a set minimum of monies?

I'm all for this idea.
