So this is a feature that I discovered on Reddit and quite frankly, I'm ashamed that I hadn't thought of it sooner. I understand than people love to spice up their character profiles with gifs, but they tend to slow down the page and they get old fast, especially if they don't loop. I do not need to see a man merely turning his head 30 times in 5 seconds. It's just plain distracting when I'm trying to read a profile.

That's why I would love it if RPR had a way of managing gifs like on Reddit. On there, you can manually pause/start a gif by clicking it and enable a setting in your profile to have all gifs turned off/stopped by default.

I have no idea how they do this (I always thought it was impossible to start/stop gifs) so I understand if this is a difficult feature to implement. But still, I would really appreciate some way of managing gifs!

This is a really good idea, especially if the gifs contain a bunch of flashing lights that could cause a seizure for people with epilepsy. Also, I agree. Seeing someone turn their head 30 times while trying to read something is really annoying and it can slow down the page.
I love gifs, but I support this for accessibility reasons!
I'd suggest having a setting. Always run, on click, always off.

This definitely is important for seizures and stuff.

But for some gifs where it's really just a little decoration, like just a little sparkly flower icon or something, having to click it becomes weird. If there's no "click to animate" thing, many would never be seen. If there is, it would likely completely take over minor decorations and make things just look kinda terrible.

Accessibility definitely trumps pure aesthetics, though.
I will look into this!
