With anon kudos becoming a thing, I personally have concerns about the feature becoming weaponized. Yes we can flag it and yes the mods can remove it but by then the damage is done. So I had an idea to combat and hopefully even prevent this problem.
Here's my idea
Kudos would not be posted immediately, rather they are submitted to the recipient for review. The user can accept and it is posted, or reject and it is not. Regardless it wouldn't be seen by anyone else until it was accepted. I'm hoping in the long run this would discourage any bad potatoes from doing so and it just wouldn't happen. It could also prevent additional mod work and hopefully save any hurt feelings it would cause by being posted automatically.
Please tell me what you think of my idea?

Hmm.. weaponised? sounds a little paranoid to me.
I wouldn't say paranoid, realistic is my personal opinion.
If I'm not mistaken this was a concern of the communities and even Kim's a while back when this topic was brought up before. Correct me if I'm wrong of course, I could be thinking of a different yet similar subject.
I do see your point but kudos exist to give other players compliments and recommend them, let other players know why you think they're a good roleplay partner! I struggle to imagine why anybody would want to misuse it to publically humiliate or possibly hurt other players; as most people here seem to be adults who want to avoid ooc drama - but that's jsut my take on it
Just popping in to say that I have seen it misused multiple times, and have had to report it, multiple times. If there's a rule, it's bound to be broken at some point, unfortunately.
That aside, while I like the potential option to screen kudos given to me, 9 times out of 10, it is used appropriately, and kudos is fabulous, especially if I wake up to it. Ultimately, while some people may see the misuse of the feature, we can delete kudos we do not like off our own pages as it is.

Wait we can remove kudos from our own pages at any time? That's a feature I am unaware of...can you tell me how that's done please?
Absolutely!
So if you go onto your own profile, scroll down to your kudos and click 'See more kudos'. Once the new page has loaded, at the top right of your screen you should be able to see 'Kudos you have given' and 'Kudos you have received'. Click 'Kudos you have received' and then you will be taken to a page where you can X the ones you no longer wish to have.
Be warned though(!), I don't believe there is a way to retrieve those nixed kudos once you have gotten rid of them.

Looks like you can remove Kudos you have given in this same way....thanks Demilicious, you have taught me something new, and possibly removed the need for this thread.
Being able to manage ones own kudos (something I did not think we could do when I posted this) makes me feel infinitely better about anon kudos. Sorry to have posted this seemingly needless thread.

Any time!
And I wouldn't say the thread was needless. It concluded with something being learned!

Dropping my input in too.
People do tend to braver when anonymous so it's a possibility they can "weaponize" it. Rather than paranoia, the way I see it it's more of a precaution to be able to review the kudos people give you. Not that I've experienced being on the receiving end of something like misusing the kudos feature.
I'm okay with this suggestion though, should there be a need for it be implemented.
EDIT: I left this page open and failed to read the above before I could post this, but it looks like Demilicious already covered the following the details!

But if we're only talking about deleting kudos, that's already possible!
It's just a bit tricky to spot but it's like this: Kudos > Manage Kudos (on right side of page) > Kudos you've received > X mark on selected kudos.

Yes, deleting kudos you've given/received has always been possible. There's multiple ways to get to it.
My favorite way to get there is to go to the main community page, then use the links in the sidebar: https://www.rprepository.com/community/kudos.php
But most pages devoted to kudos will have those links in their sidebars, right at the top.
Though I can see the utility, I think I'm going to skip adding an approve/disprove feature for the time being. Here is my general reasoning:
Maybe I'll revisit this idea later if it becomes a real problem and as my planned feature/recreation list gets shorter, for example as an option that people can turn off/on ("Post kudos I receive immediately" / "Let me review and approve kudos given to me before they are posted publicly")

- the current ratio of good to harassing kudos is something like 1500:1
- "anonymous" kudos are not anonymous to mods -- we can look up who posted them at any time, which will help discourage "weaponizing"
- you can already remove any kudos from your profile and characters the second you decide to, and doing so DOES NOT prevent a later mod investigation into who did it if you report it.
- there are important situations where someone who has received kudos can never approve or disprove kudos, for example those members who have died and received kudos in memorial. If we had to wait for them to approve those kudos, they'd never show up.
