I cannot express how much I would adore a +Connection to mark a character as in a relationship. Of course, because so many characters out there have AU's, it wouldn't only be available to mark a character once with this tag, leaving the option open to the writer.

But this to me would be huge, because while your character can date someone, the only way to really mark that there is a deeper connection there is to mark them as 'Family'. It has always seemed off to me because it would look odd to mark someone as family and then down the line if you rp a breakup they would no longer be family. It's something small, but something I hope would be feasible.

Yes! I agree! This would be a great addition! As it stands now, when marked 'friends', a heart appears. It seems to give the impression that they are in love. So I tend to use the 'aquaintance' more now. I guess a 'love' or something of that sort would fill in the gap that to me seems to exist in the current list.
Perhaps it could be called "Romance"?
Yes! Like the idea of this.

I think also having drop-down sub-options of 'spouse/husband/wife', 'partner/girlfriend/boyfriend'and 'lover'

And also family options like 'cousin/sister/uncle ect ect' would be great!

Yes! 'Romance' works, and maybe a short text field to enter what the relationship is?

Edit: there is already a text field to enter specific info on this function
Casting my support for a romance category!

I'm not talking about a text field for it. Since the 'comment' you can put with the connection doesn't show up in anyones newsfeed. I'm thinking something that does show up in the newsfeed like:

Maria Clark has declared Thomas Clark her: Husband - Family - Romance

Maria Clark has declared Lucia Clark her: Daughter - Family

Lucia Clark has declared Kora Morin her: Girlfriend - Romance

So basically the newsfeed would show who they've declared, what they've declared them as, and what categories.
All the Quotes

Ah, I stand corrected.
I would also seriously love a Romance option. I have characters who are canonically exclusive to others because they are involved in specific closed groups. I would love to be able to list other characters as specific family members or specific romance options.
I'm moving this to the PLANNED forum.
Thank you so much, Kim!
I love this feature, and highly approve of it being a planned one now. ^_^

I would recommend against the temptation to limit the possibility of 'romance' or the like to one person of course, as there are also people and characters who don't subscribe to the idea of just a single romantic partner. Leaves the door open for those polyamorous characters who exist. :D
There is no chance at all that it would ever be limited to one, don't worry. It's the opposite of a temptation ;)
Hahah, ok. Awesome ^_^
I like this idea. Although, while i may use the connections portion of RPR...if my character is romantically involved, I'll just state that elsewhere. IDK why. I think the limitations of the connection options is what prevents me. I know there is (or was) a way to customize the connection names, but...it doesn't quite work? I mean, it does but..it's..weird.

Anyway, maybe this is just me, but, is there a possibility to use a word other than "romance"? Like.."courtship" or "courting" or something? IDK..I like "romance" but, at the same time...idk.

Of course, I could always just edit that title myself to courtship in character connection options. No biggie there!
Romance connection option complete!
Cool!
Awesome! :D
