I would love, love to see all of my characters on one page with their different categories shown.
So instead of having to select different categories to narrow it down, see every character on the same page, but with headers or columns to separate. For instance, when I 'browse groups' there's a column for 'Featured IC groups' and 'Featured OOC groups.' Something as simple as columns like this (editable), would be great (as an example only), in order to see every character in one place.

With custom categories being a thing, that might be kinda hectic or messy...
Maybe showing category "tags" on each character on the big list as a middle ground? I know that I'd appreciate an easier way to see what all categories I have a character in, whether or not it's also made easier to edit them.

I really don't have a preference for how it would be done, but I would love to have them categorized, but all visual to me at the same time. I want to be able to see all 10 (or however many) faces, broken up into their respective groups, rather than having to toggle through different parameters.
Even character 'tags' would only be effective if you could group them together. Otherwise, you could just end up with a list of characters with a bunch of text, but no actual organization.

Well, part of the value of being able to click a category to sort is that a lot of folks have a lot of characters, more than the standard 10. Some have dozens on here. A few people actually have near or over 100, even, and being able to click something for narrowing it down becomes super important.
The number was just an example. We all have our own preferences, but right now there's only one way to do it.
