So perhaps this is something to be given to Epic Members only (and it may encourage more epic memberships); so with how can customize your profile with an epic membership, how about being able to customize the home feed as well?
I'd like to be able to turn the papyrus brown to a shade of black with white text, for example. I always just find that easier to read, and maybe other people would like other things.

If possible, I second this idea. Mostly just because I can find other colours easier to read, and in general it's fun to mess around with different colour combinations.
I also know people who like to have consistent customisation, so making their profile different to the feed can annoy them sometimes.

I do know that Kim is planning a night-theme...but I'm not sure that covers the same concept as complete customization.
By night-theme I mean something darker that will be easier on the eyes when it's dark.

Yeah. The only limitation is that people find things easier and harder to read on certain styles.
Like, I find white on black easier to read; but my friend finds black on red easier to read and finds white on black exceptionally difficult, y'know? By doing that, while useful to some people, won't be useful to others. Therefore allowing people to customise to their own needs, in my opinion, seems like such more useful concept.
I do not currently plan to allow full site color customization.
However, the new version will have two additional "skins" that people can select; a dark version and a minimalist light (white background) version. This isn't going to hit everyone's sweet spot exactly, but it should allow people to get much closer to their preferences and needs.

Understandable. Whole site customisation would probably require a lot of work, and considering that this is gonna be a huge update, I can see why it's not a necessarity ¯_(ツ)_/¯
