I've been sleuthing for a topic on this, but I don't think any inbox updates so far addressed sorting (although that might have been added already and just not been mentioned? Or I 100% missed it and did a dumb dumb)so I'm throwing it out just to be sure.
Would love to be able to sort PMs based on any of the current headers, including by "PMs I have read but still need to respond to". If I had to guess then it may already be part of the search feature for the inbox, or fit into that area instead.
I'm also finding it really hard to deal with the unread PM notices at the top of the page. I would really enjoy a "Do not disturb" mode for a maximum of 24 hours at a time so that there are no PM notifications at the top of the page. (could look like the default Inbox link with a (Do not disturb enabled), on the inbox page you can toggle it off and on for x amount of time).
I can see this being useful to help people set boundaries and practice self-care, like silencing a phone during downtime hours so you can focus on other things. I personally have been trying to be better about responding, and reading PMs means I can forget real fast. Leaving them on unread keeps me constantly on edge though, cause I associate the notification with "this needs to be read ASAP just in case something happened!".
I also recognize that this may be a niche need that doesn't apply to a lot of people, in which case it wouldn't make sense to have and it's something I need to deal with myself, but I do appreciate if it's considered!

I'm definately behind this also. Often times I'm able to read a PM response but not able to make a response in that moment, or choose to give the idea some thought before coming back and deciding what to write. A couple of times I have admittedly lost or forgotten responses and had to be poked to remember that someone was waiting on me, and in fact I'm afraid to think if there are any that never poked me and think I simply ghosted them.
I also feel like leaving them unread is kind of a wishy washy way of handling it, and feel like new messages outside the one I am waiting to reply to can be lost in the new message notifications (unless I remember the number of messages I recieved last I looked)
Also I was not aware the inbox had a search feature I'm going to look into that feature.

Yeah, I've put something up in the Help forum about 'Do Not Disturb' (as I didn't know whether we had it or not), and I agree with the thought that it's nice to take a step back from RP and not feel like you're missing out on it.
Hmm
I couldn't say that I would make use of the Do Not Disturb thing, but I can see its function being useful.
It would be nice to be able to sort PM's by those I haven't replied to yet, though, as by now even with manual sorting into categories I have more than one page on my main inbox.
