Well, I did it yet again... spent time crafting a new post, proofread it twice, edit, fix, ... okay, I'm happy with it. Click 'Start Conversation'.
2 seconds later... AHHHH! I forgot to put something in the subject line! It's now doomed to say 'No Subject' for the life of the PM thread.
LOL... I've done this multiple times. I doubt I'm the only one. Could 1 of these two things possibly work:

LOL... I've done this multiple times. I doubt I'm the only one. Could 1 of these two things possibly work:
- A popup warning with 'Hey, did you mean to leave the subject blank?'
- Have the same 15 minute window to edit the PM title as you have to edit the body of text
Yes! I have done that so many times... I try and make sure I do theSubject line before I write out the rest, but yes indeed.... please do this!
You have my vote!
In fact I learned a while after I joined I like to make names for my rp stories and place them in the subject line, one of my first rps doesnt have a name sadly and is likely doomed to say "Voldarian rp" for its entire existence. I dont suppose an option will ever open allowing me to edit that, but a 15 minute window sounds reasonable to me.

There is already a feature in 2.0 that allows people to retitle private messages at any time.
The difference between this and an actual edit feature is that the retitling is personal, not global, so everyone can give a PM a nickname that makes the most sense to them.
Does this address the concern raised here?

That's cool and certainly helpful!
But I think this is a little different. If someone gets a PM from me with 'No Subject', I feel like it reflects poorly on me that I failed at such something so basic.

Or that one time that I made a spelling error... Destined forever to be reminded of that one mistake.
Would love this to be an option.

I mean that does kind of address it... because then you just have to PM the RP partner and say, "Ack! I misspelled that one word in the title and it's driving me crazy. I'm going to fix it on my end, will you fix it on your end too so I'll know you aren't looking at my spelling error eons from now? Lol"
So...in a way, it addresses it. Hmm. What do y'all think?
Maybe the "Hey, idiot, you forgot to enter a subject!" warning message might be the easiest solution.
"Yeah? Whatever, send it anyway"
or
"Take me back! I don't want to look like a lazy slob!"
(Possibly with nicer messages. )
I could see the edge case coding rules getting messy if the recipient has already edited the title on their side within the first 15 minutes.

Being able to retitle it for yourself would be pretty nifty, I agree, but I can also see the appeal of being able to edit the actual title within that same grace period a normal PM post has.

Also want to mention: requiring a title was added awhile back, so this at least won't be an issue anymore either.

Well, it'll be an issue until we can swap over to 2.0, but not thereafter
Oh, ok, I misunderstood, my bad. Still approve, hahah.
