I know that Kim has said that she is not sure how the activity news feed will look once she has decided on how to update it but I would like to toss this idea out there. I am also not sure how feasible it will be. How much work would go into it. Or if this is something that Kim would even want to do, coding wise, or have in the updated site.

I know pinning threads is an option that is available to groups and in the forum boards for staff members. I would like the option to be able to pin or unpin notifications, for group activity or Forum threads, in my news activity feed.

Quite often I see an activity feed notification pop up, usually a group thread or forum post, that I am quite eager to respond to but lack the time presently to give it the time it deserves. This usually happens before I go to sleep or I have to be a responsible adult and need to go to work. While I am sleeping or at work there is an influx of replies or activity from the people/groups/threads I am following. The notification I was waiting to get to gets buried under all the activity notifications. I have missed replying at times due to what I was waiting on gets buried under other activity notifications and escapes my attention or I don't get to see the notification at all.

I feel like if I was able to pin the notifications to the top of my activity feed it would allow me, personally, to keep better track of the replies I owe outside of my personal 1x1 or small group private messages within my inbox. Or at least allow me a little more control on what I see or want to see within my news activity feed. I know I have a terrible time keeping track of everything during epic week, since a lot of people are actively posting in a variety of topics.

If pinning in the activity feed would be too difficult perhaps a tab in the inbox where you could see threads that have been pinned by you. I don't really know the kind of work this would involve.

I'm not really a group RPer myself but I really like this idea.
