This is one of my BIGGEST grievances. I'm sure it's probably been mentioned before, but Auberon suggested I post here, so here I am!

So here's the scenario: I've just posted in someone's guestbook and then I notice a typo or error in the BB code I've posted. Now, rather than simply just going back and editing the comment, I have to go directly to the player and ask them to delete the comment so that I can correct and resubmit the right one.

An edit option for guestbook comments would be SO helpful!
I didn't realize this wasn't something that we could do. I definitely want this! :)
I third this motion! I've fallen into the habit of leaving my guestbook comment on my computer's clipboard just in case I made a typo, or if the formatting in the guestbook owner's template scrambles the whole thing and I don't find out until after I post.

(And usually I end up PMing the guestbook owner frantically asking to delete the one I'd goofed up!)
OH MY GATOS YES!!!!
This is a bane of my existence. SO many mess ups! I would add+ also be able to delete your own guest book entry at least for some period of time after posting.

Between me and a friend we both messed up 3-times! while hilarious, not so hilarious when you are not so close of friends giggling about it and fixing it on each others profiles.

*need* so much *need*
I know there have been concerns in the past about a feature like this being abused. My suggestion would be that if it were ever implemented that it be held to a similar window to PM edits. Maybe even as little as 5 minutes, since most people see their comment right away. Something like that would help diminish the ability to abuse an edit feature.

I'm not sure how this could be abused any more than a PM edit?
That's my point, a window like the pm edits have would prevent abuse. Without it, someone could, say, decide later that they don't like the person anymore and vandalize their guestbook. An extreme example, but it's what I have off the top of my head after a long day of work. Guestbook abuse already happens, so allowing edits without a limit could exacerbate that.

The person who owns the guestbook still possesses the ultimate power of deleting whatever is posted if it the edit doesn't suit them?
Yes, but how will they know? Will edits trigger a notification? I'm honestly all for this feature. There are just some considerations to make for how to go about it.
Well,

I mean I think changing it like the PMs, allowing the same amount of time, should be fine. Because, generally, I think people notice the stuff right after they post it. It seems like the easiest thing to do in this situation.
