Hi everyone, I figured we could at least introduce ourselves and get to know each other a little better through here so we can help each other to create amazing characters! So...let's get rolling!
I'm Pen *waves* and I'm addicted to writing. I've been writing stories since I learned my alphabet and my first-ever story was called "Bang!" which was about a hunter's daughter who befriends a deer. Unfortunately, due to my terrible luck with computers, I lost it when I somehow saved a blank version OVER the written version. My second-ever story was about a Ghost Bus and a kid who gets on the wrong bus ends up befriending ghosts. I was in elementary school, obviously.
My stories are mostly character-development related, because I like to see how characters grow and change and react to various elements. I've participated in NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month) since 2006, which is how I got my pen name in the first place...and have successfully written 50,000 words in 30 days for every year I've participated. It's awesome.
I have been on RPR for going on two years now...and I love it here. I remember when I first joined how lost I felt and that there was NO way I could possibly come up with ten characters, let alone MORE. So...now that I'm at 40-some-odd characters, I realized I just wasn't trying. BUT, I can always use help in discovering more about my characters and how to improve them (I'm horrible at descriptions).
My overall reason for joining this group was to help others create awesome characters, as well as get advice and suggestions for how to improve my own. I'm always up for a quick lightning-round RP so don't hesitate to hit me up for one--as well as hashing out plot ideas!
So...what about you?

Hey Pen, I'm ShadowFall you can call me Shadow for short if you want.
I have been trying to get into writing lately so I joined this site to help get me started as well as another but I won't mention it for now since i'm pretty sure no one is curious about that. I love to just make characters from out of no where and have them flexible so they can be in multiple universes at once if needed

Hellllloooooo! I'm Fira. Probably can officially consider me a really, really weird person(in a good way ) Uhm... I'm really bad at talking about myself I guess I can say I like writing A LOT when I do there is like 20 pages of paper written out by the time I finish spewing it out onto it. Though for some reason I have a habit of never being able to finish stories. I tend to also make characters out of nowhere sometimes. Actually majority of my characters on my page are rather linked for their own story xD I try not to for the sake of them being flexible for different RPs but I can't help it. I also draw .___. Not much to say on that I guess. Most of my characters have my own art? Yeah... -crawls back into my cave- I'm open to RP btw
I usually go by Novalyyn nowadays, though Dragon Moon is another name I've used a lot. I'm actually new to this whole site, and am somewhat still in lurker mode, so I may or may not post much. I've been RPing for a long time, and writing even longer; I didn't really start writing for myself until 6th grade, but for a storybook project in 3rd grade, I was the only student with a proper coherent story (complete with plot and all), and although I didn't complete it then, the teacher requested I bring it in when I finished so she could use it as an example for other classes. Also, sometimes make really long sentences, like that last one.
It's been awhile since I've made any new characters, aside from one-offs that get just enough development for whatever short story they're in. And... that's when I even write. I haven't much in awhile. I have been running an original character tournament elsewhere, though.

Wazzaaaaaap. Manic mechanic here, quirky spazoid goblin/imp hybrid whose player isn't usually comfortable talking about themselves. They have been roleplaying for more than half of their life, though, and prefers semi-paragraph to, uh...hm. Whenever inspiration for the current post runs out! I think the longest one ever was on a novella forum thinger andd topped out at around 15 paragraphs, but that's suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a hassle and drain on the brain. They don't like writing IRL because their handwriting looks like chickenscratch and their teachers made them write literally thousands of line in school. And no one wants to play with me. I mean, look how long this has been here! http://www.rprepository.com/community/forumthread.php?t=9601
HI. I'm Danger. Since I don't know what impression that puts on people, I'm gonna go ahead and say that the reason I put that name in in the first place was that it was in the lyrics of a song that I was thinking of (which is also a false impression- I don't listen to many songs with lyrics >.<) and the reason I left it there... I sort of expected it to be taken, or that I wouldn't care much anyway because the reason I came in the first place was that a friend linked me here, and I had no idea just how cool this site is. The nick is usually use online, Katia, was taken anyway. Call me whatever you want as long as it's not offensive, and try to make it so that I know who you're calling
I like writing too, though I don't have much to brag about. I just have a whole lot of imagination and writing is my best method of communicating it. My talent is day-dreaming, but unfortunately I sort of have to disallow myself to do either at the best time because I have other things to focus on. I like to write my stories on paper/ notebooks. Confessions: due to writing on and off, I've never gotten too far on anything. I wouldn't say I've ever finished a whole chapter, but it's hard to say since I don't really think about where a chapter would end when I write. I probably have like a million characters total, but they're all pretty vague, and many of them are rather old so they're kinda childish.
This is what my typing is like when I'm hyper. Sorry. I don't know if I answered anything, or if this makes an sense, I tried not to write too much of a wall. I usually go back and edit things, so if it doesn't make sense, check back in a day or two

Hello there, I'm SpilledInk though I'm not sure as to why I'm called Spilled. Why not call me Ink? I do write a lot and now, with the help of RPR, it isn't as hard to put my stories down in words along with my characters. With every one of them I began with an original thought that led to a backstory and then the development of my characters. I have to say.. It took me a year or two to develop some because I added on and on throughout the time. I threw away old ideas and began with anew.
Speaking of music. There is ONE song that could describe all my characters and it happens to be by M83 because everyone loves M83. Yes? Yes? It's called Oblivion. A very good song, so listen to it. I recommend it! As well as classical from the composers John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Michael Giachinno, James Horner, Henry Jackman, Joe Hisaishi, and many many others. I'm a sucker for amazing and touching classical music. Doesn't mean I don't often listen to dubstep, rock, or pop, maybe a little metallic on the side.
Also, I've heard of NaNoWriMo and plan on participating when the time comes around. I've also persuaded a few of my friends to join me.
Well, I hope I get to know all of you and your characters well.

Call me Ishma- Er, Oaky.
I'm the resident sentient snark-filled tree of the RPR. I like writing a lot.
Now, I say I like writing a lot, but what I really mean is that I like the idea of writing a lot. I have yet to actually finish a short story that I've written on my own- Despite having written many stories. (Stories that range from my little stuffed bunny coming to life and saving the world from his evil twin to stories about a man who's been turned into a shadow and trapped like that for all eternity.)
Apparently, we're talking about music now. I like music. A lot a lot. I actually play a few instruments myself!
And by "play a few instruments" I mean I can strum a few chords on the guitar and play the scales up and down in a sort of half-assed melody on the piano.
But seriously, throw pretty much any music at me and I'll listen to it. (Short little caveat here: IT HAS TO BE REAL MUSIC. My brother listens to crap like Thriftworks and it drives me nuts. It's cool for when there's a dancer moving to it, but the music on its own just sucks.)
I like to use dashes a lot- They're fun to use and make more sense sometimes when I'm trying to decide on whether to use a colon, semicolon, or comma.
I started RPing when I was maybe ten years old? On this website for a Unity web browser based game called Mars Explorer. Someone decided to start an RP and that opened up a whole new world of creativity for me. I don't think I would be an RPer today if it weren't for that short, chaotic, confusing and powerplay-filled game.
Another thing you'll find is that I use the enter button quite a bit. It keeps my writing clean and easy to read. I have a short attention span so if I see too many words at once without a break, my brain j̱̥̤͡ͅu̡͙s͍͘t̗̣̣͢ k҉̩͕͝i̤͡ǹ̮̫̭̟͔d̴̮̯͚̦ͅ o̹̰̟̩̫̙͎͕̱͈̩ͦ͊̃́ͤ̋̈͌͒̓̎̆̚͜f̶̶̨͇̖͈͖̩͎͖̰͚͎̠̮̘͔̩͍ͭ͊̂ͣ͛͋͗̽̆̽ͨ͂ͬ̀ͣ͜ ̔ͧ̊̓͐͊̽ͧͫ͐ͮ̌ͤ͏̵͈͍̯͚͍̮b̷̦̣͉̘̤̺̼̼͎̥̝̞͔̰̭̙̰͕͇ͭ̽̐̒ͦ̽͋͟͞rͭ́͌͊̄͗̏̇͌͆̆ͣ̋͏̡̫̩̗͙̳̳̕͡e̶̘̼̪̣͕͇̣͓͕̅ͪ͋͒͆̂͌̃́a̢̝̞̬̳̟͓̳̰̫̣͖͚͍͑͐̆̃̈́ͪ̔ͮ̌͗̉͐͝k̨̻̮̤̩̖̩̟̠͎̥͈̝̘̖͙̥̺ͥ͑͒̿ͨ͋̿̓̊̃͛̂ș̨͇̤͎̤̞̝̣̯̘̜̲͙̟̘͖̭̪ͨͪͧ̍̑̓ͤ̌̒̽ͣ̆̈ͮ͛͛͌́̚͢͡͝
Yeah. I also held the title of "YOUNGEST MEMBER OF RPR" for quite a bit until a bunch of other 14 year olds showed up and stole my thunder.
So now I take pride in just being the most mature fifteen year old here. (Right guys?)
Thanks for reading! I hope to see you all around.

The name's Allyne, what's up?
I've been RPing for... I think it's been about five or six years now. I like to fancy myself a pretty good writer, but very once in a while I experience a moment of clarity in which I realize "Damn, Allyne, you're full of it." At times like these I like to eat ice cream until I puke, then make some poorly thought out purchase on Amazon. Then I get over it and forget all about my moment of self-doubt until a week or so later when the Gangsta Rap Coloring Book arrives on my doorstep. Good times.
I've spent most of my RPing life in a group setting, and I've participated in the creation of several groups for which I have enjoyed developing settings, events, cultures, and even languages. Oh man, do I love cultures and languages. I am SUPER into the world-building aspect of role play. Getting into the nitty-gritty of how societies work, their customs and and traditions... that stuff is my drug of choice.
I carry the same enthusiasm for developing cultures over into developing the characters that live in those cultures. It probably goes without saying that fantasy is usually my favorite genre, since that's when I really get to show off my ideas. Though, just about everything I do ends up being a world-building exercise of some kind. 21st century gangster story? Just rewrite American history to include a new city! Drama in the old west? Just build a new town in the middle of New Mexico! Then burn yourself out and leave unfinished maps, scribbled down excerpts from imaginary history books, and timelines detailing fictional events in your wake! It's all good.
I hope this has all been enlightening. I'll look forward to seeing you folks around.
