Albe is the newest addition to my character list. It's a feral gryphon who protects the ocean (although it's limited to the area it's in) and has magical powers. It can be roleplayed as a companion or familiar, but it has little motivation of its own to do much beyond watch over the balance of ocean life and feed and play.
This is something that I think I may struggle with. I'm used to giving my characters certain roles so even without other characters, they have an independent story going on. The problem with Albe is that I think this will be more difficult - it's a very simple critter after all. Any adventures will be prompted by other characters it meets or is summoned by.
So two things:
1: Any feedback on Albe's general profile and information? Anything you feel is missing that you'd like to know, something that feels too cliché to you?
2. Do you think Albe is a very playable character the way it is now, or will I be very limited with this set up?

First of all, I love the gryphon! I think it's a really cool concoction of albatross--I would say--and shark. (Degu did an amazing job drawing it!)
Second, I think Albe would be fine to RP with, so long as both players knew what to expect. Since Albe is intelligent enough to understand humans, there could always come about a purposeful 'miscommunication' or something. Especially if Albe misplaces a message he's been summoned to carry. Although I'm not sure if that would be something worth 'summoning' him for, unless it was dire.
You possibly could add places where he'd be found, or seen, to make it a little easier for people to get an idea for setting. Unless of course he's summoned. Which, frankly, I'd love to see the expression on that wizard/mage's face!
I thought of one character I could throw at Albe--that being Veronica O'Dare--who could possibly be in sea-turtle form or something he might swoop in to 'catch' with the intension of eating. And she of course would panic. But that's just one hypothetical. I'm sure he'd be fun to RP with possibly pirates, sailors, soldiers, and townsfolk too. Pretty much anything bordering the sea--or even on an island (privately owned or not).
