Welcome to the new all inclusive El Parasio City Condos. Situated in the Northern end of town these lofts were specifically made to house both the Empowered and the non-Empowered residents interested in living within the city and being together in harmony.

You will find that many Empowered so far have chosen to make this place their home for the freedom to live a mostly normal life as most Empowered that live here are easily capable of maintaining a certain level of composure. And all the surrounding businesses are friendly and accommodating to the needs of the Empowered.

Each condo can fit anywhere from 1 to 3 people comfortably and has all your basic needs! Water, heating and cooling, electricity, brand new appliances, Satellite TV and Internet with phone service all paid for by the government. Plus with the subway station so close by you'll have an easy commute to work anywhere within the city or its nearby suburbs thanks to the train and metro-tram system. That's right, you will be set up with a job based on the aptitude test you were given upon entry into the government's database.

Once again, welcome to the Condos!

Violet walked down the street. It was about Eight o' clock, and Violet had just gotten off work. She had been assigned to work as a Waitress, much to her dismay. She was wearing the uniform shirt of the restaurant she worked at, which had a pizza pie on it with 'Archie's Pizza' written around it, a pair of jeans, regular sneakers, and a red hoodie on over it all. She grumbled to herself as she walked down the street, not really paying much attention to where she was going.
When the car stopped in front of the condos, Joel stepped out and stood there looking at them. "Bye Mr. General, sir." he mumbled out, mostly due to the fact that he was in awe. He closed the car door and walked straight to the alleyway, laying down on a stack of flattened cardboard boxes. It felt natural as he curled up and made himself as small as possible.
A cheerfully shouted "Peekaboo roomie!" came from Violet's right followed by the flash from a camera. The culprit of the impromptu photo ambush quickly pops from her spot hiding behind the stoop of one of the buildings, cheering loudly "Another for the wall!" Out of her hiding spot and into the light, Victoria's clothes looked like she had been in some type of fight, though really most of her clothes just looked that way. She had been assigned a job as a photojournalist and had taken to the ragtag look of a freelancer.
Violet let out a surprised scream. She froaned as her arms quickly bulked out and became furry, now having large, sharp claws in place of fingers. She held her fists up ready to fight before realizing it was her roommate. Violet groaned, lowering her arms. "How many times do I have to tell you not to do that?!" Violet asked irritably. "What are you doing out here?" Violet asked.
Not bothering to answer about the number of times she had already photo ambushed her room mate, Victoria let her camera hang from her neck as she reached behind her and pulled a black and green can from her right thigh bag before offering it to Violet along with answering her other question "There isn't enough going on yet for me to actually take pictures of, what with everyone still moving in....so I'm really bored."
Violet huffed. "Well go ambush other people!" She said angrily. "I nearly freaking went full beast, and I would've torn your head off if I did!" Biolet said. She glanced at the green can and took it. "What's this?" She asked.
Victoria cheerfully says "Another new drink I found. Beast energy drink. Fuel your inner beast or...something like that. It looks and smells like gasoline...but it works." pulling a second can from her bag she unscrews the cap and takes a long drink that probably drained half the can. Recapping her can Victoria shrugs "I'll not ambush you at night anymore then. Besides...Hopefully things will pickup to the point I have other people to ambush. It is my job after all...."
Violet glanced down at the energy drink in her hands. "No thanks." Violet said, handing the drink back to Victoria. "So since you're already out here, wanna go get something to eat?" Violet asked.
Placing both cans back into her right bag, Victoria replies "Sure. Chinese sounds good to me. Let's eat at Cho's! It's a couple of blocks outside of the district but he gives empowered a discount and the food is good." While there had been no incidents yet, the fact that it could be dangerous outside of the three districts did not register with her as she points in the general direction of the restaurant. It happened to be back past Violet's own work.
"Sounds good to me." Violet said. The two headed in the direction Victoria had pointed in. "I don't think I've been by there before. What's their food like?" Violet asked as they walked.
"It's your typical Chinese place. Buffet, delivery and to-go orders twenty-four-seven. Large tasty portions with low price...and quick service." explained Victoria as they walked past Violet's work "Cho is just a nickname, his real name's Zhao, he's a first generation immigrant and runs the place with his family....they are good people." As they walked, they passed by a small sign informing them they have left the empowered district. Even though the district had only recently opened, the sign was already vandalized with 'freak district' spray painted across it.
"Sounds good." Violet said, before noticing the graffiti on the sign. She glared at it. "Those jackasses know what's good for 'em they'll pis off." Violet said. "This isn't some comic book world where the Empowered are obligated to hold back." Violet added.
Grabbing her camera, Victoria takes a couple of quick pictures of the sign while commenting ruefully "Yeah...but this is a two way street. If we get into too much trouble they'll want to make us wear tacky visible ID." continuing to lead Violet to Cho's she muses thoughtfully "We are new, unknown things dumped into their laps. They don't know what we can do and it scares them. I mean, all my power is that I never need sleep. Yours is that thing you do. It's vastly different then mine...and much more powerful."
"Still, being assholes doesn't exactly inspire friendliness in us." Violet said. Soon, Cho's came into view. The two walked in and waited to be seated.
