Shae blushed a little and smiled shyly." Xa. F'sarn natha Suru-Shifter." She said to Vierrynne ." Ser ol natha szeous. Usstan xuat ssinssrin l'byrren ulu zhaun quin." She winked and laughed a little. She looked at the others." Everyone seems human in nature at one point or another, no matter what they are."
Griffon raised a useless brow in the dark confines of the cage and looked at the shading in the black where the voice came from. "I got two questions... First, how the heck did you just see that? I can barely see my fingers in here!" He waved his hand infront of his face and flinched when he caught his nose, there was a small sound from the contact. "And second, what the blazes did you just tell her?"
Vierrynne's head shot up to look at Shaelyn in surprise. What in the name of...
"Dos telanth ussta ooble'?" She shook her head, not really expecting an answer since she obviously did. "D'heen, nind wo naut ragar doeb dal uns'aa."
She turned back to Griffon. To your first question, I'm a Drow. I grew up in dark tunnels and caves quite similar to this one, even though our capital is lit with a thousand lights..." she swallowed. "Our race has an enhanced vision, especially in dark areas such as this one. As to your second question, it is not for me to tell."

Avery wasn't tired anymore. She sat up and was intently listening to the new language. Avery has always been in love with hearing other languages but she could never learn them. She loved everything different because she has always been so plain. She thought about everything Griffon had said and done and all of his questions and concluded he was human. Nothing special, just like her. But Shaelyn was a shifter, and the other a Drow. I wish I could see them...I wish I could see. she thought.
"So what all does a shifter do? Or what can you do?" She directed it towards Shaelyn but she just wanted an answer. She felt like a child again, when her dad told her stories, with so many questions but not wanting to interrupt and wreck the façade of the perfectness and the lack of danger.

He listened to the girl and his head perked up when he heard a word he knew in her foreign banter. "Hey I know that word! I told you I've heard of you in stories right? Well I am an adventurer and so is my family so I definately know the word 'adventure'". He smiled, proud of himself. He didn't ignore her sharing of information, he just consumed the knowledge at let it find residency in his skull.
He paused and raised a shaded brow. "What is this about adventures darkling?" He paused again. "Wait, you said adventure right?"
He paused and raised a shaded brow. "What is this about adventures darkling?" He paused again. "Wait, you said adventure right?"
Vierrynne's gaze dropped to the ground. "If it is adventure you seek, then you're not in the right place. In the arena of the underdark there is nothing but blood and death and the cheering of the crowd. Nothing else is here to find. You want adventure? Try escaping. But know the consequences."
Griffon raised a brow. "That's not at all what I meant... I meant that word you said. Ragar. It means adventure right? Or discover... One of the two..." He started pondering, trying to figure it out. Then realized what she said. "What do you mean by that?"
Vierrynne shook her head. "What I said had nothing to do with adventure, I'm afraid." she sighed. "As I said, the only adventure there is to find here is the adventure back to the surface. however we are in the underdark right now... you'd have to find your way through the tunnels towards the upperdark, and then through those tunnels all the way to the surface. And don't think the Drow will let you take your time to figure out where to go." she tried to utter the last words, but couldn't - her throat was dry. she swallowed and cleared her throat.
"If they catch escaped slaves... The slaves die in the most horrible way available to them..." she shuddered. Vierrynne knew exactly how her kin would kill them, and even though she was used to the fact, she still shuddered at the thought. She crept back a bit and hugged her legs, leaning into the cave wall.
"I wish I'd never been born a Drow..."

Griffon knew better than to keep pushing after the question was avoided. He nodded to the new information and dug into his pocket to find a stay leaf. "You said there was anti magic about, does that stop minor trick spells?" He looked at the drow's general area.
Vierrynne shook her head no. "They come in the form of rings that are placed around your neck. The slightest hint of mana gathering will be punished with death..." She remembered once seeing a slave attempting to escape by magic. The ring had turned red and the man had choked to death within seconds. He never made it two paces far...
The story teller raised his hand up to his neck, there was nothing there. He smiled and recreated the ball in his left, and free, hand. He scooted over towards the drow and looked up at her, holding the leaf out.
"You hate being drow huh?" He smiled at her. "Look at this leaf, it is green and brown. It is dieing and it is ugly." He gave the leaf a fake disgusted look. "There are many leaves like this. Actually, most fallen leaves are like this." He closed his hand and squeazed it tight, when he opened it it was bright red. "But they don't all have to be." He repeated the squeasing, when he opened his outstreathced hand this time it was yellow. He kept smiling even though his voice was more sureal than chipper now.
He took his hand back and squeased really hard. When it opened the leaf looked as if it was exploding with colors. It was blue, green, red, yellow, and orange. "This is still the same dieing leaf, see?" The dead corners had broken off in his hand. "What is the difference? Well it isn't as ugly as the other leaves. So maybe you are a Drow, and maybe they did put us here. But just because they are ugly leaves doesn't mean you can't be a beautiful one if you are a leaf anyways." At this point he became quiet as he ended his little speach.

Vierrynne just looked at the leaf as it constantly changed colors, becoming brighter and brighter as Griffon's speech continued. She then looked at him with a surprised look on her face. She hadn't expected that little outburst of wisdom and just sat there speechless.
Eventually she put everything back together and muttered a thank you.

Griffon smiled and noddedthen scooted back to his original spot. "Well is everyone alseep or is everyone staying up?" He smiled, the blue ball casting an eerie glow. "If entertainment is seeked to ease minds this night maybe I can be of service. I might know a few stories."
"I'm stayin up...can't sleep" she said as she was interested in this fellow who all of a sudden didn't act as a child. Avery started thinking about the day ahead. About the weapons and who she would be against. Shae was an archer too she thought, nervous because she had taken to like all three of the talkative cell mates. "Hey Shae, have you fought in more than one or how do they know to put you in the cage?" Avery was scared. And it was obvious by her voice.
Shae looked at Avery, a bit surprised by the question." Maybe I'll show you when we are not in a cell. I'd rather not the others who do not like us see." Shae smiled." Trust me. I will not use my abilities against any of you and I will make sure of that."
Vierrynne was curious of what Shaelyn had to say. However, her curiosity was not able to keep her exhaustion at bay. She'd been running for a long time, and alltogether had been awake for two days straight. The young girl was not able to manage that and soon fell asleep. Originally by leaning back into the rock, then falling sidewards against Shaelyn's shoulder, automatically cuddeling up slightly to that one soft surface she could find. She never woke up during all this, and never realized what she did.

Griffon looked around. "Nobody?" He shrugged. "Your choice. I shall follow the lead of the drowsy drow over there and find a nice comfortable patch of jail cell to have a night's rest in." He smiled at the wordplay and scooted over a foot and laid down to sleep.
Shae blushed a bit when the drow fell asleep against her. She smiled slightly, happy she had already made a friend. Shira watched to make sure no one tried to attack the group in thier sleep.
Avery looked around slightly and saw that basically everyone was asleep. She thought Shae might be awake however she hasn't said much so Avery kept quiet. She laid down and closed her eyes, feeling the exhaustion settle in. I miss the trees, and the wind and the sounds she thought and with that settled into a light sleep still listening to everything around her.
The light in Griffon's outstreatched hand started to fade and sizzle out as he fell asleep. He began snoring every so slightly, being in the odd position he was. He would definately be sore in the morning!
