Shade blinked her grey eyes open but was only greeted with darkness. "First time this has happened, but its good to greet something new. This must be the newest realm. Not fully developed."
From the darkness, a voice that sounds both familiar and distant makes its presence known.
"Greetings, Shade. I suppose you have many questions about this realm, but I have...no. The days of old have passed. It's time to turn over anew..."
The darkness forms into a large arena made out of various crystalline structures. The entity, a large mass of whirling energy resembling a hurricane above the arena speaks.
"You seem...quite special. This is why I have prepared a personalized trial tailored to your...strengths and weaknesses. This is the Arena of Cavnos!"

“Hmm... Alright. I’ll play your game.”
“Am I fighting someone or? What am I doing?”
"Not someone. Something. I have assembled a colossal beast that you must kill using any means necessary...without the usage of magic or weapons."
“Hmm ok.” She said calmly. She shifted her emotionless gaze waiting.
An eldritch beast formed from pure energy formed from behind the arena gates. With a loud roar, it burst forth from its containment, running on all fours with the intent to kill.
Shade was fast as she dodged. 'Pure energy? Wonder what kind, but for now I'd better play by the rules. Sadly thats impossible. I'll have to keep dodging in order not to break the rules. One hit, thats all it takes and my dark healing kicks in. Can't control it. It's automatic.' She thought.
Shade continued to dodge. 'This is a little too easy. I've fought these kind of beasts before. There is no need. I can still beat it.'
Shade dodged to the right and taking off her cloak rolled it around her wrist and hand. Then she threw a punch right into the beast. The cloak made of none conductive material blocked any energy that would flow from the beast into Shade.

(Oh, boy. A self-imposed challenge. I like it!)
The beast staggered, changing form into a suit of armor three times the size of its previous form. It leaped into the air and revealed a large bow, shooting down a barrage of large flaming arrows into the arena.

Shade assessed the situation as quickly as she could. There was no cover, but it was still too easy.
While watching the skies, Shade found the arrow that had fallen the furthest than the others. She ran to beside the spot where it would drop. Once it hit the ground, Shade grabbed it and threw it aside crating a space for her to stand where no arrows would hit her.

The arrows suddenly stopped before they made impact with the ground as the armored construct slammed on the ground, turning the arrows directly at Shade and firing.
Shade flicked her gaze everywhere looking for how she could get out of this.
"Sometimes you gotta break rules." She ran forwards right into the arrows and let them hit her. "Doesn't hurt a bit." She said standing back up while tugging out arrows. Her wounds closed at a rapid speed.
"Sorry. Couldn't be helped I can't control it." Shade shrugged dropping them to the ground as she sucked the life force of anything close by, or if there wasn't... Shade was powerful enough to draw life force from other realms also.

"Mmhm. I see..."
The being, along with the arrows disappeared into dust. Two gates opened on opposite sides of the arena. The voice spoke again.
"You have proven your value. Choose either the gate to your left...or the gate to your right."

Shade didn't even care as she randomly started walking to the one on the right.
It was pitch black. The only thing visible was a computer terminal that read on the eerie green display...
CHOOSE ONE.
005 - Us Versus the World
006 - Darkness Rising

"Darkness rising. Just choosing at random."
"So it shall be." The disembodied void responded.
(Wait until I post a new thread under that one. There's going to be a whole lot of inconsistencies because I'm barely working on a plot for that one, so hang tight.)
