If this man knocks at your door, you might be filled with dread. Tax-giving may be what ensures every man his peace, but it surely it is a hefty price to pay. When the tax-collector resides in the largest house, with the most luxurious of clothing and best store of food, envy tends to permeate.

So respect is begrudgingly given to the governor of Burrmouth, respect and the majority of crops' harvest. Sure, he does his work well. The guards listen to him, and keep out a watchful eye. The governor is fair. He holds a conference once every fortnight, and listens to the people with patience, and settles disputes best he can.

The blood in him is right for the job, too. Olric son of Wemmington is the first born heir of a legacy of first born heirs dating back to the first and oldest in the village, a veteran soldier lifted up by the people to rule over them. As his father before him, Olric keeps the order, but at times he does play favorites.

It is the little things that make the people sore, though they are not near sore enough to give it voice. Besides, the outspoken among them positively adore the Governor.
