Name: Taylor Carsthetter
Soul Name: Seraphiel
Nickname(s): Seraph, The Iron Guard (By those who revere him), will also go by Carsthetter when addressed by humans
Alias(es):
Age: Appears to be around the age range of 20-23, is still aging minutely
Gender: Male
Soul Type: Angel
Rank: Old Soul
State: Nearly Awakened; his powers will be fully realized within the year
Appearance: As a soul that has nearly realized it's true potential and power, it only makes sense that he would become fully awakened in the physical prime of his life. Taylor, or Seraphiel, has appeared to be the age of 22 or so for the better part of a year now. However, he has not fully awakened, as he can still notice very minute changes in his physical and mental state as the days pass.
He appears to be fairly normal, or as normal as an immortal could appear, save for the the meticulous way he styles his hair and trims his facial hair. Seraphiel prefers to keep his midnight black hair combed neatly and his matching facial hair short, but not shaved. This particular styling, oddly enough, softens his angular features rather than hardens them. This gives him a very warm and approachable appearance. The most outstanding feature on his face, though, is his entrancing set of hazel eyes.
Seraphiel towers over most at a height of 6'3". He maintains a fairly muscular build; this is enough to make him strong, but not enough to make his body hard. He has toned body features but rarely shows them off as he tends to dress himself in sweaters and slacks: a very father-like appearance.
In the book of Enoch, he is described as "having the face like the face of angels and the body like the body of eagles."
Personality: Seraphiel prides himself in having a very warm and inviting personality. Despite this, he doesn't have much to say to anyone and would rather show physical reassurance or affection than speak of his emotions or feelings. He tends to be a very passive soul, letting small inconveniences or mishaps slip by without acknowledgement. Despite his professional appearance, he keeps everyone he meets close to him and protects everyone with his life. Whether it is wanted or needed (or neither), anyone he comes into contact with will receive his full and withstanding support and defense, hence his infamous nickname "The Iron Guard."
In the way of the war against angels and demons, he tries not to involve himself. He is the only one who knows his true ability and he fears that any sort of conflict could result in the loss of one or multiple of his beloved. However, he always ends up being pulled into the battle one way or another due to his naturally helpful and (sometimes) submissive nature.
Soul Power:
Energy Channel
Seraphiel, as chief of the seraphim, possesses the ability to channel energy from other seraphs (angels) within a range of 10 meters. Once collected, he can expel this copious amount of energy from his body in a shockwave that has a knockback effect rather than a harmful one. However, this energy is highly concentrated, making it very limited to the amount of people it can effect (4 typically, but 5 with less energy) but extremely effective on the ones that is does come into contact with. (The more energy, the less people affected and vice versa)
Personal Power:
Protective Mist
Due to his solicitous personality, Seraph is able to cast an enveloping mist around himself and a party of 9 or, excluding himself, a party of 10. He draws this energy from his own supply and after use is a bit drained, but the power is extremely effective for protecting a large group of warriors. When the energy is withdrawn, a clouded mist develops causing the user and his party, or the user’s chosen party to become completely shielded from view and from harm of the attacker for as long as Seraph can sustain it. If he sustains it for too long. he may completely deplete his Grace, or energy, and die. (Essentially sacrificing himself for others)
Aura:
The Wrath of God
Seraphiel’s aura, though rarely seen, takes the shape of a corporeal golden sword with an approximate 3’ long, double edged blade. Etched deep into the metal blade, edge to edge, is the word of god written in Enochian, the language of the angels. The blade itself was forged with holy fire and bathed in holy water, giving it a very severe burning effect on any God condemned creature it is used on. Once the blade was forged, the scribe Metatron engraved it and it became an extension of his guardian, Seraphiel to be used on all those who may try to destroy the word of God. Thus, it is appropriately named The Wrath of God.
Background:
Seraphiel is chief of the Seraphim and the sole guardian of Metatron, the scribe of God. Because of this, he is considered to be the first guardian angel. Until the word of God was written, he never left Metatron’s side. Only once the scribe had completed his work was Seraph allowed to live among humans freely until absolutely needed. In his first life, he was married with two children. Those three beings were the lights of his life and once he’d outlived them all, he took his own life to be with them in Heaven. He was then inadvertently reborn and lived his days as an impoverished potato farmer in Ireland before he was killed by what was known worldwide as the “Irish Potato Famine.” In reality this famine was the work of the devil himself releasing the Horseman, Famine, in an effort to destroy Seraphiel with realized success. His tertiary life began as Taylor Carsthetter in 1994.
His soul has existed since the beginning of mankind, yet despite this, he is still in his awakening state due to unexpected death just a couple of decades ago that forced him to begin his life anew. Others find him to be particularly old fashioned because of his soul’s age, especially in the way he dresses and conducts himself towards others. However, if there is one “modern” ideal that he’s learned to embrace it’s that everyone deserves to be loved and safeguarded, no matter what they are or who they love.
Seraphiel is spiritually connected to Metatron and so will always find himself at the scribe’s side when needed. Otherwise, he remains alone, helping those in need when necessary. As the Angel of the Seraphim and the ruler of Tuesday, he is often invoked from the North and can be found inhabiting Helsinki, Finland.
