Just wanted to have a seperate topic for my own ideas, cuz im sure ill get a lot^^
I have two ideas for how mechas could work in this universe.
Idea 1 - Super weapons
In this idea, mechas are incredibly rare super weapons. A faction might have 5-10 mechas in total due to their nature as super weapons, as they are so expensive to make and keep in good condition. They use only state of the arc and expirimental weaponry. These mecha are controlled by a combination of pilot input and complicated A.I.s which cooperate on choosing the best strategic action during battles. These would however be incredibly rare to see in normal battles and only to be used in extreme scenarios, due to the dangers of their weaponry and abilities. They would be the equivilant of nuclear bombs during the cold war, mostly only being used as threats and only seeing actions in very rare extreme cases. Perhaps add a mythological aspect where some factions use their respective mechas as military propaganda, and citizens look up to them and their pilots as if they were the likes of greek heroes. These mecha would be absolutely massive, 50m/165 feet approximately, and easily function both in space and within planet atmospheres. Maybe give these mechas a unique name, instead of mecha we could call them something like Grand Constructs, or something else mythical.
As an idea for the inuniverse history, these couldve been developed by the Imperial Confediracy, and after seeing one in action, humanity would seek to try imitate the technology. Resulting in The United Alliance stealing one of these mecha in a insane raid on a Confediracy fortress. The United Alliance would discover the unique alien energy source of these mecha, which they would replicate but only after many years and failied attempts (perhaps a miniature star or something similar?). Later on, the rebellion would also steal one of the United Alliance's mechas.
Here is an idea of what they could look like:
Idea 2 - Standard Mass production weapons
In this idea, mechas are very much like tanks, airplanes and similar vehicles of our time. They act to support infantry and are equiped with similar weapons as the prior mentioned vehicles. These are seen very commonly and are mass produced weapons, but special custom mechas exist for very talented ace pilots, which are a lot more specific and a lot more powerful than the common mass production types. If you are familiar with Gundam, you know what i mean. Also these mechas are controlled by one or two pilots who cooperate in controlling them. These would be a lot smaller, averaging out around 12m/40 feet, maybe sometimes bigger in case of customs.
Suggestion: Mechas

Personally, I think we should go for your second idea, even though it's not as cool. I just feel like mech armors would be common in the Lux System after all the time that has passed.
But I don't make the final decision here. Both are really intriguing, though.
One thing I have to say about your second idea is that, if these mechs are mass-produced, I think that they should be smaller. 40 feet is really tall. An average person wouldn't even reach the knee of the mech. (Though I can't see the picture for the mech)

Primarily, I think both the UA and the IC would use spaceships considering the millions of miles they have to travel to reach the sites of many of their battles, so the use of mechs will need to be justified with some other purpose. If they are smaller like these guys are saying, they could be transported in larger ships for land invasions possibly, but I can see there being a huge revolt if MPs starting using them to police on Earth.
So it seems the general consensus is for us to go with idea two but to make them smaller, so I'd suggest we go with mechas very similar to those in VOTOMs and Titanfall:

That mech looks around 15 feet (how I found out, I used a very useful tool: Size Comparison. I like this way better than a 40-feet mech .
