The Golden Age
While most describe the Golden Age as a pleasant era of peace, it wasn't all that good. It was the period after WWIII and most of the population had been decimated. Radiation was still strong in the air, even after centuries of war. This radiation would affect a third of the remaining population, causing their offspring to have mutations even to the current day.
After the United Alliance formed, several countries like Great Britain and Russia had their economies collapsed, forcing millions into poverty. Fights and looting took place. All the while, the government was rendered completely useless in stopping the fighting. Because of this, various countries fell apart within decades until around five countries remained, turning into the modern regions that we know today.
There was still racial tension within the United Alliance, which was due to all of the history behind China and the US. Racism was still abound. Racial attacks occurred relatively frequently. But these attackers were no match against the might of the United Alliance military. Racism is still around to this day but to a far lesser extent.
After the UA was formed, there were immediate plans on rebuilding everything from the economy to the military as well as prevention for another WWIII. Millions worked with each other to rebuilds their respective countries. Within less than a century, cities had been rebuilt and were up and running again. Technology advanced at faster speeds. Everyone was enjoying the new tech that arrived during this era.
At the peak of the Golden Age, in 2088, the UA sent 50 people to the moon in order to colonize it after reports of a metal that could be used for weaponry. Fast forward to now and the moon, known today as Tellurian Lunar, is a successful and booming colony and the symbol of UA space exploration. The Lunar Spire, constructed in 2095 to celebrate the colonist who settled there, is currently the most visited Earth site.
A famous leader of the UA, Edina Garolds, had been caught illegally enslaving a group of African people to steal weaponry and ship parts from Africa. She was soon arrested. But Edina was a major help in the rebuilding of Earth. The parts she gave were used in the construction of cities while the weaponry had been given to the military. The UA was growing at faster rates than previously expected. They grew so large to the point where the current resources weren't sufficient enough for everyone. For a small decade, from 2237 - 2244, thousands of people, mostly minorities, were plunged into poverty.
Out of desperation, the UA sent out excavations to gather as many ship and weaponry parts they could salvage. In the end, many of the excavators had too much exposure to radiation. Another fraction of the UA died. The excavation did bring in more resources. Resources from the moon had also been generating. A few decades later, the UA was back on its feet and better than ever.
To be continued... (Just need to know your thoughts so far)
This looks really good so far and has given some ideas for what some of the modern African regions could possibly look like
I might start working on that once I get the chance to now, but I really like the idea of early corruption in the UA. That would spark some early rebels forming groups around the planet.

Personally, I feel like we should add in a few more countries, partly for diversity and partly because I think more of the world should be under the control of the UA if they are really a galactic empire.
The reason the rest of the map isn't filled out isn't that those regions aren't apart of the UA, it's because they haven't been planned yet. We just need to fill in the rest of the areas

Oh, I understand. Not all of the regions need to be filled, though. Maybe some regions are larger than modern day countries?
I mean, they'd want to fill in as much as they can with stuff with the limited space they have. And a lot of the regions are bigger already. The New Mexican Wasteland moved into the former southern USA and the World Market of China area inhaled a few surrounding countries as well. The old borders are just kind of guidelines.

I see. Well, personally I feel like you should include some other countries into the UA (under different names, of course) like Mali (partly because I learned that at one point, the Mali Empire (which it is named after) had massive gold mines), Norway, Sweden, Congo, India, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Nigeria, Spain, Indonesia, Morocco, Algeria and South Africa. (We can add or remove some as needed, this is a lot of countries sooo)
And then alter some of the regions' borders.
Yeah I think that sounds good, but there is a lot to figure out.

Definitely. I'll give out more suggestions later.
