A lot of it sounds really interesting and useful, so I might have to check out Gundam, but I think that OP particle is a little bit of a catch-all for explaining away their technologies, you know?
We did not compare those two weapons at all and as I stated, plasma weapons are completely unfeasible to ever exist. They aren't actually as powerful or lethal as they are made out to be, even if the massive amounts of energy needed to create and store balls of plasma could be produced and stored easily within the weapon. I think it should be a general rule that you have to have some sort of battery cartridge in order to fire laser/particle beam weapons. The energy can't come from nowhere and it would be really expensive for it to be self-produced within the weapon, assuming we decided that was possible to do.

Psycho I never really said we did either. It was more of a metaphor to compare things to.
Oh it is a catch all. The interesting thing is that a lot of the lore behind it is from fans but officially endorsed.
But yeah, I would say light/small arms versions should be 'cartridge/battery' based while anything larger could be reactor based.
Say a heavy beam rifle would have a cable running to it's own power reactor and have to be mounted to something. But a infantry model would run on the replace able cartridge system.

Sounds good to me. We’ll need an official paragraph explanation or something to put in the lore library
Question, what about armors and power armors?
Would they be like halo, fallout, some other genre? Halo would be a complex system, involving many different layers of metals and fibers. Where as fallout is a skeleton power by a cell, then covered in plates of armor and other accessories to boost its power and give it certain things such as a flashlight or water purifier.

I personally feel the fallout method is somewhat more believable. It's easier to mass produce, use, modify and repair. but I dont know how it would fit lore wise. that would be for Psycho to answer.
Also still working on the beam weapon blurb. Did notice I cant post in the lore tabs, so when it's done I'll send it to you Psycho.
