The Land of Kala Ree
Kala Ree is a lush basin, tucked away in a mountain range far from the prying eyes of the rest of the world. It is a little place outside of time, where strange beasts roam the cool forest shade and mountain roots. Two species dominate this land: the bipedal Serra and the huge, feathered Kyrka. These two races work in harmony through a magical process known as the Bond, a powerful mental connection shared between a single Serra and a Kyrka chick. Formed at the Kyrka's birth, the Bond is permanent, mingling the memories and minds of the pair until their dying day.
Though once mighty Kyrider pairs dominated the skies and kept the basin from harm, their numbers are far diminished, and only a few remain... will you help them replenish their ranks?
Sarasha's first clutch was a success, with no hatchlings going rogue or seriously injured hopefuls. The arrival of new squawking chicks in the sanctum boosted the spirits of the entire colony, leading to nights of merriment before training could seriously begin.
The next weeks were exhausting--with only a small handful of adult Kyriders, each with their own normal duties to tend to, the work of bringing in enough food for the hatchlings fell upon everyone equally. By the time they were long-legged Kyrlets, they could begin to hunt for themselves, and some of the craziness of the early months fell way to routine. The activity has brought life back to the sanctum, and it is busier than it has been in a long time, full of hopefuls and new workers alike.
Now it is four years after the hatching. The clutch are young adults in the final stages of their training. A couple have ventured off with some of the other fully grown Kyriders on a long quest, for there have been some curious happenings on the southern slopes of Kala Ree, and there are rumors of a second Kyrka clutch on the way ...

What is Kala Ree?
Kala Ree is a classic bonding RP. Back in the early 2000s, there were many of these bonding RPs spread out across the Internet, with origins most likely in Dragonriders of Pern RPs. The basic formula was this: there is one humanoid species that the players created, then one "animal" species that the GM created for the PCs to "bond" with. Usually there were interesting pets to have and places for the PCs to stretch their legs in, rather than a single focused plot. I wanted to relive my RP glory days with a game like this, so here we are!
