Kire could not help but flash a grin at her rather destructive suggestion. She would prefer not to risk setting the forest on fire for this task, but she was on to something here.
"I like the way you think, friend." Kire said as she leaned her arms onto her knees, her face etched with a pondering look."But perhaps not a fire, but fires instead. If we start smaller fires in the prey's nests, they'll be forced to move out in massive numbers without risking setting the entire area on fire."
"But perhaps it might be too risky and irresponsible to be playing with fire, but it's certainly something to keep in mind. How about a trap? If we managed to get the Kyrka trapped somehow we'll have plenty of time to get the eggs before it manages to free itself." She suggested.

(Sorry for the wait, guys )
Kire listened closely to Kirryllu. The alchemist was a treasure trove of good information, and she hung on his every word. Black cap mushrooms for vision--but just the caps. The cave seemed like a frightening prospect. How deep in was the nest? Neither Laylar nor Kirryllu had said, which meant, of course, that she and Kire would have to figure that out for themselves.
Kyrka didn't have a good sense of smell, and relied primarily on their eyesight and hearing ... both of which would be impaired in a cave. "They have to use an opening in the rock," Kette thought aloud. "Like the aeries." Every Kyrka in the sanctum had their own aerie to nest in. Some were open to the elements, but most were tucked away with passages leading out to the open air. "But ... if there's a back way in ... they wouldn't expect us at all! If we can trap one outside in the open, like you said, Kire ... the other would surely try to help it. Then we can easily slip in through the caves, get the egg, and be halfway back to the sanctum before they notice!"
But what about the Kyrka? Kayna asked Kette and Sullar. We can't just leave it.
"I suppose you're right." The young Serra looked up at Kire. "Well, Kire, can you a fashion a trap that you're sure the Kyrka can escape from after, say, a few hours?"

Karah would smile at Lesa'ah and say. "Ok, I'll trust you to lead the way when it comes to making camp then and I promise to be careful. Don't you as well Lillua?"
In turn the golden Kryka would nod her head at her bondmate and then turning to look at Lesa'ah, would have her gem briefly show yellow streaks in way of silent apology.
Then both girl and Kryka would listen carefully to what Kirryllu had to say. She was especially interested in two of the things he had said. The first had been when he mentioning that they would best off climbing the cliffs and wondered just how much of a climb they would be in for. The other thing that was about he said about the eggs and that she shouldn't have to worry about them or their parents. However speaking of the egg, she did have a question about them.
"Alpha Laylar and Kirryllu, I have a question about the eggs. When we steal the eggs, is there anything special we have to do to transport them safely? Also thank you for the information Kirryllu." She had used when instead of if deliberately as there was no way Karah was going to accept failure even if it nearly killed her.
(Also was Karah supposed to call Kirryllu some sort of title? If she was, then pretend that she did so.)

Lesa'ah listened as eagerly as Karah to what Kirryllu had to say, and nodded along with her young partner when Karah voiced her thanks. She gave Karah a surprised look when she asked her question, but was grateful for it--she hadn't considered transport, being so preoccupied with the initial risks of stealing them in the first place. And transportation would matter even more if they had to climb with the egg at all.... If she had to climb with the egg, she thought, because she certainly wouldn't let Karah do that.
"If we'll have to climb to reach the nest, we'll have to plan our timing carefully," she said to Karah. She had some vague ideas about that--could the person with the lure move along to lead the Kyrka further away, and for how long? Were there hiding places they could use around Southcrag? But the only way to be sure if those ideas were good would be to scout the area. "Have you climbed rock before? I haven't. We'll need to practice that before we even try to approach the map." She had a vague idea of what would be needed--spikes, ropes, and so on--but she would have to investigate much more thoroughly before they left. Thinking of the things needed for climbing, and Kirryllu's comment about packing for weeks, had her starting to think through all the other supplies they'd need as well. "I think we should both make supply lists, then combine them before we start packing, in case one of us thinks of something the other one didn't."

((Schedule's clearing up. Sorry for the wait, guys. Had a lot on my plate))
Good points were raised all around. It seemed hunting Kyrka eggs was quite different than hunting the beasts of the ground. Though she had hunted and caught eagles before, this was quite different.
"Even if you did plan on trapping a Kyrka for eternity, they'd find a way out,
I'm sure." Sullar replied absentmindedly. Kire didn't reply at all. She was too busy thinking.
"Hmm... I think... Yes. I can creature something that'll buy us an hour at least. It does need some preparation." She said as she stood up, patting the back of Sullar's neck, causing the big beast to get up."I'll explain on the way, but we should get a move on. The sooner we can get started, the better."

Laylar looked down at Karah as she asked about transportation of the eggs. "They will not be terribly fragile, but you'll have to rig up some kind of harness, and it would be best to pad it." He yawned then--the hour grew late, and the excitement of breaking the big news had left him tired. Sarasha had even dozed off while leaning against Kaarikai. Laylar smiled and smoothed his hand over her head and ear.
Kette, meanwhile, was furiously stroking her chin and flicking her tail back and forth. When Kire stood, so too did the younger Serra, followed by Kayna. "We have to get everything ready. How long will it take you to build the trap, Kire? I can get everything else--traveling supplies, lanterns, weapons, things like that."
And a map, thought Kayna. You need to look at a map of the caves, if there is one.
"Yes, fine, and a map, so we can find a back way in."
And I don't want to get lost down there! Kayna's jewel pulsed with nervous yellow, and Kette let out a long sigh. She wasn't often physically affectionate, at least not in the open, but she went to rub the Kyrka's beak.
"I'll bring chalk to mark the--" Laylar's yawn spread to her, so suddenly and fiercely that she was interrupted midsentence. "--the path. I can get started now--"
No! Sleep now. The Alpha said you can take all the time you need to get ready. Kayna lowered his head to butt against his bondmate, sending her a few steps closer to the passage that led to the aeries.
(So, here's how this is gonna work! You can either RP out all the prep, or summarize it. Either way, you'll have to tell me everything your characters are bringing and doing to get ready. Then, I'll make two separate threads, one for each group, and take the part of DM.)
