While I hope this doesn't happen to anyone, what happens to a Kyrider if their Kryka dies? Like from battle or maybe illness.
If a Kyrka dies, it's a huge emotional toll on the rider, and they all handle it differently. Most lapse into depression, sometimes to the point of being catatonic, and may forget to take care of themselves (or just refuse to). They might go out of their way to put themselves in danger or become outright suicidal. Others even can be driven mad by their Kyrka's death. Some riders who are more emotionally stable can survive the ordeal, but they'll always feel like their life is missing something, and they'll never truly recover. I'd say 50% die within a week of their Kyrka's death, and after that 90% die within 6 months, but beyond that they're usually able to live out their life.

I'll have to put this info somewhere!
If they manage to survive, how do the rest of the kyriders handle it? Do they allow them to remain in the sanctum? Do they try to help them find a new career?
They are pitied immensely, and are permitted to remain if they want to. The sanctum has a good number of non-Kyrider workers, so a Kyrider who lost their Kyrka could stick around to advise, do light chores, etc. They might find being around Kyriders painful, however, and choose to leave to start a life elsewhere. In this case, society will generally give them a leg up and help take care of them. They're regarded like a disabled veteran would be.
