The Nemateelu

-Smell- Sense of smell is more advanced than even a standard feral. Not only for distance but as to what is detectable. A Nemateelu can pick out a single scent among others in an area

-Physical Strength- Namateelus are generally much lighter than they appear. They are built as light as possible for optimal flight. However, they are much stronger than they look. They can easily lift their own weight.

-Hearing- Hearing is very sharp over great distances and at keys mostly unnoticed by mortals. They are able to hear on a frequency that allows them to communicate with the dead.

-Sight- Vision is by standard rather poor. Partly color blind and somewhat light blind, most Nemateelu rely on other senses and absolutely do not like bright daylight. They are a purely nocturnal creature.

-Elemental-

Most Nemateelu are able to use a secondary ability that is usually elemental. Their eye color tends to run along the same lines as that ability.

-Face Stealing-
Nemateelu are able to 'steal' the face of another. Their victim is taken into what is called death's embrace, with the Nemateelu on top of their victim pinning them to the ground. The Nemateelu then projects a calm using a very gentle note of telepathy. They sooth and calm until their heart rate is able to match that of their victims. Only then can they begin the process.
The process is incredibly painful for the Nemateelu but no more painful to the victim than suffocating.
The Nemateelu will be in a state of dulled senses and sleep making them very vulnerable for several days after the event. Thus they do not rely on this very often.
Aside from face stealing all Nemateelu are able to shift to a feral form. They are born with this ability and never lose it even when 'faces' have been gained.

-Immortality-
Nemateelu generally come into full grips with their immortality after the age of one hundred. Hybrids are the only uncertain note to this as some are born immortal while others never achieve it.
Pups are born very mortal by comparison to the adults. They can easily die and many do not make it to adulthood. Pups age normally to the age of about thirteen. At that point the aging process slows. A Nemateelu is not considered to be an adult until the age of one hundred. At that age a Nemateelu will have the appearance of someone around the age of 18. They will still age from there but not much. Elder Nemateelu who have lived hundreds of years may appear to be roughly 30. They never really lose their youthful look.
