They are a family favorite around here. Just cook up some bacon and stick it in the waffle iron with the batter. Then generously pile on some mashed strawberries and top with whipped cream if you so desire. Absolutely delicious.

Unfortunately I don't even own a waffle iron too, so it's a dead end.
Not waffles, but we do a similar thing around these parts with pancakes for a Valentines' Day treat! Just cook up some bacon beforehand, use the bacon fat in the batter and stick a couple of slices of cooked bacon into the pancakes once you've poured them into the pan. It's fantastic!
I do like to make bacon waffles, but use various other toppings, including strawberries!
