Hey guys, this is my first post here and I thought I would give to you guys some potstickers I made for culinary class.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Stainless steel frying pan with lid
Large mixing bowl
Small bowl of warm water
Food grade gloves (optional)
Tray/plate to hold made wontons
Towel
INGREDIENTS:
1 pack wonton wrappers
1 1/2 cup of shredded cabbage
1 portebella mushroom caps, diced
2 green onion, diced
1 cup ground turkey
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp Sherry cooking wine
2 tsp white grape juice
Pinch of salt and pepper
Neutral flavored oil
1 tsp Sesame oil (Use toasted sesame oil if available) Have more ready for cooking
INSTRUCTIONS:
1: Add Sesame oil, Sherry, Grape juice, soy sauce, turkey, onions, mushrooms, cabbage, and salt and pepper to large mixing bowl.
2: Put gloves on if you have them. Mix mixture with hands until just together.
3: Take 1 Wonton wrapper and put 1 tsp of filling in center of wrapper. (Note: you may need to add more or less depending the size of the wrapper. You'll need enough room to seal the wrapper)
4: Seal wrappers by dampening the tip of your finger and running it around the edge of the wrapper. Then take one corner and fold it to the opposite corner. Then press edges together before laying on dry tray and drying hands. (Note: use as little water as possible when sealing because if the wrapper gets too wet, it will tear as you fold it. Also, if you don't know how to fold, don't be afraid to look it up. There are many ways to fold a potsticker)
4: Using a paper towel, dip it in neutral flavored oil and rub down the inside of the pan then heat up the oil on medium. (Note: If you don't use enough oil, the potstickers will stick to the pan and tear apart)
5: Fry both sides until golden brown. After both sides are golden, add water and cover. Let steam for 1 1/2 minutes before taking the lid off.
6: Drizzle Sesame oil on wontons then let cook again for 1 minute. Take out and allow to cool.
