I totally agree. I have been discussing the ending of this show a lot with my animation friends and I really thought Iroh was a much better person, bending and character than Mako.. And that their "love" was rushed and unfounded. Iroh would have been more awesome 
Gah, I know. I kept waiting for Asami to be evil, or to turn on him so that I could feel justified in him leaving her for Korra. Actually, he didn't even bother to properly break up with Asami, he just ran off with Korra 
I know right!? He just sort of gravitated to Korra and never once said like we're done, I want to break up or sorry Asami, I like Korra better
And poor Bolin totally got dropped in the character development department after Korra shot him down. They threw him in for one liners and that was it! I feel like the characters they made for this series were cutouts of the last that didn't stand up to their predecessors at all. At least Sokka had true depth to his character!

I really liked him. A lot better than Mako! I was actually excited when that story line came up, because I had thought Korra was going to date Bolin and see what a much better guy he was, and the nice funny guy would get the girl instead of the brooding emo (And Bolin's Fireferret is adorable!! Bael should get one) Hopefully things will be developed more in the second book!
Also the funniest part of that for me was the DO DO DO DO HONOR. I think I gigglefitted. Took me back to my favorite episode of TLA, when they go to that show of their adventure thus far. My friends and I still quote that at each other all the time, with one of our favorites being, "Nice Zuko costume, but your scar is on the wrong side." "MY SCAR IS NOT ON THE WRONG SIDE!"

I love that episode. they also got lazy with Pabu: they were never lazy with Momo. He was always with Aang or someone. but Pabu disappears for a long time.
