The Elemental Islands are a trio of small islands located off the western coasts of Kanzasu. These small islands are home to a small population of people and are most notable for being the site of the Elemental Challenge, a series of eight battles that'll push a challenger and their team to very limits, each battle seems to become more difficult than the last. There are eight separate facilities located throughout the island, each tailored to their respective Elemental Trainer to fit theirs and their Pokemon's needs. While there is no set path to take, it is recommended that people start with the Heal Pulse, as it is considered to be the easiest of them. The Pine Lake and Volcano Island challenges are considered to be the most difficult. Winners of the Elemental Challenge are enshrined in the Hall of the Elements, a place the Elemental Trainers use when no one is taking part of the Elemental Challenge. The winners also receive a large sum of money, however due to the difficulty of the challenges, few people attempt them. In order to take on the challenge, trainers must schedule something with either Jay or Olivia ahead of time. Each of the Elemental Trainers will use four of their six Pokemon at random in a single battle. While some of the Elementals are known for having legendary Pokemon, they will rarely use them in battle with a challenger unless they have been requested to do so.

BATTLE 1: VS. THE SWEETHEART, JESSICA

The first battle takes place at Jessica's Heal Pulse, a colorful facility that offers challengers the chance to heal their Pokemon, but only after they've defeated her. While she is considered to be the easiest to defeat, it doesn't mean she's a pushover. Each of her Pokemon have unique strengths and weaknesses, meaning each of them need a plan of action to be dealt with. Jessica will almost always use Gardevoir in battle, her Mega Evolution being devastatingly powerful. After you've defeated her, she will offer you three chances to heal your Pokemon in between battles, but once you have used up your three opportunities, you'll just have to continue on until you either quit, are defeated, or become victorious.

BATTLE 2: VS. THE OBLIVIOUS, JOHNNY

After defeating Jessica, you'll likely want to go defeat former Team Nebula admin, Johnny. Despite his former occupation, he is perhaps best known for his obliviousness nature. During the battle, he is capable of using strange, but great strategies to defeat his opponents. Many of his Pokemon either have high power or high defenses, rarely both. If his Pokemon hit hard, it's likely they'll end up taking hard hits in return, if they take hits well, they may not be able to deal much back in return.

BATTLE 3: VS. THE GENTLE CECILIA

Following your win over Johnny, make your way towards the Tower of the Wise in the southernmost tower on the main island. While Cecilia's gentle nature might make her look like a complete pushover, you'd be sadly mistaken. Her varied team and her exceptionally high intelligence make her a threat to behold, though most of her team are either slow, lacking in power, or are not capable of taking many hits. If you can exploit their weaknesses, then you'll be able to defeat Cecilia, but be careful of letting your guard down. If you make even one mistake, you'll regret it for certain.

BATTLE 4: VS. THE CURIOUS GABRIELLE

After Cecilia's battle, you'll want to make the trek up towards the tower in the center of Icicle Island. While her Pokemon aren't the strongest, the battlefield is mostly what makes the battle so difficult, the freezing temperatures can make it difficult to think, especially if you've come unprepared. The slick battlefield and unpredictability of Gabrielle's battle style will only add to your woes. After you've defeated her, you'll have just four more challenges to go.

BATTLE 5: VS. THE PLAYFUL KRYSTAL

After you've managed to defeat Gabrielle, make your way towards the Quiet Forest to take on the fifth Elemental Trainer. Despite her location, Krystal is anything but quiet, being the most playful and energetic of the group. Her battle is random and very unpredictable, while none of her Pokemon outside of Venusaur are especially exciting, one can never be too sure what she's up to, that combined with the many status ailments her Pokemon can inflict, she'll be a tough trainer to get passed.

BATTLE 6: VS. THE ECCENTRIC CAROLINA

This is where things begin to get intense, Carolina's battle on Royal Island is considered be among the most wild and unpredictable. While none of her Pokemon are particularly powerful, many of them possess incredible speed. If you're unable to keep up with them, you'll more than likely lose the battle. Her unpredictable and eccentric battle styles will do more than enough to keep you on your toes, that combined with the potential paralysis that comes from most of her Pokemon's attacks, you're gonna need more than just brute force to win this battle. You can't relax once she's defeated, your toughest challenges are just ahead of you.

BATTLE 7: VS. THE COURAGEOUS OLIVIA

Don't let her childish stature and demeanor fool you, she'll whoop you faster than you could blink if you let her guard down. Her intelligence, skill with Pokemon, and highly varied team will leave one dazzled. If you aren't careful, all kinds of pain will be rained down on you. She can read through an opponent's strategy like an open book and often times, she'll use an opponent's strategy against them. The easiest way to defeat Olivia is to try and find her Pokemon's weak points, then exploit them; though this is often times easier said than done. Don't rest just yet, you've got one more challenge to take care of before you're able to call it quits.

FINAL BATTLE: VS. THE LEADER JAY

You've finally made it to the tail end of the trial, but do you have enough strength to carry on through the final challenge? While Jay isn't nearly as intelligent as his younger sister nor as entirely unpredictable as his future wife, his team and his years of experience has made him a dangerous opponent. The easiest way to defeat him is to prey upon his Pokemon's weaknesses, specifically by using Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon, but on the downside for the challenger, Jay has made preparations for his Pokemon to fight against the weaknesses his Pokemon have. Upon defeating him, you will be brought towards the Hall of the Elements where you will not only receive your cash prize, but you will also be immortalized in their Hall of Fame. So far, no one has even managed to get past Krystal, but perhaps you'll be the first one to make some history.
