Before Egg could argue just how crazy that sounded, a shrill cry went up from the remaining pidgey as three more shadows swooped that direction. Their forms were more easily recognized: two pidgeotto flanking a pidgeot, in a tight formation. Their first maneuver scored three direct hits and the mystery pokemon turned away from the pidgey to focus on those closer to its size.

As the trio of newcomers doubled back for a second pass, their opponent reared up, revealing a bat-like face atop its long neck. It took a deep breath before a wall of sound erupted from what appeared to be its ears.

"Gah!" Egg yelped and Siorrin grunted. Both tried to cover their ears to block out the noise. When it finished, the dragon-looking bat launched into an aerial assault of its own and Egg shook his head, backing away. "Nobody's asking you to stand anywhere - we need to go!"

But he didn't go far, not exactly sure he could just leave Anzai behind. Especially not if he was serious about dragging his poor Espurr into such a mismatched fight.

Unfortunately, he'd hesitated a moment too long. Just as he was about to make his decision, the big pidge-trio swooped low, their leader passing between Anzai and Egg and the other two cutting behind and around them. As the mystery pokemon followed (and the incensed flock of battered pidgey followed it), Egg hit the dirt to avoid getting clawed, pecked, or bit.

Espurr realized what it was and shook his head, as if to say 'nope, i'm out'. he bit Anzai's foot and pointed his whole arm at the Pidgeot. he hissed at his trainer slightly. Anzai looked down at him, realizing how foolish he was being. "okay, okay, it's not my fight." he quickly picked up Espurr and ran over Egg, and grabbed his hand to help him up after the flying types passed over him. "look, i'm sorry for being a moron but now you really are right, we have to run!" Espurr frantically looked around for Siorrin. "esp! eeeesp!"
He didn't have to say that twice. Once back on his feet, Egg scooped up Siorrin (poor guy got landed on but seemed okay) and bolted.

Egg didn't stop running until he could see Viridian. The flying 'mon's battle had probably ended by now - no distant swooping could be seen back the way he came - so he flopped on his butt, huffing and puffing. Then he lay back, letting his arms flop to the ground, staring at the deceptively friendly sky.

"Syarba? Sasaur? Mmbabsaur?" Dusty and a bit scuffed from having been squished, Siorrin seemed more concerned about his friends. He patted his trainer, who took a moment to answer with a wheezing, "I'm fine."

Then the bulbasaur looked around for everybody else. "Byaaur? Asabyaaur?"
he quickly followed, collapsing on the ground next to Egg. "really.... sorry... about that." Espurr quickly followed, and glared at Anzai. "i know, i know.. i should care more about your safety than some random Pidgeys. i'm sorry, and i promise i will from now on." Espurr perked up, both at his trainers promise, and at the fact it just noticed they had made it. the small feline-like pokemon wondered if there would be one of those 'gyms' all the humans in the group seemed to be talking about here. Espurr spotted Siorrin and went over to him, wondering what his opinion on the situation was. after a second Anzai stood up, still feeling guilty about what he did. he looked down at Egg. "hey, are you ok?"
Glad his new friends were okay, Siorrin tumbled off of Egg's chest to be on Espurr's level. "Ssyaaah," he remarked, sitting back on his haunches and patting the psychic kitten gently on the head. Then he continued to ramble, clearly still a bit rattled, but relieved as well. He seemed to be saying, 'Wow, that was a close one! Do you think we'll have more like that?' And other relevant things. No hard feelings, though.

Egg, on the other hand, stayed on his back and glared up at Anzai. "What were you thinking?!" he hissed. Whether Egg's face was still red from the running or if it stayed that way from anger was hard to say. "Do you know anything about relative levels or type matchups?"
"i know it was all completely reckless, but relative levels and type matchups isn't anything to do with it. level-wise, we hadn't seen what it was yet so how would that affect my witless attack? and types, types are my strong suit. unless it was a psychic, steel, bug, dark or ghost type, Espurr would take and deal normal damage. so while i'm sure everyone in the kanto region can agree it was an idiotic move, it wasn't for those reasons." Espurr sighed at it's trainer's attempt of defense, and stormed inbetween Anzai and Egg, doing a sort-of 'round over' motion with his hands, then pointing towards the city. he had a very agitated look on his face, but also gave Egg a look that seemed to say 'i know he IS a moron at times, but be patient with him.'
From the ground, Egg glared up at Anzai but didn't interrupt. And when he'd finished his defense and Espurr stepped between them, Egg just shook his head and stiffly rolled to his side to get back on his feet.

"I guess that's fair. It wasn't idiotic for those reasons, if it was just your own pokemon on the line... You're just selfish and you didn't think about anyone else's." He punctuated those harsh words by picking up Siorrin and turning towards Viridian. Which saved him from having to talk immediately about the tears that rimmed his eyes. Or the fears that fueled them.

"Whatever... Let's just get out of here. We can make it to the PC in an hour if we keep moving."

He walked quickly to try and keep his back to Anzai.
(I am back. I am happy to join! ^^
