I've been smitten with the Mystery Dungeon side-games since Red and Blue Rescue Teams came out. The series has certainly had its ups and downs (lookin' at you, Gates to Infinity), but it's still been a fun ride.

Anywho - I'm just trying to gauge interest. Anybody up for an RP in a Mystery Dungeon setting? I'd rather not have characters who were originally human, but if y'all would like to have that, we can raffle it off by dice roll or something.

Second idea: an RP through the pokemons' POV. So it's main-series world, but less focus on the wants and thoughts of the trainers. Players could be pokemon with trainers, pokemon who want trainers, strays/abandoned pokemon, or 'wild' 'mon with no interest in being caught. I haven't put much thought into location, so suggestions would be nice.

Interest in one idea doesn't cross off the other; ideally we'd have both going on at the same time.

I like both these ideas, but since I'm not really familiar with the mystery dungeon series, I will show more interest in the second one. As far as location goes, maybe we could try old school and do Kanto. I think a mix of wild or abandoned mons would be cool, but maybe a few players volunteering to be trainers could be interesting as well?
That's fair. I hadn't considered some players being trainers, but that could be a fun angle, too. Especially if we get players whose 'mon want trainers or don't want them at all. Adds conflict!

Maybe we could do it where players have the option to do both? Play a pokemon (or two) and a trainer character if they want?
That sounds pretty cool to me, yeah maybe a few people use a trainer and a pokemon or so. I wouldnt have everyone use so many characters, as it could make things cluttered, and people might have difficulty remembering them.
