Planetary Archive Entry: Shinnihon
Planet Name: Shinnihon
Region: Outer orbit
Sector: 14th Sector
Inhabitants: Humans
Number of Colonies:4, with 2 sectors
More information: Shinnihon was originally a rogue planet wandering the cosmos before the merging of the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies but was pulled into the Solar System's orbit and entered the asteroid belt that was the Earth.
The remnants of the Japanese population discovered this miraculous new planet and populated it within a century. There are two sectors of the planet (North and South), the capital being in the North. The surface of the planet is predominantly subtropical continents with archipelagos dotting the large oceans. Sakura trees were planted on the planet in honour of the fallen nation and have rapidly increased in population since the first colonists landed.
Cities there are often described as "neon metropolises" sprawling for miles on the coastlines. The cities are very efficient when it comes to production and supply technology to most of the 14th Sector for trade. As such, inhabitants are often persuaded to join engineering or design-related careers to further the technological advancement of their world and make them easier to sell to xeno buyers.
Education is often mandatory up to university level where, afterwards, they can decide to apprentice with an employer or progress further into the Nihon Kinen-kan Academy where only the best of the best are hired and admitted entry.
