So, I assume that everyone is currently speaking some form of galactic common. Is this via use of a translation brain chip/device of some kind, or is everyone just expected to learn and speak common? I think both work just fine, but it'd be good for me to know

I never considered this, either... (currently using something called notebook.ai to help get my writing life together, and will certainly add this in!
) I would think common is just a generally known language, although I am not opposed to a chip or something for creatures that are not fluent or struggle with making the proper sounds for common.
